As Luna fell asleep, she began dreaming of a certain memory she had created with someone she loved so dearly.

"You know, for days, I've been waiting for you to give me one good reason to stay. Instead, you gave me thousands of reasons to go. I'll come back someday when the time is right. Until then, I promise I'll claim you as mine, Luna." Luna remembered as she stared at James. Luna then recognized it to be from her childhood friend whom she always sent letters to, James. 

She found James in tears as he looked at her. "What do you mean thousand reasons to go? Instead, I've been the one waiting for you to come. I've waited so long for you. I kept telling myself you'd come the next day, I did that for two years. Two years, James! Every single day, I used to think that you'd come back to me and claim me as yours, James.Yes, we sent letters but it just lasted a week. And yes, I've forgiven you long ago, but I can't come to terms with my heart about it. It's always the same cycle, wait for the mailman to come every day, I even checked my emails every day! But what happened? Nothing. All those days I waited for you. Tell me James, did you even think of me? Did you even remember when you promised me that you'd send me a letter every week? What did you even do for me?" Luna sobbed.

"Luna.." James said as he thought of what he wanted to say. "I let you go. That's what I did for you. I did it for you and Lucas, I can see how much you both love eachother, Remember when I said I had a surprise?" James said after a long pause. Luna remembered the letter while trying to keep her tears in her.

Dear Luna,

I'm sending you this letter to let you know I'm doing well, thank you for asking. Today, it was a hectic day at school, it was so tiring. We had three History lessons in a row. And the teacher is unbearable, I just miss you a lot, I hope you feel the same too. I have a surprise for you, you're going to love it. I hope you miss me too, Luna. You're all I can think of, remember when we first met at the letter shop? I'm grateful my mom told me to go there, I can't imagine such a life without you, my moon.
I'll give you a tiny hint for the surprise; it involves the park. The park we first met in as kids, with that one strange girl named Aki, i don't really like her to be honest. But I won't get too carried away. I hope to see you soon.

"What was that surprise? And what do you mean?" She confusedly asked. "Well, I had booked a ticket to come here after a week because I forgot to give you something really important to both of us, but since I was thirsty I stopped at a convinience store, then I went to our favorite spot the park. I found you and Lucas kissing, so I ran away. Now do you see what I mean by let you go? I'm sorry Luna, but I didn't need any false hope or anything. I loved you enough to accept you loved someone and I let you go. I'd rather have you happy with someone else than be with me and not happy." James said as he looked down.

"Luna, before I go, I have something I need to tell you. In my gloomy life, you were the brightness. I never had to pretend to be happy or fake a smile when I was with you. Because I genuinely believed that you were the only person I needed. My life had color because of you. Every single day, you made my eyes sparkle as they never had before. You would constantly occupy my thoughts, so I stopped thinking of anything negative. You gave me a certain feeling. I felt like everything because of you. So why are you leaving me with nothing again?" He said as he thought of what to say.

"Our love was undeniable, blinded by love. We were so deluded that we were unable to recognize the world's horrors. I suppose you felt the same way until one day. Your eyes stopped glowing, and your smiles grew dimmer. Your normal attitude of joy was missing. You weren't the same woman I had fallen in love with anymore. But I was determined. Determined to getting you back. I was committed to winning back your love for me."

"But as I worried that you would leave me, I started having more bad thoughts. No matter what I did, they would keep coming, one after the other. No matter how many meds I took or how many therapy sessions I attended, they never got any better. You just had to be there for me more. But I took up more and more of your time. And I guess it seems that you just got tired of me."

"But when I saw you with Lucas, smiling so cheerfully as you used to do with me, I knew I could no longer get you back. But I must admit, I truly am happy for you. I'm glad you've found the one. I'm glad you've discovered the person you want to live out the rest of your days with. I'm glad that while I'm here in pain, you're out there having a good time with someone. I'm glad you've met someone with whom to start a new chapter of your life. Although the ink for our portion of your story is finished, there is still ink left for other characters.Others who can take my place. But this does not indicate the end. I'll be in the shadows watching over you wherever you go and everything you do," James paused and continued, "And I'm always available to protect you if you need me. No matter what, Luna, I shall always be by your side as your heavenly protector." He said as he hugged Luna. "Always." He choked a sob as he hugged her for the final time. Luna was sobbing, she never knew he felt this way. She wished she had been more careful and stayed with James. Meanwhile James was trying his best to stop his tears. Then he decided its enough and let go of the girl. Perhaps its goodbye forever? "It scares me, Luna.." He said as she asked with teary eyes, "What?" He continued.

"It scares me that you hadn't believed in my forever, Lunar. Will you be able to do this without me by your side? Luna. Please tell me, tell me once, will you? But you know the biggest question is..

Can I?

Can I live without you not being by my side?" He sobbed.

Luna hugged him once again. "I'm so sorry James. I am really sorry. You told me Lucas was bad from the vibes you got from him. I'm sorry I didn't believe you. You were right, James. You really were!" Luna said as James replied with. "It's okay Luna. Now, get up. I'll always protect you, my moon." 

Luna woke up and rubbed her eyes. Her whole body was sweating and her eyes were teary. She saw the bed besider her empty and looked at the time. "It's three in the afternoon, wow I woke up late." Luna got up and went to the bathroom to wash her teary face.
