D I A M O N D

"I can no longer allow you in my heart, if anything... you will only have me for the sake of the favours you did to me in the past. Business is what you always chose, business is what you are going get from me."
Hattiea firmly cut Jayson's statement off, shutting him up for a good couple of minutes to process her words in complete shock.

Her eyes were cold as she looked right into his ones, making it crystal clear for him to get her denial right.

She wasn't going to get infatuated by his sweet talks ever again.

He made enough fool of her, now not anymore.

Acknowledging Hattiea's guided speech against him, Jayson gulped in silent guilt.

He too knew well that Hattiea wasn't like any other women who would like to be persuaded with money or any luxurious assets.

If anything, she would want only love and honesty from a person.

Nothing else.

Hattiea was seemingly broken. She was heartbroken and that's what caused her to question her interest in her  relationship with Jayson.

They haven't officially broken up yet and as long as Jayson has her back with the sets of favours he had done to her in the past, he knew he couldn't just let her go that easily, they both know this.

It won't be easy for him to live a life without her.

He was that dependent on her.

Hence, Jayson had to keep her by his side by manipulating her as only in that way, he would have her with him always.

Just how selfish he could be, it wasn't a surprise coming from someone like him. Hattiea knew...

Letting her go was not an internal matter now, cause with her he wasn't only connected with his emotions but also with his business.

He wants her as much as his business wants her.

It's more of a matter of ego now for Jayson.

"Better we shouldn't act up right now. Let's not forget where we are Jayson!"
Hattiea sharply exclaimed before Jayson could have said anything to defend himself.

Back firing him with her strict words, she seemed not so interested to continue the conversation any further.

Jayson forced her to come and attend the event with him in order to showcase her in front of the world, not even caring about her feelings for once.

That was enough of a reason for her to get that he wasn't the same Jayson anymore whom she once loved.

With her words, she clearly hinted her wrath for him. Letting him know that nothing is going to be the same anymore after what he did.

Jayson breathed in deeply as if he was calming himself down to look more contained and unfazed by her ignorance. Even though he so wanted to talk to her and hold her in his arms tightly.

But he too knew none of that would make any difference to Hattiea who already made her mind to not get affected him anymore.

It was all useless.

He knew.

The least thing he wanted was her to think that way, Jayson wasn't only doing this for business. although he did have his business involved in between their relationship.

He was at a huge fault for that.

Sure business matters to him the most but their relationship matters to him too.

Jayson seemingly still had feelings for Hattiea even though he had been selfish in the past. He still was still regretting, cheating on her.

Nothing can explain why he heartlessly confronted her back in her house like that, he still regretted not treating her right while he still could have.

And none of those regrets would make anything better between them anymore.

Jayson focused on wanting to clear the rumours of cheating first, he wanted to clear the dirt on him first and then settle his problems with Hattiea.

But obviously that's not how relationship works for Hattiea, he forgot.

He made a huge mistake to underestimate Hattiea in all this.

"Hattiea, don't get me wrong babe. I really do want you back and maybe I did act like a jerk earlier but I seriously cannot lose you, I cannot even think of a day without you."
He tried explaining himself regardless her not giving any fuck.

Hattiea decided to just ignore him while moving her eyes back to the stage.

"Okay we will talk about it at home..."
Jayson uttered with his defeated tone while not receiving any reply from her after that.

Hattiea's eyes were darted on the diamond jewelleries again, appreciating the designs but nothing caught her mind to the extend where she couldn't resist herself and participate in the bidding.

Being a women of tight morals, she was strict in case of spending her money recklessly.

She rather decided to keep quiet and admire the sets than bidding for them.

"We have recorded such a tremendous response with this auction of asian diamonds, now may I request to move on to our most impressive and expensive work. The last but not the least!"
The host, man of 50s spoke in delight while, the guests' eyes glistened in wild excitement.

Everyone's attention was darted ahead in heavy suspense.

The most priced jewel till now went up to 15 million dollars. The last jewel was going to be more expensive than that?

Incredible!

"Mark 680, this isn't a set but a ring!"
The host continued as the people started mumbling about it now.

A ring so expensive than the all those previous diamond sets?

It had the guests wonder, what could be so special about the jewel?

"With 100 fine green engraved diamonds guided with the main diamond of Cullinan, holding pure 26 carats of platinum band!"
The host announced as the guests's gasped in utter shock.

Cullinan was the rarest and indeed the most expensive one among the all kinds of diamonds possibly being showcased before. It owns the power to shine even in the room of darkness, the colourless and the most purest stone to be owned by any ordinary.

All the guests present in the hall had quite of a knowledge about the diamonds and they all knew well that Cullinan was one rare diamond to bid for.

The monarch of England has owned 9 of Cullinan Diamonds under her possession till now. It is a part of her royal treasure.

The kind of Cullinan was hard to find anywhere.

Hence being auctioned tonight was indeed one of the biggest shock.

In this charity auction, it was an unexpected thing to happen. After so many decades Cullinan has been discovered somewhere?

It was a hard to find diamond for sure.

"To kill your curiosities I won't hold your patience for much longer, may I represent 'The Moon Diva'!"
The last and most awaited jewel of tonight finally showed up in the view and every single pair of eyes with curiosity followed the stage with extreme admiration.

Whispers increased, the large diamond of cullinan in the middle gained the main spotlight but the green diamonds did add more charm for the show.

Shining proudly, the rich audiences were amazed by the work of the creator.

A sense of pride hugged everyone to witness such an art and Hattiea was no different from any other guest at this point, who found herself lost looking at the jewel.

She admired the ring with her orbs appreciating the fine work in front of her, her lips curved up into a smile as she saw the diamond weirdly controlling her senses.

She liked it. She loved it.

"Beautiful!"
She whispered with her eyes still being enchanted.

"Illustrated and described well in your catalogs is the 'The Moon Diva' last, worth 35 million dollars!"
The host settled the bidding amount as then the hall filled with riches became shocked.

That was the largest starting bid in the history of Asian diamonds' auction.

A moment was required to recover from the shock before gaining any response. People were dumbstruck.

"35 million dollars for a mere ring? This is so dumb!"
Jayson's tone sounded irritated from the left.

Hattiea let a bitter scoff out at his reaction, never once looking at him.

Indeed, the price was way too high to start a debate about but it was worth the rarest possible diamond on the earth now.

Cullinan was only owned by the monarch of England till now, hence in order to possess it... the person has to overlook the amount and respect the art.

"35.5 million dollars!"
Someone from the crowd started the bid after a moment of silence, although everyone was silent for another minute but the voice did encourage the feeling of competition among the rest again.

"35.5 million dollars 1, and 2!"
The host proceeded with the bidding amount while again someone else's bid silenced the crowd now.

"40 million dollars!
"

People who were now biding, held their ground.

That was the problem of most of the rich personalities. They don't accept defeat that easily. They easily take everything to their pride.

"42 million dollars!"
Another one bade and people kept going with their prices of hell taking the bids as a challenge now.

"45 million dollars!"
Another man proposed his bade after minutes of bidding as slowly people started giving up on their wishes to bid any longer for the ring.

The crowd finally silenced as that was when the host continued to proceed with the final bade.
"45 million dollars, 1 and 2-"
Abruptly being interrupted at the end, someone bade the highest amount to compete with, shocking the crowd even more with his voice.

"50 million dollars!
"

Eyes dark like his personality, the owner of that tone was not an easy man indeed.

Sitting in the VIP section, he silenced everyone else with his rich aura.

There was no competition anymore after that. Knowing his bid was the final bid, the host nodded.
"50 million dollars and sold to Mr.
Jordan Lawrence!"
