Chapter 12

Aaron Wohoon went straight to his apartment and locked the door behind him when they got home. He placed the file on the table and took out the masks that were in his pocket. He accidentally went home with Kian’s mask and ran his fingers over it.

Kian’s gorgeous light brown eyes and blonde hair entered his thoughts. He found himself attracted to the assistant and didn’t understand why he felt connected to him when they held hands. Did this mean he was gay? He put the mask down and went to splash water on his face. He still liked women; heck, he found Miss Chae-Soo extremely attractive. Perhaps he was bisexual?

Whatever was happening to him was new and made him feel confused. Why was Kian the one to bring out this side of him? Yes, he was kind, sexy, had an adorable smile, he smelled nice all the time… hardworking, accepting. Aaron smiled at the thought and looked at himself in the mirror. He looked happy. He had never been able to keep a relationship going for more than a few months before, and he never understood why he always got so… bored. Maybe because they were all with a woman?

“Okay, just calm down. You don’t know what this means. Just ignore it for now and focus on work.” Aaron said aloud to himself and remembered the file. He made some coffee then sat down at the dining table to read over the documents. It was 3am when Aaron read the last sentence and ran his hand through his hair. Declan Foster was so much more than he let people know.

Was he ready to get involved and continue to work for the man? He had some thinking to do.

***

Last night, Declan and Sienna went their separate ways as soon as they got home. This morning she woke up bright and early, got dressed and grabbed an energy bar from the kitchen. She decided to do some yoga next to the pool and found a video she would follow.

The warm air flowed against her face as she stepped outside. Declan was swimming laps, and she watched him vigorously swim through the water. She thought of ditching her yoga and going back to her room to stay away from the billionaire but decided they needed to be able to be in the presence of each other and still function. Sienna laid out her yoga mat and sat down to practise breathing techniques.

“Oh, good morning,” Declan said as he held onto the side of the pool near Sienna and watched her sit there.

“Morning,” She replied without looking at him and didn’t break her concentration.

“What are you doing?” He asked with a small laugh.

“Prenatal yoga. It helps with mental and physical health during pregnancy.”

“Okay, enjoy.” The billionaire remarked, then continued swimming laps. Sienna followed her video and laughed at herself when the poses felt weird. Declan smiled at her and tried to focus on swimming but found himself distracted.

“Swim with me,” Declan said and broke Sienna’s concentration.

“I don’t know how to.” She frowned and remembered the beach incident.

“I’ll teach you.

“Okay, let me go change.”

“Just swim in your underwear. I’ve seen you naked before.” Declan shrugged. Sienna thought it over and decided he was right. She got undressed and sat with her feet in the water. Declan swam up to her and pressed his cold chest against her legs.

“Is that… is that my cufflink?” He questioned and stared at the cufflink on her necklace. Sienna quickly covered it with her hand and felt her face heat up as she blushed. “It’s okay. You can have it.” He added and sounded quite gentle.

“I kept it as a reminder of you. I didn’t think I would see you again… and I just grew attached to it.” Sienna explained and looked back at the billionaire.

“I’ll never leave you again, Sienna.” He softly stated, and she nodded. He then helped her into the water, and luckily she could stand, which helped calm her nerves. Her underwear was now wet, and she looked attractive, which Declan tried to not think of. He held her as she kicked and moved her arms and taught her how to float in the water. It was nice to be around her and have her close to him. He felt calm around her as they smiled at each other and splashed around in the water.

“Did you ever think of me… after that night we spent together?” Sienna asked as they floated in the water.

“Every day. You didn’t leave my thoughts.” Declan honestly replied and looked at her. Her long hair floated in the water around her, and her face had water droplets that shined in the sunlight. As a water goddess, she looked so beautiful, and the billionaire felt this heart glow again.

He looked away and decided it was time to get out. Sienna followed after him, and he handed her his towel so that she could dry off first.

“Mr Foster,” Aaron said and walked out of the sliding door towards them. Declan protectively stepped in front of Sienna to hide her as she was just in her underwear and quickly handed her the towel. Aaron quickly looked away and apologised.

“Yes, Aaron?” Declan asked and felt Sienna rest her head against his shoulder. He loved how comfortable she was around him and prayed he didn’t screw it up. Things were starting to get good for him.

“Sir, I just wanted to let you know that your sister has left you 5 missed calls,” Aaron replied, then walked off so that he could leave them alone again.

“Great. Aideen probably wants to know about us.” Declan mumbled and turned around to face Sienna.

“Will you tell her the truth?” She asked, and Declan stared at her pretty mouth as she talked.

