Chapter 11: Weight off the Chest

Date: May 22, 2019.

When Bonnie got back in their firm, she was shocked to see someone in front of her blabbering and asking a lot of stuff.

"Bonnie! where the hell did you go? are you hiding something from me?," Carylle ran after Bonnie and stopped in front of her. She couldn't help herself but to know what the 'tea' is all about.

"What do you mean? I told you, I took care of something outside," Bonnie replied not looking into her friends eyes.

Carylle noticed Bonnie panicked slightly thus confirming that there is indeed something going on. She continued on interrogating Bonnie until she say the truth.

"And...where is this outside? and what is this something?"

"Fine, I'll tell it to you but not here," Bonnie gave up since her friend isn't backing down on knowing her issue with Devon.

Bonnie didn't want to tell it to anyone but Carylle her friend and she was someone who Bonnie can trust. She also figured that it would be good if she can tell her problem to her close friends so she can lift the burden off her heart.

"Ok! let's go at the deck bitch so you can start telling the tea sis!," Carylle replied to Bonnie as excited as she can be.

"What! Can't we do it later? since we have a lot of pending work to do," Bonnie argued. The reason isn't actually because of work but because she doesn't know how to tell Carylle that she broke up with Devon.

"No we can't, work can wait but I can't so come on!," Hearing this made Bonnie sighed in frustrations. Although they have a lot of work, those needn't to be rushed. They actually have a lot of free time for the week.

Once they are at the roof deck, Bonnie scanned the surroundings, checking if there are any other person in the deck besides the two of them. Carylle, on the other hand, dragged Bonnie in the nearest bench so they can start talking.

"So...," Carylle started, gesturing to go on and slightly lifting her eyebrows at her friend.

"So...I really don't know where to start," Bonnie said while forcefully smiling. The fights and painful memories flashback all of a sudden inside her head making her a bit emotional. She repressed those feelings for a week focusing at her career. Now, she feels like she's going to explode any moment now.

"Hey..." Carylle was startled when she noticed the atmosphere emitted by Bonnie suddenly changed into a depressing one. She was somehow guilty forcing Bonnie to talk about the topic.

"You don't have to force yourself. I'm sorry for pushing you...,"Carylle added. She had no idea that what her friend was hiding was something heavy and very personal.

"No, it's fine. I wanted to lift this off my chest too," Bonnie replied headstrong, looking at her friends eyes intently. It's now or never, she thought.

"Ok, I'll lend you my ears"

"Devon...and I decided to...divorce," Bonnie uttered while looking up in the sky as she didn't want her tears to fall down.

"What! My God, my poor friend, then how are you feeling now?," To say that Carylle was shocked would be an understatement. She assumed that everything would be going well with their relationship but she thought wrong.

"I felt as if it's the end but I know someday, I can recover from it," Bonnie admitted that she felt down and depressed but at the end of the day everything will fall in its right place. She knew that soon it'll get better.

"Do you mind to tell what happened?" Carylle asked for permission as she would not like to force Bonnie to tell her painful experience again.

Bonnie didn't mind. On the contrary, she felt like telling Carylle would be a good idea. Bonnie started from the very start of the problem up to their final resolve. She mentioned the scenes detail by detail as well as their conversation and even what she felt during those times.

"Wait, so you're telling me that when you were fighting with Devon that night, he mentioned someone else's name?" Carylle caught an information she can't overlook into.

"Well, yeah he did slipped on something like having dinner but I don't think there was something wrong. However, it made me so furious that night. What he said about Erin...I think that's her name...added to my anger that night so I got impulsive on the divorce thing," Bonnie explained.

"Wait! we can't overlook into that Erin girl! What do you mean having dinner? I know I haven't met her yet but I don't feel goof about her," Carylle said as she rolled her eyes on Bonnie.

"I feel like Devon just said that because he was really annoyed. After he realized what he said, his reaction really did change and it softened," Bonnie defended her now soon-to-be ex-husband.

Deep inside her, she thought that she has no reason to be angry because of some girl since they are both free now. She doesn't like the idea of it but Bonnie wanted Devon to be happy even if it means dating someone else. she'll just be happy for him.

"Ok fine, stop defending him now. I know you're still broken and It's time for you to start chasing other things. Don't dwell yourself in that matter anymore. I'm your friend so I know you better than anyone and I know you can pull it through! You go gurl! Just call me whenever you need me,"

Hearing what Carylle said made Bonnie breakdown. She badly needed someone who she can lean on. She expected Devon to be by her side when she feel this kind of gloominess but too bad he was the cause of it.

"you know what...we should throw a party for you being single again! it's like welcoming you to a new free life!" Carylle added.

"I don't think I am ready for that kind of conversation Carylle," Bonnie said while lifting her hand up at her friends face.

"Ok fine I won't force you anymore. Just know that you can call me whenever you need someone you can drink with hehe," Carylle winked making Bonnie laughed. She'll reconsider it if she'll be in the mood for some, Bonnie thought.

After an hour of talking, Bonnie felt like a thorn was removed from her heart. As the day goes on, Bonnie realized how her conversation with her friend uplifted her mood a little. It was nice knowing that there will be someone willing to listen to your rants and she was glad to have Carylle as this someone.
