Jayson found his voice back but unlike the other confused faces present in the hall, he seemingly acted shocked and too captivated by the man who betted 50 million dollars for a mere ring...

His action also attracted Hattiea's attention immediately as she frowned at him deeply.

Indeed, she'd heard the name of 'Jordan Lawrence' before in her career multiple times but just like others, she never met before in events like this.

He was never seen in public. Today was indeed special to have him here out of all the places.

But that didn't surprise Hattiea much like the fact that he was the same man who tried to molest her back in the hallways?

He was none other than the god father of the entertainment and fashion industry round the entire states of America, the same creepy stranger who tried to kidnap her earlier?

Acknowledging all this, Hattiea's noticed also Jayson's dumbfounded face, with a hint of curiosity for that man.

Jayson seemed to act like he knew something about that man.

With a heavy doubt Hattiea questioned.
"Do you know him?"

She asked hoping for an answer that would not surprise her anymore, as obviously she couldn't handle any unexpected thing this night.

But to her ask, Jayson nodded seriously.

"He is the one, our next investor!"
As soon as he uttered those words Hattiea's eyes widened.

By investor, did he mean...

Seemingly, Hattiea knew that Jayson's agency wasn't doing too well lately, the condition was rather worse now that she stopped working with him for past week.

In her absence, situation was a lot worse than ever before.

It took them years to built the name for the agency but now for reasons unknown, the company wasn't coordinating well lately.

They not only lost all the important models this year but also had only one super model that was Tiara signed with few contracts, that too got either canceled or postponed because for her pregnancy controversy...

Deep down Hattiea knew the reason behind all this.
Both of them were responsible for that to be honest, the main problem was Jayson's heavy dependency on Hattiea at work.

Indeed, Hattiea was handling everything alone at work and seemingly Jayson took her dedication for granted for years.

Not just in their relationship, Hattiea seemingly demanded Jayson's cooperation at work too but she seemingly expected way too much from him.

Because all he ever did was attending meetings which were arranged and finalised by her, getting benefits from the deals she had brought for him all the time.

Indeed, that was too troublesome for her.

Since past few days after discovering Jayson cheating on her behind her back, Hattiea had distanced herself from the work, which also indicated that she was unaware about most of the things going on at work at the moment.

Seemingly it took her a moment to realise what Jayson really meant by 'investor'.

He was a total mess without her, everyone knew that.

Especially after she was gone, all the burden of work solely fell up on his shoulders alone and that was obviously something very difficult to handle at once, Jayson who was always habituated to have his things prepared by Hattiea beforehand, now was struggling without her.

That made him realise how important Hattiea was for him and the company in actual senses.

Jordan Lawrence, the chairman of Lawrence's was the multinational investor.

Lawrence's label was the dream for many agencies as the name belonged to the god father of the entertainment industry.

Lawrence's are rumoured to buy rich shares and offer collaborations which benefitted so many companies in their industry.

The label Lawrence's was famous and successful but picky too at the same time. They are rumoured to choose and invest on the ones that would invite success.

They had strict policies which needed many approvals.

Jayson's company was already going on heavy loss and hence his only target and hope was their investment with someone huge like Lawrence's label.

Which was a dream for any agency.

Hattiea remembered Jayson suggesting the same idea of contacting them before but again she wanted no risk at that time.

It was also because, they were too small of an agency back then to try getting Lawrence's attention for an investment.

They were not sure back then hence they dropped the idea at that time.

But now?

After 2-3 long years of making some sort of progress in the industry, should they try and take the risk now?

Hattiea knew how big of an investors like Lawrence's that have their sectors and branches all over the America may demand something harsh in return, which Jayson's agency obviously cannot afford at this time.

They were at their lowest point...

And even if some sort of miracle do happen which will lead the Lawrence's to invest in their company somehow, then who's going to guarantee about the aftermath?

What if after having Lawrence's as their investors, their agency's shares still went on losses? Who's going to be responsible for that?

Jayson obviously...

Is he that stupid to not get the fact that he has absolutely nothing to risk it all at the moment?

Maybe he is stupid.

Jayson was taking a huge risk and Hattiea knew that if they failed again after a heavy investment of a big multinational company like Lawrence's then their company will be bankrupted in no time.

Hence she rather wanted to rebuilt everything they had all over again, sure slowly... but wisely!

But what exactly happened in this span of 1 week that Jayson had to think about investment all of a sudden? 

What exactly happened in her absence that Jayson mentioned the term investor for the Lawrence's label?

Her eyes widened unbelievably. Realisation hit her hard as Hattiea looked at her so called fiancé with an absolutely shocked and disbelief state.

"You contacted them to invest in our company behind by back?"
Hattiea's airy whisper caught Jayson's notice even in the loud hall of mesmerised guests.

Facing her with his wide guilty eyes, he gulped hardly.

Not able to answer her for first few seconds, he then tried to collect his guts and finally uttered few letters.
"Y-Yes!"

Hearing him, Hattiea's shoulders dropped immediately.

How dare he?' She thought the same minute as she scoffed at his audacity.

Ain't her decisions important for him anymore? Isn't she part of the company too? Why did he do that when she warned him already about the disastrous outcome of the same?'

The last string of hope she had with him seemed to lose up making her hopeless, her eyes turned glossy and red in both anger and disappointment.

Rather with herself, she was mad on her own self that everything happened when she was on leave...

It all happened behind her back.

Such a cunning and selfish move was it!

Betrayal, another one.

In fact this betrayal was even more difficult to handle for her because now the only string of faith and respect that she had for him, was broken immediately.

Turning her heels, Hattiea spoke nothing and stormed out of the venue with her angry steps leaving Jayson behind without having any further word with him.

While at her action, Jayson's eyes widened fearfully.

Acknowledging their beef by this time, few people around them did seem to notice the thickness in the air around him.

They started mumbling about Hattiea's sudden disappearance as Jayson's fear doubled with his impatience too.

Following her right away, he soon reached a place where cameras and people weren't present to record or judge them anymore.

Alone and too awkward to say anything...

Jayson saw Hattiea's figure from afar and approached her with his desperate steps he gulped harshly hearing her sobs, indicating that she was crying.

"Hatti-..."
He intended to hold her hand while she yanked him away from her angrily, causing him to jerk backwards in utter shock.

"Do I even mean anything to you?"
Hattiea cried out not being able to control herself anymore.

His selfishness seemingly had no end at all.

As if cheating on her and making another woman pregnant behind her back was not enough that he had the guts to approach her and bring her here to showcase her to world and clear his disgusting rumours when their relationship wasn't even fine at the first place!

Lastly, such a huge decision behind her back when she was on leave, made it all a lot more worse than before.

What was exactly her place in his life?'

That was one debatable question now because if she was any important person to him then he wouldn't have treated her the way he was treating her...

She never deserved this.

She loved him truly but he...

He cared for none and nothing, nor for their relationship neither for the company they built together for years!

If he cannot respect her decisions then she shouldn't also hope for the same too, she thought for a moment as she sobbed again, too heartbroken to even stand him around her.

"You do, Hattiea. You do matter to me a lot!"
That's all Jayson could utter at the moment sounding as sincere as he could sound the best to make her stop crying.

But it wasn't helping Hattiea a bit, who glared at him with her glassy contacts.

Wiping her tears aggressively with the back of her hand, she stepped ahead angrily.

"I do? Then why the hell did you contact Lawrence's when I literally told you not to! Do you even know what could be wrong if we fail again, you will have countless debts on you and our company will be bankrupted. That's the sort of aftermath you can't afford at the moment Jayson!"
