Chapter Ten— New York

Galaxia's POV

There's a war inside my head

Sometimes I wish that I was dead, I'm broken

So I call this therapist

And she said "girl, you can't be fixed, just take this"

I'm tired of trying to be normal

I'm always over thinking

I'm driving myself crazy

So what if I'm fucking crazy?

And I don't need your quick fix

I don't want your prescriptions

Just 'Cause you say I'm crazy

What if I'm fucking crazy?

I'm gonna show you

Loco, maniac, sick bitch, psychopath

Yeah I'm gonna show you,

I'm gonna show you,

Yeah I'm gonna show you

Mental out my brain, bad shit go insane

Yeah I'm gonna show you

I'm gonna show you

Yeah I'm gonna show you...

I listened to 'I'm gonna show you crazy' by Bebe Rexha and drew in my sketch pad. I was presently in my car on the way to my private jet hangar. Today was Tuesday and I was going to New York for a while. About my weekend, it went this way,

Flashback

Friday night

I couldn't sleep no matter what, or else I would have that nightmare again and scream. I also couldn't go out of my room. My mom was a light sleeper, the slightest door creak and she would awake.

I stood up, opened the balcony door of my room and stepped into the balcony. The night breeze was cool, not a soul was in sight, just the way I liked it. I looked at the sky and saw thousands of stars.

My mind went back to when I was younger. I loved to listen to music and look at the stars ever since I saw a meteor shower one night. My parents bought me a huge telescope and had it set up.

Every Friday, we would alternate between watching a movie and going stargazing, but the best part was that we spent those days together as a family.

Looking at the sky now, I realised that I still loved stargazing, I just haven't had time for it for a long while.

I had always found solace in music. It has always allayed my anger and the effects I get from my nightmares.

After a few hours, it was already dawn. I left the balcony and went to lie on my bed. My door creaked open gently and my mom walked in.

"Honey, what are you doing awake?"

"What about you? How come you're not still asleep?" I asked, trying to divert the question from me.

"I remembered that you guys didn't have clothes to wear, so I brought some for you. I already went to drop your brothers' but they're still sleeping, they must be very tired from all that company work they've been doing".

"Yeah, I guess so".

"That's why I'm wondering why you're already awake. You've also been very busy with your own company and should be as tired as they are. Therefore you should still be in deep slumber by now".

She said while walking towards my bed. She set down the clothes, held my hands and asked

"Is everything alright, honey? If there's something wrong, you can tell us, you know. We're all here for you".

I smiled at her and said

"Everything is fine, mom. I woke up just a few minutes before you entered. I was looking around my room and reminiscing about when I was younger. I assure you, everything's fine".

She sighed and hugged me

"Ok honey, whatever you say". She pulled away, looked around the room and finally at me and said

"You know, I always clean yours and your brothers' room every weekend. While cleaning the rooms, I'd remember all those fun times we spent together. The times where you, Anna and Sophia would play hide and seek and taunt the boys. It's still funny just thinking about it".

My mom and I laughed at the memory. Sophia, Anna and I were like little devils up to mischievous activities most times and my brothers suffered most of them.

"I'm so happy to finally have you guys here again. I know it's for a short while but I'm content. Thank you so much, honey". My mom said

"It's okay, mom. The least my brothers and I could do is to give you and dad our rapt attention. You deserve every good thing in this world". I said and smiled at her.

"Thanks, honey. Now let me leave you to your morning routine". She said while standing up.

"Ok mom". She left the room and I performed my morning routine which includes my workout session, brushing my teeth, showering, dressing up and tying my hair into a bun.

I dressed up in the outfit my mom brought, a loose grey like sweater top with designed hole spaces in it and off-the-shoulder style with blue jeans and brown sandals. I loved it because it was casual yet fashionable and comfortable. I stepped out of my room and started the day which consisted of breakfast, we talked for a long time, then went to the field for some sports.

We had lunch, did more activities, then had dinner and we settled to watch a movie.

On Sunday, mom suggested we had a ladies' day out and my dad and brothers had their guys' day out. She said I looked tired and needed stress relief treatment, so we went swimming.

After swimming, we went to the spa, precisely the VIP section. My mom got a deep tissue massage and she gave me a massage herself as well.

Her hands were so soft, you'd think she was a professional masseuse. She knows I don't like being touched by people other than my family and friends.

We went online shopping because we couldn't go to the mall due to my enchlophobia.

On a typical day if I wanted to go shopping, whatever mall I was going to, would be notified in advance and for the entire time of my shopping, the mall would be shut and no one would be allowed in.

The mall attendants were also not allowed to come close to me. I would choose whatever I wanted, try it on and someone would pack it up, ring it up and carry it to my car.

I'd pay and leave the mall immediately. That's my typical shopping day. I couldn't do that here because no mall was notified of my visit, so we settled for online shopping and of course most of the stuff were my mom's.

At night, we all met at home, ate dinner and went stargazing. We talked a lot because we were leaving the next day and I knew my parents wanted to spend as much time as possible with us.

The next day which was Monday, when we were about to leave, my parents' expressions grew sad. My brothers and I tried to comfort and remind them that we were going to see each other during that get-together.

Finally, they agreed and we left. I went home and called Crawford. She answered on the third ring

"G-good evening, m-miss Galaxia".

"Prepare the jet and inform the pilot that I'll be going to New York and everything should be ready before 10a.m tomorrow".

"N-n-new york?".

"Why? Do you have a problem with that, Crawford?".

"N-no m-ma'am".

"Then I expect you to start packing your bags or better yet, I'll look for your replacement".

"N-no m-ma'am, I'll start p-packing right away".

"Be at the hangar before 10a.m tomorrow and make sure everything is ready, else..." I said and cut the call.

I went to my room and used my sleep inducing pills because a headache was starting to form and I knew it was due to my lack of sleep.

I showered, grabbed my favourite snacks and walked to my den to watch a movie. I drifted off to sleep while watching the movie.

I woke up this morning, grabbed my suit cases and packed everything I'd need. I performed my morning routine and got dressed, wearing a short, knee length black skirt with orange-brown long sleeved turtle neck top.

I made breakfast, ate and got a text from Greg, informing me of his arrival. I wore my shades, brought out my suit cases and he put them in the car while he greeted and bowed slightly.

I locked my doors and turned on the security lock for the whole mansion. I had told my housekeeper I no longer needed her service.

I got in the car and Greg started driving to my private jet hangar. I brought out my silver coloured headphones, started listening to some music and drawing my sketches.

End of flashback.

We arrived at the hangar one hour later and Crawford was already there, waiting. I checked the time and saw it was 9:37a.m. I got out of the car as Greg and the security guards loaded our bags into the jet.

My jet was painted a shiny brown. I loved the colour and it immediately caught my attention due to how brightly it sparkled when the sun set the day I went shopping. I remember it like it was yesterday, the sun was setting, painting the sky in a burst of orange, yellow and red and as twilight rapidly approached, a certain gleam had caught my eye and that was when I saw her, shining from the distance and without much thought, I had bought her immediately. I had the interior decorated to suit my taste splendidly as well.

"G-good morning, m-miss Galaxia" Crawford greets. As usual, I ignored her and got into my jet with her following after.

I sat down, put on my headphones and started drawing again, waiting for the jet to take off.
