Chapter Twelve— Tuesday

Galaxia's POV

The rays from the sunlight seeped through the small parted space in between the curtains as I laid on the bed, facing the ceiling with my headphone sitting gently on my neck and my opened sketchpad placed on my stomach with my pencil in my right hand.

I had been awoken eight hours earlier by the same nightmare that kept hunting me. I couldn't even sleep for more than a few minutes before those horrifying images of my past showed their faces and now the lack of sleep was starting to take a toll on me. I felt the symptoms of a migraine approaching.

Reaching into my suitcase, I pulled out the bottle of Analgesic and Triptan pills that had been prescribed by my physician before my departure from London. She had attempted to prescribe Antipsychotics but after seeing my death glare, she had held back her suggestion.

After using them, I glanced at the clock placed on the night stand to see it was past 10a.m. Getting up from the bed, I chose what outfit to wear before proceeding into the bathroom to take a shower. I tied my hair into the usual bun and put on my outfit.

I put on my shades and headphones then stepped out of my room and head into the elevator with the bellhop behind me with my suitcases. Getting to the lobby, I saw Crawford seated on a settee, using her phone. I walked towards the exit and she looked up and hurriedly made her way to me.

"G- good morning, miss Galaxia," as always, I ignored her and asked,

"Have you taken care of the bills?"

"Y- Yes ma'am."

We entered the car and started heading to HQ. I brought out my phone and started scrolling through the latest updates. The news of my new fashion and clothing line release was still topshelf and apparently the most searched item. It was basically on every fashion related websites and blogs on the internet, giving absolutely no room for other agencies.

"Uhmm... m- miss Galaxia? M- ma'am?" She started.

"Speak. I'm not deaf."

"I- I just wanted to a-apologise for what happened yesterday. I thought something ha--"

"Has my dad sent you the info on the house?" I cut her off.

"Y- Yes ma'am, he has. They c-called to ask when you'll be m-moving in and I've informed them. T-they said everything w-will be ready by noon, m- ma'am."

"Leave my suit cases in the car. As soon as I'm done with work, we'll head over there."

"Ok ma'am."

"Where would you stay? I won't accommodate you in my house, so I need to know if you'll be staying at the hotel or not."

"I-I'm thinking of s-staying over at my r-relatives'. My aunt and her f-family stay close by, so I-I'll be staying t-there with them."

"Alright. I won't tolerate any form of tardiness, no matter the excuses. Do you understand me?"

She gulped and answered, " Y- Yes miss Galaxia." We arrived in HQ and I looked up at my building. It had been a while. I got out of the car and walked towards the entrance.

My headquarters had about fifty floors in total with my office obviously at the top floor. The entire building plan of my headquarters took the shape of a lipgloss stick. One end was elevated towards the sky while the other was a little lower. Windows were lined in rows and columns on the golden building.

The security personnels immediately turned pale and their eyes widened when they took notice of the person standing before them.

"G-g-good morning, miss Galaxia," they mumbled in unison while bowing slightly.

With my signature emotionless face, I made my way into the company. They all stared at me with the same expression as the security guards’. As I walked past them, they each stuttered a "good morning miss Galaxia" while bowing slightly.

I walked into the elevator with Crawford and I ascended to the office of my Human Resources manager. I got out of the elevator and saw the space, where the secretary was supposed to be, vacant. A frown made its way unto my face as I kept walking,

I made my way into his office and opened the door, without knocking. The sight before me was enough to cause every nerve cell in my body to start boiling. Crawford let out a slight gasp behind me.

My personnel manager was making out with his secretary. He was standing between her legs as she sat on his desk. I neither moved a muscle nor made a sound, I just stood there, watching.

He moved away from her lips and started kissing down her neck. His back was facing me while her face was facing my direction. She suddenly released a moan and opened her eyes.

I saw the colour drain from her face and her eyes widened. She immediately pushed him away and jumped down from the desk.

"What is it?" He asked her.

She opened her mouth severally to speak but couldn't form a word. He slowly turned back and his eyes met mine. His whole body froze as he wore the same expression as her.

He kept opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water.

"M-m-miss Galaxia," He whispered fearfully.

I started walking towards them slowly, my anger increasing with each step. I stood in front of them and looked at them very well. His suit jacket and neck tie were already taken off and his shirt's sleeves were rolled up to his elbows.

A few buttons were undone on both their shirts. Her cleavage was on full display and her shoes were lying haphazardly on the floor.

