{FOHC} Chapter 5: Regrets

Aki sighed as she approached Luna's room, knocking and entering. "Dinner is ready; come down when you are." Aki said tiredly as Luna sat down without saying anything, her eyes were puffy and red. Aki quickly came down and sat at the table. She'd made Luna's favorite food in the hopes that she'd forgive her. As Aki said, "Luna," they began with their spaghetti.

Luna responded with a curious hum. "Listen, I'm sorry for everything I've said. I take back everything; you're an amazing person, and Lucas was fortunate to have you, but was an asshole to you. I understand if you're upset; I just want you to know I apologize, and that I'm aware I was wrong." She apologized as Luna was surprised since Aki never apologized to anyone, even if it was her fault.

"It's okay I guess, I accidentally let my anger out on you. It was just too much pressure for me to keep it in. Apology accepted." Luna said as Aki let out a sigh of relief. "Can we be friends? Can we start over? I have this feeling as if I want to protect you, so may I have that permission to be by your side? I'll protect you from Lucas or anyone. You can call me your knight of shining armor." Aki asked as Luna was shocked and was going to laugh at what she called herself. "Sure, my knight of shining armor." Luna teased as Aki was going red. 'As always, many regrets communicating with this rascal. Why is she like this?' Aki asked to herself while Luna was innocently eating her food. They continued bonding, getting to know each other over again. It felt new, refreshing to the both of them. "Want to go out to a party? I got invited for it." Aki said as Luna began remembering Lucas and James meeting for the first time.

"Oh, wow! There are numerous people present." Lucas played baseball for the school's squad, after all. His group was well-liked by both males and girls. James may not want to admit it, but Lucas was the team's top player and its star. Lucas' had made Luna watch his games because his other friends were preoccupied with their own activities; it's not that Luna had any interest in baseball, but just by watching Lucas play, she suddenly felt interested in the game.

"I'm going to look for Lucas. You folks are free to continue without me." Lucas' best friend at the time, Luna spoke, looking at James, hoping that despite the circumstances, he might hear her. Clair had already ran off, after being astonished by the decorations there. When her girlfriend had realized that her beloved was no longer in her line of sight, she screamed. She let out a sigh and went in search of the girl to properly leash her. The latter grinned and then turned her back on him, signaling that she was ready to leave.

James was invited to follow Jennie as she looked for the other two girls. "We should stick together until the party is ended since it can be rather unsafe to be in a large house full of people." She said as he responded with, "Later, I'll join you. Luna shouldn't be left alone," James spoke to his last remaining friend while casting a sidelong glance at Luna in order to catch up with her once he had received permission. Jennie didn't say anything; instead, she pushed him aside while grinning at him, telling him to leave.

"Luna!" Not wanting her to be startled by his sudden appearance after she had already left, he gently tapped her shoulder. He was grinning at her as she turned her face to him with a bewildered expression. "I'll accompany you to Lucas. Can you tell me where he is?" James started looking around the house for the sought man. Luna was shaking her head and holding her phone when he glanced to his side. "Did you text him, then?" She once again shook her head

"I did. He didn't respond, though." Before putting her phone in her black purse, she sighed. She clearly worries a great deal about Lucas, as was evident. "What I do know is that he's wasted with his stupid baseball team right now." Luna appeared to be simultaneously disappointed and irritated. She previously informed him that Lucas has a problematic drinking behavior, so it makes sense why she is acting in this way now.

She continued to rant about Lucas, and he nodded in agreement as James watched out for him. He had to stop her when he noticed the individuals in front of them grinding at one another nonstop. James took her hand and led her through them before she had a chance to speak. The foul scent of the concoction of sweat and alcohol made him pinch his nose. He gave Luna a quick look to make sure she was alright.

Luna gave him a gentle shove when they had passed the intoxicated crowd. He winced in response to her unanticipated gesture and began to look at the girl who had seemed to have lost eyes. He swears that despite the brightness, he could see Rosé blushing red with embarrassment as she caressed the wrist where he had earlier held her. "Please warn me the next time." He was perplexed by that.

"Oh, please! Don't act as though you're unfamiliar with it." After determining that Lucas was not present inside his own home, he sneered as he continued his investigation by leaving the house and heading outdoors to the swimming pool.

"Yes, but it feels different all of a sudden." She murmured inaudibly. He didn't bother to respond to her because he believed he wasn't supposed to hear what she said.

"There you are, baby!" Lucas appeared out of nowhere holding a cup. Before kissing Luna's lips, he encircled her with his arm. James  observed Luna scowling with anger as he turned his head away. James rubbed your neck while she was with her partner, feeling a little uneasy.

"You're wasted, baby!" Holding his face in her hands and giving him a motherly reprimand, Luna reprimanded him. He pushed her hands away and chuckled in a drunken manner while indicating "no" with his hand. While bringing Luna to his baseball club, he chose not to answer.

'They both eventually walked away from me. When Lunar is with her boyfriend, she always seems to immediately forgets about my existence.'

Right. I'm just her best friend.
