Chapter 6

“Mr Foster, here are all the documents of the waitress that you require.” The private investigator stated and handed him an envelope. They had travelled to the hotel where Sienna worked, and the billionaire waited in the restaurant for her arrival. The private investigator proved to be a valuable source of information and arranged for Miss Chae-Soo to leave the country with all legal documents.

“Thank you, Aaron.” Declan nodded and read over the documents Sienna filled in for the abortion clinic. He was surprised to discover the waitress was only 23, 16 years younger than him. Declan was already 39, but most people assume he was in his late twenties because of how well he looked after himself.

Her birthday was on 13 January 1995, which meant she was born on Friday the 13th. Declan didn’t believe in supernatural events such as that, but he hoped the waitress wouldn’t bring bad luck in his life. He had gone through enough misery to get where he is today. He continued reading and made a mental note to remember her birthday; that’s when he saw what she put down as the cause of her pregnancy. Rape… the waitress claimed she was raped.

“What is wrong, sir?” The investigator, Aaron Wohoon, asked as he noticed the billionaire’s body tense up.

“That little slut!” Declan shouted and slammed his fists onto the table, which made the waitress in the restaurant scream. Luckily, they were the only table, and Aaron caught his beer before it toppled over. “Read this crap!” The billionaire said through his teeth and shoved the papers at the investigator. Aaron ran his hand through his silver hair and read what made the billionaire upset.

“At least she did not write down your name, sir,” Aaron stated as he noticed Miss Chae-Soo claimed the father was unknown.

“Fuck! I regret ever making the deal to sleep with her in the first place.” The billionaire groaned and looked out the glass doors to where he saw his pretty little waitress walk into the hotel. He started walking towards her, and the private investigator scurried after him in case he tried to hurt Miss Chae-Soo.

“How dare you?” Declan yelled and curled his fingers around Sienna’s throat. Her eyes grew wide as she dropped her bag to try to move the billionaire’s hand off her neck as she couldn’t breathe.

“Sir, we are in a public area. You do not want authorities to be called.” The man behind Declan quickly added. Declan glared at the waitress, who struggled for air and tossed her aside before storming out of the hotel. He needed to learn how to control his anger and rather found a wall to punch instead.

Sienna dropped to the floor and gasped for air as tears streamed down her face. She didn’t understand why the billionaire was so angry with her and held onto her neck, which was now in pain.

“Miss, are you okay?” The man that saved her life asked and bent down to help her up. She looked at him and recognised his silver hair and oversized brown coat. It was the same man she ran into just the other day. “It’s okay. I’m sorry.” He stated and pulled her into a hug. Aaron let the waitress cry on his shoulder and looked around; luckily, no one had witnessed the incident, and he helped her walk into the restaurant.

“I’m going to get your things.” He stated and left Sienna at a table. Aaron returned in a few minutes with her bag and a bottle of water. He noticed the waitress now had brushes around her neck and quickly took off his scarf to wrap around her neck.

“Thank you.” Sienna hoarsely remarked and took a sip of the water. “What did I do to make him….

“He found out you wrote you were raped on the abortion papers, but that is not an excuse for his actions. Are you okay?” The man questioned.

“I shouldn’t have written that. I’ll be fine.”

“Mr Foster is a violent man and has a terrible temper. Are you sure that you wish to leave with him?”

“I have to. Who are you anyway?”

“Aaron Wohoon, private investigator. Mr Foster hired me to watch over you when he left North Korea.” Aaron honestly replied and saw the waitress’s eyes widen like she had been betrayed.

“You have been watching me? You bought that bastard back!” Sienna yelled and slapped Aaron. His cheek stung as his head flew to the side. Okay, maybe he deserved that, but she had to understand that was his job.

“Sorry, Miss Chae-Soo,” Aaron stated, but Sienna looked away and ignored him. “I shall go find Mr Foster and return to collect you when he is ready to leave.” He added, then walked off.

Aaron found the billionaire sitting on a bench near the parking lot with a cigarette. As he approached, Declan looked up. The private investigator noticed the skin of Mr Foster’s knuckles were split open and bleeding.

“Is she… okay?” Declan asked and killed the cigarette. He hated the taste, but it seemed to help calm him down when the method therapists recommended didn’t work.

“She is alive. Few bruises, which I covered up with my scarf.” Aaron responded.

“And that?” The billionaire asked and gestured towards the red handprint of Aaron’s cheek.

“Miss Chae-Soo did not like that I am a private investigator.” He replied, which made Declan chuckle.

“Have you thought over my offer?”

“Yes, and I am going to accept. I believe I will have a better future under you, Mr Foster.”

“Good. Welcome to the FosterA company, Mr Wohoon.” Declan smiled and held out his hand. Aaron nodded and shook his new boss’s hand. He had been offered to work as Mr Foster’s personal private investigator and would be moving to South Africa with them. Aaron had nothing in Samjiyon that held him back and made it his responsibility to ensure that Miss Chae-Soo would not be harmed.

