Chapter 7

Sienna shoved the billionaire off her and quickly ducked into the bathroom. She closed the door and locked it before Declan could react, which forced him to return to his seat. Sienna felt her heart racing as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She wet her face with water and tried to understand why she kissed the enemy.

“Get a hold of yourself.” She said aloud to herself and returned to her seat after using the toilet.

Declan watched the waitress walk back down the aisle and sit down. He couldn’t understand why every part of him wanted to hate her when in reality, he found himself growing attached to her. He decided it was best that moments like the kiss they shared did not happen and fell back into silence. The private investigator tried to talk to either of them, but they weren’t interested.

Eventually, the flat table mountain of his city and vast blue ocean came into view as they flew into Cape Town. Aaron and Sienna stared out the plane’s tiny window and looked at their new life. The aeroplane landed, and Declan stood up as the air hostess indicated it was safe to do so. Sienna grabbed her things and hurried after the billionaire as he swiftly walked away. He didn’t wait for them, and her legs were still jelly from the long flight.

As soon as Declan walked into the airport, he was on a call with Kian. Sienna looked around and was amazed by the vast colours of people’s skin that were around them. They spoke many different languages she had never heard of and tried to take in the new surroundings while keeping up with the billionaire.

“South Africa is fascinating,” Aaron mumbled in Korean, and Sienna agreed. People briefly looked their way but focused mainly on Declan as they walked past. He walked past a poster of himself which Sienna was surprised to see. His company name FosterA stood out boldly in the airport, and people recognised him quickly. Sienna looked away as one woman flashed their phone and took a photo as they walked past.

“My driver is in the parking lot,” Declan remarked and pressed the down arrow of the elevator. The doors flew open, and he stepped in. Sienna gasped and grabbed onto the handle as they moved down. The feeling was new and strange to her, as it was her first time on an elevator. Both men smirked at her and found her response to new things cute.

The door opened, and Zem was waiting by the car ready for them.

“Hello, Zem.” Declan greeted and shook the driver’s hand. He seemed awfully friendly with his driver, which Sienna found odd.

“Hello, Mrs Declan. Let me take your bag for you, madam.” The driver smiled, and Sienna found his accent strange but cute. Mrs Declan? Even his driver knew they were to be married.

“Hello, sir. Aaron Wohoon.” Aaron greeted and shook the driver’s hand. Zem opened the door for Sienna then put the bags away in the boot as the other men climbed into the car. It felt weird to have someone helping her, and she sat at the back while Aaron and Declan sat in the row in front of her.

Sienna was glued to the window as they drove away from the airport. She was amazed by the waves that crashed against the shore and wondered what the ocean water felt like. Cape Town was indeed a rainbow nation and filled with many cultures. She loved how the people dressed and stared at the different shops as they drove past. Her eyes grew wide as a skyscraper with massive letters on the side came nearer. This was Declan’s company building, and they drove into the underground parking lot.

“Thank you, sir.” Sienna sweetly said to the driver as she climbed out of the car after the other men. He smiled at her and closed the door behind her. Sienna followed Declan and Aaron to another elevator which opened to reveal a young man holding a clipboard.

“Welcome back, Mr Foster.” He greeted.

“Kian, this is the private investigator, Aaron Wohoon and Miss Sienna Chae-Soo,” Declan responded as the elevator moved up. Kian gave them both a short nod, then said, “The doctor is here as you requested, sir and the personal stylists are on their way. I have all the documents ready for mister Wohoon, and your chef was instructed that you will have 2 guests tonight. She asked if you prefer chicken or lamb, sir?

“Lamb.” The billionaire replied, and the elevator doors flew open. “Aaron, go with Kian. He’ll discuss arrangements to add you to my firm. Sienna, follow me.” He ordered, and they split. Sienna followed Declan into a room where he greeted a man in a doctors coat and a female nurse.

“Hello, Miss Chae-Soo. I’m going to take a few tests and blood samples to check your health. If you are okay with that?” The nurse asked, and Sienna nodded. “Okay perfect. You can sit right here.” She added and gestured towards an examination bed.

“How was the flight?” The nurse asked as she pressed a stethoscope on Sienna’s chest.

“Long but not too bad. I quite like flying.

“Take a deep breath in… and out.” The nurse instructed, and Sienna obeyed. “Okay, I’m going to check your ears and throat next. Then take a blood sample, and I need you to step on the scale.”

After the nurse was done, the doctor walked over and introduced himself. He explained he was going to be the doctor who delivered Sienna’s baby and would help her along with the pregnancy. He did an ultrasound, and Sienna saw the little bean again. Declan stood by the bed and stared at the screen.

“It’s too soon to determine gender, but your baby is growing well. Congratulations, Mr Foster.” The doctor smiled. The nurse handed Declan a brown bag full of medicine and a file while the doctor printed the ultrasound.

