Chapter 10

Declan walked into his house, and his personal phone started ringing. He groaned and ignored it while he poured himself some whiskey. He sat on the couch, and the phone rang again straight after it ended.

“What!” He yelled into the phone without checking the caller ID.

“Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?” A cocky voice replied.

“Ryan, what do you want?” Declan asked and rolled his eyes.

“I’m hosting a masquerade ball tomorrow evening. I noticed you have not responded to my invite yet. So I decided to phone and tell you to check your email.” He replied.

“Why would I attend such a thing?

“Oh, so I can meet your new fiancé, of course. I want to see the lovely lady that stole your heart… I mean seed.” Ryan chuckled.

“Shut up, Hoffman. I have to start making our relationship public in any case, so I’ll see you there.” The billionaire said and hung up. He took off his tie and walked towards Sienna’s room with his drink. He unlocked her door and walked in without evening, waiting for her reply. He found Sienna asleep on her bed while the television was still on and downed the rest of his drink.

She looked so peaceful and had already started gaining weight, which made her body have more curves. He switched off the TV and slowly sat on the bed next to her. Declan watched her sleep for a bit and felt his eyes grow heavy; he lay down and fell asleep next to her.

The billionaire shot awake as Sienna screamed next to him and pushed him off the bed the next morning. He landed on the floor with a thud and groaned as his head hit the wooden floor.

“Why are you in my room? In my bed!” Sienna shouted and covered her body with a pillow.

“Ouch!” He mumbled and stood up. “I fell asleep okay.”

“Why were you even in my room to start off with? Get out!”

“I wanted to tell you that we going to a masked ball tonight, but you were asleep.”

“Why didn’t you leave and tell me when I woke up? Like a normal person!” She questioned. Declan found himself at a loss for words; she was right. He groaned and walked off towards the door.

“A dance instructor is coming over, so you don’t feel embarrassed tonight. I would like to dance with you. As the contract states, we will be in public, so we act like an actual couple.” Declan added, then walked out her door. He pulled out his phone and asked Kian to arrange for an instructor to come over to his house today, which he had just thought of.

“Yes, sir,” Kian answered, and the call ended.

Sienna got the fright of her life when she woke up and found the billionaire next to her. She relaxed back onto her bed as he walked away and looked over at her wardrobe door. A ball? Dancing? What was she going to wear?

She sprinted out of bed and went through her cupboard while tossing all the dresses onto her bed. Mrs Grace walked into the room after Sienna called her on the intercom and found the poor girl on the floor with her head on her knees.

“Oh dear, what’s wrong, Miss?” Mrs Grace asked.

“I… I don’t know how to dress for a ball.” Sienna replied with a frown.

“Don’t worry, Miss. I used to help Miss Aideen get ready all the time. Now let’s see what you have.” She smiled and helped Sienna onto her feet. They went through all the clothes, and Mrs Grace shook her head. “These are nice, but I think we meet something a bit more. I have an idea, Miss. Will you trust me to sort out your dress while you go eat breakfast? Mr Declan said you can leave the room.” She asked, and Sienna nodded.

“Thank you so much!” Sienna cheered and threw her arms around Mrs Grace to hug her.

“It’s a pleasure, Miss. I’ll pack these away; you go ahead to the dining room.” Mrs Grace added.

Sienna walked off and felt herself calm down; she was in good hands. Mrs Grace would make sure she looked the part. She walked into the dining room and found Declan and Aaron smoking.

“Good morning, gentlemen.” She greeted after clearing her throat and grabbed a slice of French toast off the tray in the middle of the table. They gave her a nod as she covered the French toast in tomato sauce and dug in.

“My assistant will also be joining us tonight as I want him to meet Hoffman. He seems quite fond of you, Aaron. We are going to sort out some business, but it’s also a social event, so have some fun. Meet a lovely lady or gent, whatever you into.” The billionaire stated.

“Yes, sir,” Aaron replied with a laugh.

“Uhm, Sienna?” He asked, and she looked up. “I have to go to work, and I’ll get ready there. Please be prepared to leave when I return home. The party starts at 6, but we’ll be slightly late.” Declan added.

“Okay, what type of dances should I know?”

“Ballroom and the instructor will teach you how to do a unique Afrikaans dance, the Sokkie.” He replied and excused himself, then left for work.

“Do you know how to dance, Aaron?” Sienna asked.

“I am fairly decent.” The investigator shrugged.

“I love dancing, but I’m probably going to screw up and embarrass myself.”

“You’ll be fine. The worst that can happen is that you trip and fall.” Aaron laughed, which made Sienna glare at him. The dance instructor arrived soon after breakfast, and Sienna changed into an athletic outfit.

The instructor was a kind, old woman that had been dancing her whole life professionally. She trained Sienna until she could do the steps easily, and the day flew by. Soon it was already 5pm, and the instructor had to leave.

“Don’t worry, dear. You will be fine.” The instructor told her before leaving.

