6. Legends of Wolves

The next morning, we woke up to the smell of freshly made bacon, cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip waffles, and pancakes. My younger siblings always fight over which to make for breakfast, so we all had to compromise on making both. I swear that they always get into fights, and someone ends up in the hospital emergency room from the fights. Sometimes, they do not even fight at all. I love family mornings because we often come together to eat and learn about our family's history and legends. We also talk about what is happening in our lives. It is also one of the few times we get to spend time together due to our busy lives. This is because we all have busy lives, such as working, playing sports, attending school, etc. My mom always makes breakfast, lunch, dinners, snacks, school lunches, snacks, and everything; she is an excellent chef, while my dad, we will just say, tends to have firefighters always come to the house when he cooks.

Sometimes my dad is not allowed to cook without supervision since the fire department yelled at him the last time. He had a cookout, burned the steak, and almost burned down the whole house. Now the only jobs in the kitchen are washing the dishes or setting the table, depending on what mom wants to do. Hazel loves to help Mom and Aunt Leah bake delicious treats such as cakes, pies, cookies, and anything else you can think of. She always volunteers to clean the bowls and kitchen utensils by licking them clean. She has a sweet tooth for freshly baked treats or anything sweet-related. Sometimes, when she sees a sweet treat, she drools like a dog who just saw a bone. Anyway, we all came downstairs for breakfast and sat down in the dining room to eat when my mother said

"Now, kids, you know the rules." "We must wait until Dad and Uncle Ian get here," she said while putting chocolate and regular milk on the table.

"Awe, come on, I am starving, and you know I need to eat so I can get taller and stronger." Someday I will be one of the most impressive football players, just like Colton and Troy. "Plus, who knows, I may break their football records?" Max said this while trying not to spill any milk on the table while slowly pouring Hazel and him a glass of milk.

"Well, I hope I will be just like Charlie and Kaylie when I get older in cheerleading." I cannot wait until I am the captain of the high school cheerleading team. I also thank you for letting me be a part of the team right now. "I am learning new skills and how to be an excellent caption," Hazel said while stirring the chocolate Hershey sauce in her milk.

"No problem, Haz; we look forward to having you on the team, and you are an honorable member of the team captains' squad." You know you can help us by picking some girls to join this year's team, Charlie. "I would love to have your feedback on many things," Kaylie said while fixing the younger pups a plate of food. She loves being a good role model for them.

"Gosh, if they don't get here within a couple of minutes, I say screw it and let us just eat." "I am hungry," Aunt Karen said while licking her lips at the sight of all the food on the table.

"Alright, let's just eat." "If those boys do not come, we can make them late," my mom said while grabbing some food to put on her plate.

"Hey, what about us?" We are hungry too, and it is not our fault that we are stuck doing packing business. "Sorry, Max, you are too young to be in the meetings yet," Colton said while stuffing his face with waffles.

"Max, how about we ask Dad and Uncle Ian if you can attend the next meeting?" "I am sure they will not mind," I said while trying to cheer him up. TV put the popcorn bowl on my side table, and I fell asleep while sharing my comfortable, warm bed.

"I sure hope so; I hate being left out of significant things such as pack meetings and all that type of thing," Max said while pouring some syrup onto his waffles.

"Hey, what's all this noise about?" I can hear Hazel and Max fighting over chocolate milk again. "Jesus, you both don't need to fight over who gets the last glass of milk." "There is more in the fridge," my dad said while making himself a plate of food.

"Max started it, not me, and besides, he took all the chocolate milk last time," Hazel said while trying to cut her pancakes in half but struggling.

Half an hour passed quickly. It was time to clean up and start today's lesson on our family legends and history. My father and Uncle Ian always love to tell us stories about werewolves' history and legends. Sometimes it feels like we are in a class, like homeschooling. It is imperative to learn about our history and legends. This is because we can pass it down through many more generations, just like it was passed down to us from earlier generations before us. When we finished cleaning up after breakfast, we all walked into the library. This is huge and one of the most spacious rooms in the mansion. There are so many types of books on different subjects and even novels by many authors from all over the world. The library is so huge that it is like a mini version of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., but of course, the library does not have any werewolf history or legends like ours.

Our library is two stories high, with a few wooden ladders that slide around the library, two big, beautiful glass doors that lead out to the garden, a skylight that is the shape of a wolf's paw print that lets in lots of light, and a big desk-type table with some comfortable chairs. The library is very peaceful in the early mornings, such as when drinking a cup of coffee while waiting for the sunrise. Anyway, it was time to learn more about our people. We all sat in the library with our notebooks, books, and pencils, ready to learn. Suddenly, my dad came in with a fresh pot of coffee and a donut in his mouth. My uncle and I came in a few seconds later and said...

