{FOHC} Chapter 7: Miss Missing You

As Aki was driving away, Lucas opened the letter and with an unreadable expression read the contents. He read the whole thing and looked at the bottom.

Before I say goodbye, I just have one question, am I enough for you?

He scoffed and said, "You never were. What makes you think you were? How bold of you, seriously.

After he read the paper he sat down on the couch as he remembered the fight that caused them to part ways, causing him to laugh and proudly pat himself on the shoulder.

"Listen to me, Lun-" Lucas said as he got cut off.

"I've had enough of your lies! Didn't we promise to never leave each other?" Luna asked while Lucas scoffed as he said, "We were young and immature back then, get over it and grow up.

"Lucas! How could you? What do you mean grow up? And everything we did together? Every time we did everything, was it a lie?" Luna said as Lucas frantically nodded.

"Yes! Yes, it was. Now shut up and deal with it, you sensitive bitch." He said as she yelled, "Stop, you know exactly what happened, why, why are you like this even after I told you all I'm going through?!" She yelled.

"Shut up, stop shouting. At least I didn't go after someone who doesn't like me, or cut mysel-" Lucas got cut off once again but this time with a slap. "Why can't you love me back? I'm the same as her, why do you love her but not me? She doesn't even know you exist but I do! I acknowledge everything you do to me and I love it, why won't you love me? I fucking hate you, insensitive asshole! You said you loved me! You really seemed sincere I really do hate you!

"You hate me? Okay, I see." Lucas said as he began unbuckling his belt. Luna was scared, she tried to be brave but was terrified. He fully got it off and he positioned it to hit it where it hurt her the most. The chest.

"Let's see who you hate now." Lucas said as he began laughing and hitting her. Only the sounds of slapping, cries, and begs to stop were only heard in the room, until Luna felt an adrenaline rush go through her and confidently screamed, "Get out! Get out of my house! Your belongings are out." Luna never expected that he'd actually leave, because they always had fights like that. But with those words, he left her alone in that house, for once she felt peace with herself and her surroundings.

She began to sob uncontrollably, finally free from the nightmare. It was as if she was a brand new person. "One emotion I will never feel is miss missing you, Lucas. I will move on someday and I will show you that I am not what you think I am, asshole." Luna sobbed and promised to herself.

The following morning, Luna awoke with a headache. She didn't have the energy to get out of bed, so she continued to lay there. She continued to contemplate her life while gazing at the wall. And more tears started to come out of her eyes. She didn't stop crying as she was thinking about her life.

She wanted to stop Lucas, persuade him not to leave her alone, and give him a warm hug, but she was unable to. However, she was aware that he was already over her and that she would do nothing to make him stop. He has already fallen for another person. Someone who makes her feel anxious about herself because she is everything he wants—someone who is not her, better than her, and much more expressive and lively. She enjoys going for walks, riding bikes, and having fun much like him. Luna isn't all he desires, but he is all she wants.

I swear I could see the stars when I stared into his eyes. Whenever he looked into mine, he noticed galaxies. But over time, what we had once seen turned into a pitch-black void of nothingness. As a quote says "We were meant to happen but not meant to stay.

The sky was filled with thick clouds that were tinted a sickly green that resembled the thick leaves on an ancient tree's limbs. It appeared as rapidly as it did when lightning burst through, piercing the Earth below with a searing anger. Thunder rumbled across the fields, sending shockwaves through the earth that sounded like a small earthquake. Rain started to pour down, shrouding the surroundings in a dense watery mist and giving off a musty, muddy scent while frequent lightning bolts hit the gound. Luna was afraid. She just stayed in bed and put the pillows over her head hoping the thunder would stop. Luna absolutely hated thunder, it scared her.