Sienna rushed to her room and quickly took a bath.

“Miss? I lay out your dress on the bed.” Mrs Grace called from the other side of the bathroom door. “I’m quickly going to fetch your mask. Don’t get dressed yet. First, we’ll do makeup.” She added, then walked off.

Sienna finished up in the bath and wrapped a towel around herself. She opened the door and gasped. A gorgeous dress was on her bed. It had a lace top with a plunging neckline and long solid bottom with thigh-high slits.

“I wanted you to have something elegant and sexy. That colour will match your skin beautifully.”  Mrs Grace said behind her. She held a black lace mask that looked like an artwork of a butterfly, with one half broke wing.

“Both of these are gorgeous. I can’t wear something so beautiful.” Sienna said with tears in her eyes.

“Miss, you are stunning, just like this mask and that dress.” Mrs Grace smiled and told Sienna to sit, so she could start doing her makeup. She did a dark grey smokey eye with false eyelashes and a bold red lip. Mrs Grace then did her hair into a half-up, half-down style and curled it slightly, so it looked wavey naturally.

Sienna stared at herself in the mirror and held onto the cufflink on her necklace.

“For the final touch, Mr Declan had a necklace delivered.” Mrs Grace stated and helped her take off her cufflink necklace. A diamond necklace with many small diamonds on the chain and a solid diamond heart was placed around her neck.

“This was from Declan?” Sienna asked, amazed.

“Yes, he wanted you to have something special to wear.” Mrs Grace smiled and stepped back to look at Sienna’s final outfit. Sienna had on a pair of sexy black dancing heels which she could effortlessly walk around in.

Sienna couldn’t stop thanking Mrs Grace for all her help and then walked off towards the lounge to wait for Declan to arrive. Aaron was already waiting in the lounge when she walked in, and his mouth dropped when he looked at her. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

“Wow, Miss Sienna. You look… I can’t even describe how beautiful you look.” Aaron finally said after staring at her.

“Thank you.” She smiled. Aaron wore a plain black suit with a bow tie and black mask to match. “You look incredibly handsome,” Sienna added, which made him blush. They waited and chatted a bit until the sound of a car stopped outside and hooted.

“He’s here,” Sienna mumbled, and butterflies exploded in her stomach.

“Ready?” Aaron asked as they walked towards the front door. She nodded as he opened the door for her and stepped out.

Declan stood by the car and watched as his drop-dead gorgeous fiancé walked out. He felt his heart stop as she walked over to him; her hips moved as she walked, which caused the material of her skirt to sway. She looked sexy, and his body instantly responded. He put his hands in front of his crotch and shifted his pants.

“Sienna… you are… incredible.” The billionaire said, which made her feel like bursting into flames. He wore a solid black suit with an open collar, black shirt and a silver mask. He looked deadly attractive and was fit to stand next to such a beautiful woman.

She smiled at his compliment and brushed past his arm as he opened the door for her. Electricity shot through her body, and she released a small gasp which luckily Declan didn’t hear. He felt fire spread across his skin and tried to control his thoughts as he walked around and climbed in next to Sienna.

“Thanks, Zem.” He said to the driver, who started the engine and drove off. Sienna’s perfume drifted from her, and Declan looked over at her. She stared out the window, and he felt his heart glow from being in love with the waitresses beauty.

“Mr Foster, I hired 5 extra men to keep an eye on you and Miss Chae-Soo at the party,” Aaron remarked, and Declan gave him a short nod.

“Why do we need so much security?” Sienna questioned.

“Precautions.” Declan quickly replied. “Many wealthy people will be at this masquerade ball; we need to be safe.” He explained.

Actually, word of Declan’s engagement to Sienna had spread, and his enemies had threatened to kill the woman he “loves”. Anyone who wanted Declan to fall would target them in the belief that if she died, then he would fall to pieces. The billionaire was slowly starting to make Sienna his weakness and felt something for her that he didn’t know how to handle. The feeling was new, and it scared it.

They drove up to a hotel that was surrounded by a crowd with cameras that constantly flashed. Aaron climbed out first and walked around to open the door for Declan. The crowd called his name and snapped pictures as he held out his hand for Sienna to take. She genuinely smiled as she climbed out and walked her hand in the billionaires towards the hotel door.

“Mr Foster, is it true this is your fiancé?” A woman shouted.

“Miss Sienna!” Another man shouted, which made her look his way. He snapped her picture, and she quickly looked away.

“Listen up!” Declan yelled, and the crowd fell silent. “This is my fiancé, Sienna.” He stated and then looked at Sienna. “I love her very much.” He loudly added and gave her a quick kiss. The cameras went off, and something about how he said it made Sienna’s heart race.

“That isn’t part of the contract,” Sienna mumbled for only Declan to hear as they continued walking on.

“It was just a kiss, and the public loved it.” He whispered as the doors of the hotel opened, and they walked in.