Sienna sat at the table and waited for Aaron to return. She hated both him and that billionaire. At least now, she had stopped crying and slipped away to the bathroom to check on her neck. His fingers had caused bruises, and she felt grateful the scarf hid them away. Some part of her believed she deserved his punishment. No man should be falsely accused of rape, and if those documents had to be leaked, then Declan’s reputation and everything he worked for would be destroyed.

His anger scared her, and she wondered what it would be like when the private investigator was not around. She shook her head and forced herself to find out where those two idiots went.

“Mr Manager?” Sienna stated after knocking on her boss’s office door.

“Miss Chae-Soo? You are not working today.” Mr Manager said, confused as she walked into his office.

“Sir, I came to inform you that as of today, I quit.

“Quit? But what of your family?”

“My… fiancé has agreed to help me take care of them. I leave for South Africa today.” Sienna firmly stated and hid all emotion from her voice.

“I did not know you were engaged.”

“He proposed today.”

“I see. Congratulations, Miss Chae-Soo; I wish you well for all the years ahead. You will be missed.” Mr Manager smiled and got up from his desk to give Sienna a hug. A tear fell down her cheek as she hugged her boss and quickly wiped it away before he could notice. Sienna turned around and walked away before Mr Manager realised she had put on a strong act.

Sienna walked out of the hotel and looked around for the billionaire. She headed towards the parking lot and saw him sitting on a bench next to the private investigator.

“When do we leave?” Sienna asked after clearing her throat, which made both men look her way. Declan blew a cloud of smoke, which drifted towards the waitress and watched as she stared at him disgusted.

“After we collect all your things.” The billionaire responded.

“I have everything I own.” She replied and shifted the bag that was on her shoulder. That was it? All she owned fit into one tiny bag? Declan frowned when she said that and walked over to her.

“I’m sorry about….” He apologised and attempted to move the scarf to see what he had done. Sienna shoved his hand away and took the cigarette from him. She placed the cigarette on her lips and inhaled. As she blew the smoke into his face, she dropped the cigarette and killed it under her shoe, then walked off towards the car.

Declan felt a smile spread across his lips and watched Sienna walk away. She was defiantly a fascinating woman, and he was impressed with her confidence.

Aaron unlocked the car and watched Miss Chae-Soo climb into the back seat.

“You have your hands filled with this one.” Aaron chuckled as Declan walked past him. The billionaire was about the climb into the back seat with Sienna when she locked both doors from the inside and glared at him. He rolled his eyes and instead climbed into the passenger’s seat next to the investigator. Sienna was the first person ever to deny Declan what he wanted, but he respected that she wished to have space and be left alone in the back seat.

“Make yourself comfortable. We have a long drive to the airport.” Declan stated loudly for Sienna to hear, who didn’t even look at him when he spoke. He left her alone and switched on the radio as Aaron drove away.

***

Aaron walked in front of her as they boarded the aeroplane, while Declan was close behind her. No one spoke on the drive, and she ignored both men when they tried to spark conversation. Aaron found their seats and sat next to the window as Declan demanded he wanted to sit next to the empty walkway, which meant Sienna was forced in between the two.

She had never been on an aeroplane before, and as it took off, she grabbed Declan’s hand to comfort her nerves.

“Is this your first time flying?” Declan asked as the waitress closed her eyes and squeezed his hand. She nodded and relaxed when they stopped increasing altitude. Sienna also pulled her hand away and went back to ignoring the men. During the flight, she fell asleep, and her head leaned over on Aaron’s shoulder.

“Uhm, Mr Foster?” Aaron stated and gestured towards Sienna.

“It’s okay. Let her rest.” Declan remarked and wished she had her head on his shoulder but let her be. It was going to be a long flight.

Sienna woke up in the middle of the night and wiped away the drool from her mouth. She quickly moved her head off Aaron’s shoulder and noticed the men were asleep. She stood up and carefully made her way past Declan to go to the bathroom. He grabbed her hand and stopped her before she could walk on.

“Where are you going?” Declan asked, half asleep. His voice was extra deep which made him sound extremely attractive.

“Can’t I go to the bathroom?” Sienna irritably asked and yanked her wrist out of Declan’s grip. She walked off to the bathroom and was spun around. Declan pushed her up against the bathroom door and stood uncomfortably close against the waitress.

“Watch your tone with me, woman.” He snapped and lowered his voice to not wake the other passengers. Sienna’s heart raced, and her gaze met his.

“The contact does not control the way I speak to you.” She angrily replied. Declan felt his anger rise and glanced down at Sienna’s lips. The sudden urge to kiss her sparked in his mind, and he crashed his mouth down onto hers. Even though Sienna hated the man, she felt her body crave his touch and instantly kissed him back. They made out against the bathroom door, and his hands moved underneath her shirt, which threw Sienna back to reality.

What was she doing?