The file said Sienna had acute malnutrition but was overall healthy, which made Declan thankful. He thanked them then led Sienna to the waiting room, where Kian and Aaron were.

“Kian, make us all some tea, please.” Declan instructed, then added, “I hired some stylists to create a new wardrobe for both of you. Aaron, as my assistant explained, you will stay in an apartment on my property free of charge. You can choose to eat with us or have your meal alone, up to you. Sienna, Aaron here will be your personal bodyguard. When I am not around, he will be with you at all times.

“I can protect myself.” Sienna frowned.

“Point 14 of the contract. You will accept any protection that I feel necessary.” The billionaire snapped. “I have many enemies, and as the mother of my child, I will ensure I take precautions to keep you safe.

“Thanks.” She mumbled as the assistant walked back into the room. He handed Declan a box, then placed her tea on the table in front of her.

“Uh, yes… Sienna. Here is our engagement ring.” Declan stated and shoved the box onto her lap. He was definitely not a romantic. Sienna opened the box and felt her heart explode. A unique pear-shaped gold rose ring stared back at her. It was beautiful and elegant, with a band decorated in tiny diamonds.

“Don’t lose it. I spend 50 thousand on that ring.” The billionaire said and sipped on his tea.

“I won’t,” Sienna replied as 2 women walked into the waiting room. Sienna put the ring on her finger, which was a perfect fit and watched the two women. They were both dressed elegantly and gave Declan a kiss on his cheek.

“Oh honey, we are going to take good care of you.” The one smiled, and the other pulled Sienna up onto her feet.

“You’ll probably gain a bit of weight, so I’ll say a 6. Probably a small top and 28 in pants.” A woman stated, and the other measured her waist with measuring tape.

“Yes, exactly.” The one who measured Sienna smiled. “A size 5, shoe. I’m thinking of more soft colours to match her tone. What do you think, Del?”

“I was leaning more to bold colours, actually Tor.” The lady named Del replied.

“Ladies, can you hurry up?” Declan asked, annoyed and checked his watch. The ladies mumbled to themselves and took some more measurements before moving to Aaron. The tea was sweet and tasted delicious, so Sienna took her time to sip it. Declan watched her silently and noticed how she had good posture, drank tea like a true lady and was always gentle. He walked off and went to make a cheese sandwich in the kitchen, which he placed in front of Sienna when he returned with her medicine.

“Eat, then take these,” Declan remarked and sat next to her. “I’m trying to be kind to you, but I’ve never had to hide my temper before. I’m sorry if I snap and shout all the time.” He added, which surprised Sienna. Was the billionaire trying to be gentle?

“Thank you, Declan. For everything.” Sienna softly replied and bit into the sandwich. She wasn’t hungry, but she knew she now ate for two people and needed something in her stomach for the medicine. She often just placed her hand on her stomach to comfort herself and patiently waited for Declan to let her know what to do. The billionaire and private investigator walked away discussing business and left Sienna in the waiting room after the women left. She flipped through the magazines and stared out the window at her new home city.

“Miss Chae-Soo?” The billionaire’s assistant asked and walked into the room. He handed her a cell phone and explained how to use it. Then showed her where to find the number of her parents’ retirement village, her brother’s hospital, and her friend Kim’s number. Tears glazed her eyes as she held the phone.

“Thank you, Kian.” She smiled and, as he walked away, dialled Kim’s number.

“Sienna! Oh my gosh, girl. Are you okay?” Kim asked, worried and answered the call almost instantly.

“Kim,” Sienna said into the phone with a smile. “I’m fine. I’m in South Africa.”

“This random man just gave me this phone and said to keep it near me for when you phoned. I’m so happy to hear from you! Was that him? Did the billionaire drag you away from the abortion clinic?” Kim questioned, so Sienna told her everything about the contract and what happened leading up to now.

“You’re married?!” Kim gasped.

“Well, not yet. I’m engaged. The contract said we’ll be married over Christmas, that’s in a month.”

“I hope I get invited! How’s he treating you?

“He’s awful.” Sienna trembled. “He’s trying to be kind, but it’s too late. I hate him.”

“I’m sorry, girl. Maybe give him a second chance. There’s no backing out, so you can just try to make the best of the situation. At least then you won’t be miserable.”

“You’re right. Thanks, Kim. I hope you are well.

“Don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Your brother is getting better. I visited him yesterday, and your parents are also well. Stay safe, okay? Don’t let that billionaire hurt you again.” Kim replied and then hung up. It was nice to hear her friends voice again, and Sienna held onto the cufflink on her necklace. It had been tucked away and hidden beneath her shirt but still bought her comfort.

Sienna tucked the cufflink away, grabbed her bag and set off to find the billionaire. She walked into his office and found him at his desk. He looked up and was about to yell at whoever just barged in but then laid eyes on the waitress.

“Oh, Sienna. Is everything okay?” Declan asked and stood up from his desk.

“No, I’m just bored. Will we stay here much longer?” She asked.
