{FOHC} Chapter 10: Hands Dirty

Particularly visible against snow is fresh blood. Even on a moonless, starless night like tonight, when it drips thick and ominous blood like oil. However, oil doesn't seem to steam. Up until it reaches a body partially covered beneath silver birches, the oil does not splash red against the white background. Fresh blood streaming down the floor. Cleaning it seems like it's certainly a pain. Quite unfortunate how their fate turned out because it seems that Aki and Luna aren't meant to be together. Flashbacks are the only thing that seem to come up to Aki's brain, haunting her. "Was this the right decision? Am I doing this correctly?" She questioned herself. Tears began to fall from her eyes. She didn't seem to recall anything other than killing the only person in a world that understood her when all the people around her never did.

She didn't seem to recall anything other than killing the only person in a world that understood her when all the people around her never did. She recalled stabbing the love of her life, the sound of her screams, and most importantly, the loss of the only person who had ever given her closure and an actual life she seemed to enjoy. The blood stench filled the house and smelled like iron, so it was time to drag the body and dispose of it. As she was being stabbed, it first came on thick and forceful and flowed through her body. The viscous liquid, which she felt moving over Luna's hand, was neither warmer nor colder than her own skin. After a short while longer, her fast fading flesh was still losing blood, but the pulses were weaker and slower.

She felt everything go blurry from crying, after she disposed of the body she felt lightheaded. She went to go take a rest in the bed, afterall she worked very hard earlier, it really took a mental toll on her. It wasn't easy. Aki's desire to kill people was there but vanished as soon as her father told her to kill Luna.

But before her eyes, there she was. Luna was standing in front of Aki with a huge smile. "I made it!"

As Aki engulfed Luna in a hug, Luna said. "Luna, Luna, Luna! You've back! I missed you so much that I almost gave up. Never leave me again, Luna! I don't think I'll be able to live without you. Luna, how I've missed you. The nights I cried, the nights I stayed up visiting our favorite spots, the nights I wished you were beside my side. You're here, Luna! Luna, I love you!" Aki said as she kissed Luna, to which Luna replied, "Don't worry, Aki, I'm here. I will never leave you until I have properly proved my love for you. I love you!" Luna screamed at the top of her lungs as she said those three words. Luna didn't know how much these particular 8 letters mattered to Aki, she never did know.

Only until Aki had said them to her did she know that these words made her the luckiest woman alive. "Luna, never leave me. If I had to keep being separated from you like this, I'd rather die, I love you more than I love myself." Aki said as Luna giggled and said, "You love yourself too much Aki, starting to think it's impossible. I'm just kidding, I love you more though.

Aki huffed and crossed her arms as she looked away. "Don't tease me!" Aki said as Luna got closer to her and opened her arms. "Come here, you big baby." Luna said as replied with "Yours. Yours only.

"Gladly." Luna responded as she hugged Aki.

All these memories came rushing into Aki's mind as she woke up with tears running down her face, she saw a certain light and that just caused her to cry even harder and louder and finding the bed beside her empty.

No one there.

Then it hit her, she's gone.

Luna's gone.

All of the times they spent together are coming back to haunt her, which is ironic given that she was the one who got her hands dirty to murder her. "Being the daughter of an assassin and falling in love with my father's rival had major consequences for me." She sighed.

She got up and found a photo of Luna and her and quickly picked it up.
She was staring at Luna and it's as if no one mattered except Luna. "I wish I could live without you, but you're a part of me. Wherever I go, you'll always be next to me" Aki said as she felt tears streaming down her face. They were so glossy you could mistake them as a path of crystal running down her cheeks.

"You promised, you promised you'd never leave, so why'd you leave me Luna! I hate you! I hate everything, I hate how I love you so much, I hate how I can't live without you! I hate how you made empty promises and left me suffering. I hate how father made me kill you! I hate how every time I look at everything beautiful I remember you. I hate you so much but I love you. I love you so much, you remind me of my mother, whom I loved so much. You were caring, tender, cold to those who hurt you or others around you, and selfless. I miss you, Luna. Why'd you leave me?"

She sighed as she thought of her life choices; if what she was doing was right.

She will from now on refer to it as a house. It was once a home, but only while Luna was there was it considered a home. It's now a very dark and big place without Luna. She just can't survive without Luna; it's like trying to make an ant survive by itself with absolutely no resources or other ants to help. It's all alone. Luna is everything Aki wants, she's simply everything she wanted. She just wants her Luna back.
