Chapter Seventeen— Irksome Yet Again

Galaxia's POV

It was currently Friday night and Anna was busy rummaging through my closet trying to find 'the perfect outfit'. Sophia and I were seated on my bed watching her with bored expressions.

We spent the whole week together. Going to my company together, talking about meaningless things, going shopping and visiting the cinema.

Of course, I had Crawford inform the malls and cinema of our visit and have them all cleared out for us. At first, Anna and Sophia didn't agree to it, but after remembering my phobia, they accepted.

"Guys, you know I'm not going with you to the club, right?".

I said, trying to clear things out. Anna suddenly stopped and turned to us with a death glare. Sophia flinched under her gaze but I still kept my bored expression.

She sighed and moved closer to us

"Why are you both so boring?". She said exasperatedly and continued,

"We're in New York for Christ's sake, loosen up, live, have fun. You both are just too uptight for my liking".

After a long moment of silence, Sophia sighed and stood up.

"Fine, I'll go. But I'm not getting drunk, ok?".

Anna smiled proudly at her and nodded

"Sure thing. You can be our designated driver".

"Who says I'm going?". I piped in and Anna turned to me again with her glare.

"You're going and there's no one on Earth that can stop me from dragging your ass down to the club, whether you like it or not". She said firmly.

I sighed, rolled my eyes and fell back on my bed defeated. Anna smirked proudly, knowing she had won.

"Now get your lazy ass off the bed and let's get ready". She said excitedly and went back to her rummage.

After what felt like decades of search, Anna emerged from my closet with clothes, a proud look on her face. I looked at the clothes I never knew I had and looked back at her.

"Let's get you ready". She said mischievously. She pushed me to my dress table and sat me down, back facing the mirror.

"Anna..." I whined.

"Don't move an inch". She commanded and started her freakish makeover. I knew I was regarded as a fashion queen, but I was not a fan of makeovers. I only used them for fashion shows to look good, not that I was not already drool-worthy.

For almost an hour, she continued and moved to my hair. I pushed her away and stood up immediately.

"No way in hell are you touching my hair". I hissed at her.

She began to move closer to me again

"That's why we're not in hell. If you haven't noticed, well we're on Earth". She stated matter-of-factly.

"Anna, you know I don't allow anyone to touch my hair. I'm very sensitive about it".

"Come on, Laxy. What are you not sensitive about?" She asked and raised an eyebrow.

"I already agreed to go to the club with you but there's no way I'm giving in this time".

I crossed my arms over my chest and straightened my stance, refusing to back down. We continued glaring at each other and Sophia came out of the bathroom. She looked at us weirdly before saying,

"Uhmm guys, is something wrong?". She asked, but we continued glaring, completely ignoring her.

"Guys? I obviously missed something. What is it?". She asked again.

Suddenly Anna groaned defeatedly and glared harder. I smirked, knowing that I had won.

"Whatever, just get dressed and let's go". She said exasperatedly.

I rolled my eyes and head into the bathroom to get dressed up. I stepped out and saw that Anna and Sophia were ready.

"Took you long enough". Anna said as she glared at me.

"Anna, I took 5 minutes! Just 5 minutes! Calm down, ok?".

"Whatever, which of your cars are we taking anyway?".

"I thought you were mad at me. Since you're mad, you can catch a ride elsewhere while Sophia and I drive to the club. We'll see you there". I told her with a smirk on my face.

She sent me her signature glare and grumbled under her breath.

"Laxy, how about we take that white SUV of yours? I really love it". Sophia exclaimed excitedly, ignorant of the death glare Anna kept giving me.

"White SUV? Which one is that?". I inquired confusedly.

"You know, the one you purchased in London? That you really like driving. If you brought it here, that is".

I groaned and replied, finally remembering what car she was talking about. "of course I did. I love that car so much". I head to my bed and plopped down on it, remembering what happened to my Cadillac and getting angry again.

"Well, we can take it right?". She asked again.

"You can have the car if you want it, Soph. Some godforsaken son of a cherry hit my car. That bastard!". I said, my fist clenching and unclenching in anger.

"Son of a cherry?". Anna mocked me, trying to stifle her laugh.