“No.” He shook his head and ran his thumb across her bottom lip. The sexual tension between the two of them was unbearable, but he had to go phone his sister back. “I better sort out my little sister before she rocks up at the house.” He muttered and then walked off. Sienna put her clothes back on then walked after him to listen in on the call. Declan was in his office, and she stopped next to the door to eavesdrop. Yeah, it was wrong, but she couldn’t help her curiosity.

“Hello, Aideen. How are you, sister?” Declan asked and put the call on the loudspeaker as he poured himself a glass of whiskey. It was early, but this conversation needed some alcohol.

“Declan cut the small talk. Why didn’t you tell me you were engaged? Fuck, I didn’t even know you were seeing someone.” Aideen said on the call and sounded a bit frustrated.

“I… have been seeing her for a few months. We met when I visited Korea to finalise that offer; remember I still offered for you to join me, but you refused?”

“I didn’t refuse. I had to work.”

“I don’t know why you waste your time teaching. You could be here running the company with me in Cape Town.

“You are changing the topic, Decie. I still want to know why you didn’t tell your only sister that you were proposing! If I hadn’t read the headlines, I wouldn’t have even known.” Aideen huffed, and he imaged she was pouting right now. Something she always did when upset.

“Sienna is… different. She didn’t come from a wealthy family, and I didn’t want anyone to impact how I felt about marrying her. I wanted us to get to know one another without influence from the outside world.”

“I would never judge her! You should know me better than that; I would have supported you no matter what. Plus, I can keep a secret. If you didn’t want mom and dad to know, then I wouldn’t tell them. Well, I’ll probably tell Caleb, but that’s it.”

“Okay, I should have told you. I’m sorry. How is that detective boyfriend of yours anyway?”

“He’s good, and he treats me so well. But we are speaking about you and Sienna. How did you meet? How did you propose? When is the wedding? Do you love her?” Aideen questioned and started bubbling with excitement.

“I… uhm, why don’t you take a weekend and come visit? We can go away, and you two can get to know each other. She’ll tell you all the womanly gossip.” Declan replied and ignored all her questions.

“Fine. I’ll come when the schools close, and hopefully, Caleb can take leave.

“That would be fine. Aideen, how do you know that you are in love?” Declan asked, and Sienna felt herself stop breathing from his question.

“Well, you will do anything to protect or help that person. They will always be on your mind, and no matter what, they are who you go to for acceptance and love. But obviously, you are in love! I mean, you already proposed; you have to know the answer by now.” Aideen laughed. Sienna walked away before she could hear any more of the conversation. Her heart was racing, and she thought over Aideen’s words.

She and Declan weren’t in love, but they were beginning to develop something between them. Perhaps it was the start of something wonderful or the start of something that would break them both. I guess time would only tell.

Sienna walked off and found Aaron in the lounge with a smoke. He only smoked with Declan, but now he eagerly puffed at the cigarette. She sat down next to him and sighed. Luckily her underwear was lace and dried quickly, but her hair was still wet. Aaron raised his eyebrow at her and put out his cigarette.

“Miss Chae-Soo, are you alright?” Aaron asked.

“Hmm, yes. Just thinking.” She replied and gave him a small smile. He nodded and sat there in silence with her. They had a mutual relationship and respected one another. It was nice to just be around someone who didn’t expect anything from you, and the silence was quite comforting.

Aaron looked at her as she closed her eyes and just rested for a bit. He wanted to tell her everything and tell her to run while she still could. Sienna was a good person, and he didn’t want her innocence to be destroyed by the billionaire. He wanted to protect her and tell her to get away as far as she could… but instead, his loyalties won the battle, and he didn’t say a word.

“If you had to learn something unimaginable about someone else, let’s say they had a superpower or whatever. Would you keep their secret safe to protect them?” Aaron suddenly inquired.

“I think no matter who the person is, if they decided to tell me their secret, I would respect it and keep it to myself. They obviously trusted me enough to tell me, so I’ll prove I’m worth their trust.” Sienna responded. “Why do you ask?”

“Just curious. They asked that question on the radio, and I was wondering what your answer would be.” He quickly lied.

“Oh, okay. What is your answer?

“I would weigh but all the cons and pros first. Then probably decide from there.”

“I wish I had a superpower. It would make life a bit more interesting, don’t you think?” Sienna laughed.

“It would.” Aaron agreed with a smile, and they fell back into silence. He had a decision to make after finding out what he now knew. He could choose to keep the billionaire’s secrets and stay loyal to him or try to tell others the truth and probably be found dead on the street.

Either way, it was up to him whether he could live with the choice, and after talking to Sienna, he knew what his answer was. He could live with the billionaire’s secret and choose to remain loyal to him. He would have done the same if he was in Declan’s position.
