18. The Vampire Hunters

Have you heard of vampires before, or even creatures of the night? Well, vampires are known as the creatures of the other night, which everyone thinks is true but is not. The truth is, we are the other creatures of the night, the good guys, and we are called protectors. This is unlike vampires, who prefer to think they are the only important thing. As a child, I heard many stories about violent and antisocial people. This is especially the case when it comes to seeing us in public places, knowing they cannot start a fight or kill us at the snap of a finger. One time, I heard they liked to kidnap adolescent werewolves out of nowhere and turn them into killers, like a secret weapon. I am not sure if it occurred or not, but years ago an entire pack of wolves went missing and were never found, which is why we improved our security details to ensure it never happens again. Sometimes the older teenagers like to tell the younger pups horror stories about the vampires and how they like to steal children in the middle of the night, straight out of their beds while sleeping, or how they like to pretend they are humans hidden in our community and will snatch you out of nowhere. I used to believe in that sort of stuff, but my mother informed me it was just silly rumors or myths floating around town. I always tell the younger pups not to worry about vampires because we have our own defense of superheroes and sidekicks.

While I was blindfolded and my hands and feet were tired, I heard a familiar voice, but I could not recognize it. It was difficult to understand the voice due to his accent, which made it difficult to understand at first. However, I knew who it was. From one of Alec's friends, I was able to learn about his voice and scent. However, I could not figure out why he was one of the bad guys holding me hostage. All I could think was, "Why me?" "And how am I allowed to get out of here?" My brother will know I am missing due to our twin bond and telepathy. We have this special "radio station line" that only we can talk on, and it is our way of staying connected when we need each other or just want to talk. I just remember that if I am ever in trouble or need him, I can always depend on him. He always saves me. I tried to tap into our mind link to send some help-me messages, but somehow it did not work well when I was in human form and, well, of course, all drugged up by the evil blood-thirsty vampires. I have lost track of days; I even gave up trying to contact my twin brother, and I just wanted to die, especially being stuck in this hellhole of a place and being abused.

I woke up to the sound of the basement door opening. My blindfold fell to my neck, and I saw two vicious, bloodthirsty vampires standing there and looking at me like I was a juicy piece of steak. Their eyes were glowing red, and the veins on their faces stuck out in a quince of thirst. Despite their speed and bite, I could not move an inch because I was terrified. I blinked for a second as some of them faced me and said...

While touching me, one vampire said something that sent shivers down my spine and shocked me. This was as if I had been thrown into an ice-cold bathtub or a frozen lake.

"Unless you try to escape or misbehave, I will have to bite your neck, and I would love to taste your sweet, juicy blood," the other vampire said, winking at me.

"Stop messing with the girl and don't freak her out because I will have to meet our leader, who should be here in a day or two," the first vampire said.

Yes, you are right, but we can have fun, especially seeing how far she gets with one of us. "I hear the fifty nasty wolves call us the "bloodthirsty creatures," and we like to kidnap innocent wolves and turn them into us," the one with a scar on his neck said.

"Answer me, girl, or I will bite your neck, and if anything happens, it will not be my fault," the other vampire said in a scary voice.

I looked at the vampires with tears falling down my face. I never cry when I am scared, but at this moment, there was no doubt in my mind that I was scared. I knew I was scared, knowing I could die at any moment from these bloodthirsty demons. I showed them no fear. The most trustworthy leaders of our kind raised me, so I learned a few things, like protecting myself and defending the bloodthirsty creators. At one point, my dad thought it would be fun to dress up as a vampire for Halloween to scare my mom, but that didn't work out so well, especially when she sent him to the hospital with a broken nose and a nice skillet-sized bruise on his face, which made me giddy inside and made me feel a little better about trying to get used to being stuck in this creepy, cold basement.

Meanwhile, the vampires are talking about their plan for me when the leader does not want me. I have heard things like people killing me, cutting me up, and feeding me as their house pet. I have also heard of them having me for their weekly family dinner meal. I dislike the idea of it being their version of a fancy festival. My skin crawls just thinking about it, as if I am wearing something disgusting on my body. Suddenly, I snapped out of the idea of being cut up and served on fancy golden plates. I saw an unfamiliar face, but I could smell Tennessee whiskey in his breath from across the room. The smell was so overwhelming; it smelled like he had drunk a whole bottle of cat poop that had been sitting on the floor for a month. It made my stomach turn, which almost made me vomit. The leader of the big, bad, bloody, thirsty vampire walked up to me and said...

Well, what do we have here? He looked so beautiful, and I bet she tasted delicious in both ways, if you know what I mean. He bent down and flashed his fangs at me.

I told him, grinning and laughing.

"What do you say, little girl?" I would watch what you say, especially when talking to the head leader. "You don't want me to throw you over my shoulders and take you somewhere I can teach you a lesson," he responded in an angry voice, which scared me for a moment.

"Whatever you see, sweet checks, and I hope you know you cannot harm me." "I am the female alpha, and when my twin brother gets his direct, you will be the one in the cold, nasty-smelling basement begging on your knees for him not to kill you," I warned him with an alpha tone of voice.

"Shut the hell up, you filthy bitch," he said, and he chucked a water bottle at my feet.

I did not notice what you were doing during your period because I did not know vampires get periods. Oh, and honestly, your breath smells so offensive; it is like a cat-pissed version of Tennessee whiskey, and it makes everyone run away screaming. I said this while laughing so hard that I almost vomited.

"Did she just burn him like that without holy water?" one of them asked, leaning against the basement door and guarding it in case I broke free or something.

"Yeah, we would be entertained for days, and she is proficient at burying people without holy water," the other vampire said.

"Both of you shut the fuck up and try to find my son." I finally found him just the right wolf to satisfy all his needs. "She can probably satisfy my needs and be my companion pet," he said, and then touched my cheek with a smile.

"In your nightmares," I spit in his face, "or, should I say, in your dreams?"

Be a good girl, and you will not get hurt. "I am hungry, and you smell so sweet, I might have to taste you," he said, winking.

"Send yourself to hell." You can all burn in hell with some extra holy water. I yelled as the other vampires left and left me with the leader.

He injected a syringe of sleeping medication into my neck.

My eyes were closed; my brain felt weird like it was unplugged; my heart felt like nothing was beating in my chest; and all I could think of while I was passed out was, "Who is his son?" and "What did he say he wanted me to do?"