"Don't make fun of me, Anna. You know I don't cuss". I said angrily. She raised her hands in surrender and said,

"Geez sorry. Someone's capricious". She muttered and I glared at her in return.

"I'm really sorry about your car, Laxy, but which one are we going to the club with?". Sophia said,

"We can take the Cadillac. I already fixed it and since you love the car as much as I do, you can have it".

"Really? You mean it?". She asked excitedly.

"Yes, Soph. I mean it. You can have it".

"Hey, what about me? What do I get?" Anna piped in.

"Nothing, you get nothing at all. I'm angry at you".

"Come on, Laxy. You know I love you so much and I was just trying to make you look beautiful".

"So I looked ugly?!". I asked in bewilderment.

"No no no, of course not. But it wouldn't hurt to look more beautiful". She said sheepishly. I rolled my eyes and said,

"Fine, I'll--".

"You can ask for whatever you want later, Anna. Let's get to the club already. I want to give my new car a test drive". Sophia interrupted and clapped excitedly.

"Alright, I'll ask later. Let's go, girls!". Anna also said excitedly and we all headed downstairs.

We entered the car and Sophia started driving. Anna called shot gun so I had to sit in the back. A song started playing on the radio.

Remember the words you told me, love me 'til the day I die

Surrender my everything 'cause you made me believe you're mine

Yeah, you used to call me baby, now you calling me by name

Takes one to know one, yeah

You beat me at my own damn game

You push and you push and I'm pulling away

Pulling away from you

I give and I give and I give and you take, give and you take

Youngblood

Say you want me

Say you want me

Out of your life

And I'm just a dead man walking tonight

But you need it, yeah, you need it

All of the time

Yeah, ooh ooh ooh

Youngblood

Say you want me

Say you want me

Back in your life

So I'm just a dead man crawling tonight

'Cause I need it, yeah, I need it

All of the time

Yeah, ooh ooh ooh...

"Change the station. The song's boring". I said out of boredom. We had been driving for what felt like hours when it had just been three minutes.

Anna and Sophia let out a rather dramatic gasp simultaneously and Anna shouted,

"What the heck is wrong with you, Laxy?! How can you call the ultimate 5 seconds of summer's song boring!".

I groaned and rubbed my ears

"Pipe down, Anna, my ears hurt and who's 5 minutes of summer?".

"It's 5 SECONDS of summer. You know the Australian pop rock band from Sydney, New South Wales consisting of drop-dead gorgeous lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, stunning lead guitarist Michael Clifford, handsome bassist Calum Hood and amazing Ashton Irwin".

Sophia said all in one breath and ended with a dreamy sigh.

"Ring a bell?". Anna asked.

"Sorry, never heard of them".

"What? How could you not have he--".

Anna started but I interrupted her.

"Before you start mocking or insulting me, no matter how much I listen to music, I pay no attention to the singer of the songs I listen to. Therefore, you can't blame me for not knowing them".

"I will continue to say this, you are so old school. You belong to the '80's, you know. You, a woman whom everyone looks up to as a so called 'fashion queen' and creates in Vogue fashion items doesn't even know 21st century musicians". She scoffed and continued,

"The irony".

Ok that was it. She was so going to get it.

"Hey you--".

"We're here". Sophia chirped, cutting me off from giving Anna the ultimate tell off of the century.

"I can't stand your arguments. Now, get out of my car". She said. I simply sent her a glare and turned to Anna with the hardest glare I could muster.

"There's no way you're getting a gift from me. Mark my words". I said and got out of the car. I stomped my way to the club entrance where a man, I was assuming was security, stood.

Sophia and Anna caught up to me and stood by my sides.

"Name?". He asked in a deep voice.

I was in no mood to talk right now, so Sophia just answered

"The three musketeers".

Say what now? The three musketeers?

"Who chose that name? Wait, don't tell me. It's Sophia, isn't it?". I mumbled and Sophia smiled sheepishly in reply.

"She insisted on choosing the name". Anna said. The man went through the list and finally said,

"Ahhh, here it is. The three musketeers, VIP section". He said in amusement, probably because of our entry name.

"Head in, ladies". He said and opened the door.