"Alright, let's get to learning, and since we have the younger kids here, let's just start over again." "In addition, we need to refresh the boys' minds because they always fall asleep," Uncle Ian said as he walked to the writing board to start writing the outlines of werewolves' history.

"Alright, let us start." Werewolves are also known by another name called "lycanthropes," a human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf. An old English word means "werewolf," which is "man-wolf." "The history of the werewolf has roots in many diverse cultures all around the world, dating back thousands of years," Uncle Ian said while talking with a donut in his mouth.

"Do you know what he just said? I have no clue what he said about that donut in his mouth." Colt inquired, confused as always.

"To do my werewolf homework for the next month, since I am helping Mom and Aunt Karen plan Hazel's party," I said while trying to get him to believe me.

"Max, how about we ask Dad and Uncle Ian if you can attend the next meeting?" "I am sure they will not mind," I said while cheering him up. TV put the popcorn bowl on my side table, and I fell asleep while sharing my comfortable, warm bed.

"Nice try, twin, but you still stink at lying." You better watch that tongue. As Colton copied my notes into his notebook, he said, "You don't want to lose it after all the lies you've told me over the years."

"Hey, don't forget to do my homework." "Being the beta has its rewards, especially with the ladies," Troy said while wiggling his eyebrows and smiling ear to ear.

"HEY! SHUT THE FUCK UP, OR I WILL BITE YOUR DAMN TAILS, AND I WILL BITE HARD." I AM TRYING TO PAY ATTENTION TO UNCLE IAN; ALSO, DON'T TEMPT ME; YOU ALL KNOW I WILL DO IT," Hazel screamed at the top of her lungs like she was in a horror movie.

"Bro, she is even scarier than Mom and Aunt Karen when we get into trouble for missing our curfew." Now I know where she gets the whole "don't mess with me attitude look," Troy said while hiding underneath his desk, which is why he fears Hazel becoming mad.

"Don't be such a baby." "You know you are, like, sixteen years old, and you are afraid of cats?" Colton said this while playing with his pen and tapping the desk.

"Alright everyone, it seems like we need to do more homework since you were not paying attention except for Max and Hazel." "You both can go to the kitchen and help make lunch," Uncle Ian said while standing in front of our huge table and desk with his arms crossed.

"Not my fault." I love homework. "How about giving me a paper so I can write what I learn and know about our wolf history and legends?" Colt said, sounding sarcastic while packing up his stuff to leave the library.

"You know what, Colt?" That is not a terrible idea. "Thanks for the idea, so now you all will write a six-page paper about our history and legends, and it will be due at the end of the month." Uncle Ian said this while grinning.

Colt, you are an asshole; you know that. Thanks a lot. Now I have more homework to do. You are damn lucky you are twenty feet away and not next to me, because I will rip some hair off you while in wild form. "Well, now you cannot defend yourself while turning," Kaylie said angrily while growling from her chest.

"Calm down, Kaylie, or you will need a dog shock collar." "It would be funny, though; every time you get all moody like this, I can destroy you," Colton said while trying not to laugh.

"Oh, you will get it; pay attention, Colt." "You better sleep with one eye open; don't worry, I won't do anything embarrassing like put makeup on you while sleeping and take a picture of you all pretty." Kaylie said this while packing up her book bag and standing next to Charlie.

It is enough, guys. Excellent job being a good role model for the younger pups. "Now all of you just shut up; you all are giving me a headache, and I have more homework to do on top of school projects to do," I said while rubbing my temples on each side of my head.

"Alright, everyone, get out of here and go eat some lunch before I give you guys more homework." "Oops, I just realized that I was the one who had to read and grade your papers unless Adam is willing to do that for me." My uncle Ian said this while walking out of the library.

Simply great. I have more homework to do, thanks to my twin brother. Sometimes he needs to learn to shut his mouth and open it again. "If he ever does it again, I will make sure he wakes up with a fresh makeover," Kaylie said while typing on her phone.

"Hey Kay, let's get the damn paper done, and I should calm Hazel down with some cookies," I said while turning off my phone screen while looking at her.

"Yeah, let the boys have their turn with the books since they need them more than us because they are always slow with their homework anyway," Kaylie said while getting off the table.

After we left the boys alone in the library, we found Hazel to calm her down. Who knows what she will do? Hazel can sometimes have hissy fits about homework, but at least she gets to write, which I love. Today flew by.

so fast in the blink of an eye. I cannot believe tomorrow is Monday. This is a good thing because I get to see my crush Alex again, and we get to work on our art and history project together. I love how he looks, like a marshmallow melting in the fire for s'mores. Anyway, after calming Hazel down, we all decided to come into my bedroom. I watched a movie of her choice with lots of popcorn and cookies, which always helps. Since Hazel fell asleep, Kaylie and I started to get ready for bed and get ready for school tomorrow. After we were done, we decided to head to bed to sleep since my bed was a king-size bed. It can fit all three of us.