We walked in and instantly 'River by Bishop Briggs' started playing. Picture this in slow motion, three ladies all dressed in outfits that screamed 'bad ass' walking into the club like they owned the place and a song that went thus...

Like a river, like a river, sh-

Like a river, like a river, sh-

Like a river, like a river

Shut your mouth and run me like a river

How do you fall in love?

Harder than a bullet could hit you

How do we fall apart?

Faster than a hairpin trigger

Don't you say, don't you say it

Don't say, don't you say it

One breath, it'll just break it

So shut your mouth and run me like a river

Shut your mouth, baby, stand and deliver

Holy hands, will they make me a sinner?

Like a river, like a river

Shut your mouth and run me like a river

Choke this love 'til the veins start to shiver

One last breath 'til the tears start to wither

Like a river, like a river

Shut your mouth and run me like a river...

... started playing. Dramatic, I know. I looked around and saw sweaty and drunk people. I saw men surrounded by ladies who were pretty much walking around, naked. Looking around, I noticed we were probably in the basement of the club and it was a place specially for people with minute dignity.

Combination of things I despised- sweaty, sticky people, people who lacked dignity and people in general.

I leaned over and whispered in Anna's ear,

"Anna, I think you forgot to clear the club". She looked at me confusedly and asked

"What?". Damn, don't tell me Anna forgot about my phobia.

"Anna! My phobia!". I whisper-yelled in panic. Her eyes suddenly widened in realisation and she quickly dragged us through the crowd of sweaty people. She quickly covered my eyes as Sophia covered my ears as we swept through the throng of disgusting bodies.

We stopped at a more secluded place and Anna frantically apologised,

"I'm so sorry, Laxy. It skipped my mind. I'm so sorry, I forgot. Please forgive me".

I looked at her pained and sorrowful expression. I knew she didn't mean for that to happen. No matter how irksome Anna was, she wouldn't do something that could harm me.

I smiled at her and flicked her forehead.

"That's for insulting me in the car. Now, let's get to the VIP room. I hope it's quieter and has less animals in it".

"It should be, because the club is very expensive to enter and the VIP section is even more expensive, so a lot of people can't afford it".

She smiled back and hugged me while mumbling a 'I'm really sorry, Laxy'. I hugged her back and said

"It's fine, Anna". Sophia joined in the hug and we stayed like that for awhile before entering the VIP room, which was less crowded and quiet.

The people there appeared to be more decent and mature than those animals outside. I felt a little bit better.

We settled down and Anna and Sophia bombarded me with questions.

"Are you ok?" "Do you feel uncomfortable in any way?" "Do you want us to leave?" "We can leave if you want us to. It's no big deal" "I'm really sorry, Laxy. I'm so stupid. Of all the things to forget, I had to forget your phobia" "It's also my fault, I should've reminded her instead of--".

"Guys, it's ok. I'm fine. I'm not uncomfortable and if I am, I will let you know immediately, ok? Now calm down and stop blaming yourselves". I said, cutting off their rants.

They sighed in relief and nodded their heads.

"Would you like a drink?". Anna asked.

"Sure. But nothing strong, ok? You know I don't take alcohol. I'd like to be sane tonight".

"Don't worry, I won't make another mistake". She smiled and called the waiter over. We placed our orders and the waiter walked off.

We chatted for awhile and the waiter brought our drinks. Sophia, being her nice self, thanked him and tipped him off. He smiled at her, thanked her and walked away.

I rolled my eyes at them and we continued talking.

"You remember the time when papa King tried to cook and ended up almost burning the house?". Anna said and we all burst into laughter.

The memory of my dad trying to cook came into mind and I laughed even harder.

"Then after turning off the cooker, mama Esme began to chase him around the house with a pan in hand".

We burst into laughter yet again. I remembered how many injuries my dad sustained from my mom's beatings, then she had to take care of him.

We continued laughing until my eyes met with another pair of eyes. They felt strangely familiar. I squinted my eyes and tried to remember where I had seen them before.

The pair of eyes widened and quickly looked away. Then it hit me. I remembered where I had seen them. My fists automatically clenched and my expression turned into one of animosity.

Anna and Sophia must have noticed this, because they also stopped laughing and looked at me.

"Could this night get any more aggravating?". I muttered angrily.