They suddenly became self conscious and were about to start dressing up when I said menacingly,

"Don't you dare."

Their movements came to a halt and I moved even closer.

"Looks like I caught you by surprise," I walked past them to his desk and grabbed the telephone.

"Let everyone assemble in Mr Bentley's office, now," I said while looking at the both of them pointedly, challenging the both of us to try and stop me.

"M-m-miss Galaxia, it's not what it--" He started, but I silenced him with a raise of my finger. In no time, everyone came rushing to the office.

They each took in the scene before them and gasped simultaneously. I walked forward and stood before the culprits.

"How long has this been going on for?" I asked.

“...” None of them was able to respond.

"Answer me!" I yelled out when neither of them made an attempt to answer.

"F-for s-six months now." She answered.

"Six months." I laughed humourlessly.

"No wonder my stocks and sales have been going haywire. Instead of working, you've been busy pleasuring each other in MY company for SIX GOOD MONTHS!" I shouted in anger.

"You couldn't find somewhere else to engage in your promiscuous activities, but you chose to do that in MY COMPANY. MY GODDAMN HARD EARNED COMPANY! The audacity!" I yelled, my anger rising each second.

Shutting my eyes tightly, I took a deep breath to try to calm myself. My suppressed migraine was setting in again. These idiots were causing my migraine to resurface!

"I'm gonna make you both pay for this, I promise."

I turned to my other employees who were busy watching this drama with pale expressions and wide eyes.

"I called you all here to witness this. These two have decided to go against my orders and they shall suffer the consequences. They'll act as deterrents to you all, in case anyone else is engaging in such or planning to. I WILL find out and when I do, it's going to be worse than this."

I turned back to the culprits with my blank expression.

"You both are fired. Bentley, every privilege given to you by this company as a senior personnel is hereby withdrawn. You will turn in your car and move out of the house before the week ends. Failure to comply with these rules will warrant you spending some number of years in jail. Now both of you, get out of my company."

"P-p-please, miss Galaxia. Don't do this to me. P-p-please..."

“...I have younger siblings to take care of. He forced me to do this. H-he said he'd p-pay me double my s-salary. P-please Miss Galaxia, please”. The secretary begged on her knees while sobbing uncontrollably while Bentley just stood there, immobile and dumbfounded.

"You chose to fall for his traps. That shows how stupidly cheap and naive you are. Now both of you, get out!"

"N-no." Bentley said, making everyone gasp.

"What?" I said, my anger back with full force.

"I-I said n-no. Y-you can't just f-fire me. I've been w-working here for a long time. You and I b-basically built this company t-t-together". He said, looking down at his feet.

I burst into laughter, though not an amused one, it was more of a humourless laughter.

"You and I built this company together, you say?". I said pointing from me to him.

"Y-yes. I've been h-here for a long t-t-time, you can't f-fire me just like that". I was quiet for a while as I contemplated what I would do to him. He had the audacity to request for compensation for working with me for a long time after what he had done. I was becoming too lenient with these people but I was here now and I would definitely make sure I set things right.

"I suppose you're right then. But don't worry, I won't just fire you. You deserve a special gift for working for me for a long time". I said with a fake smile and he sighed in relief.

I moved closer to him and said lowly but loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

"How do you think Mrs Bentley will react when she finds out about what happened today?". My smile turned cold and devilish.

He went pale again, his eyes wider than before and he started sweating profusely.

"N-n-no. You wouldn't do that".

"Yes I will. I think that's the special treatment you get for being a long term employee...”.

“...Exactly, you said so yourself, you've been working here for a long time. I should have fired you a long time ago because now, your stupid, idiotic self is claiming to have built this company with me. The company I had worked for all these years. My blood, sweat and tears have been dedicated to this company and YOU stand before ME to tell me that we worked together?!".

Placing two fingers on the bridge of my nose, I sighed tiredly as the migraine was affecting me a lot and if I didn't get them out of here soon, I would collapse.

"You're making me talk too much”. I looked over at the security personnels present and signalled them, saying

“Now, get them out of my office and never let me see their faces ever again”.

"Please, miss Galaxia!".

"You can't do this to me, No! Let me go! No!" They shouted as they were being dragged out.

I turned to the others and they still had those terrified expressions on their faces.

"Get back to work!"

As they all ran back to their various duties, I made my way up to my office at the top floor, fuming in anger.

I was back and I was bent on making my name known here in New York. I would let everyone know that no one messes with Galaxia Chrystal Arthur and got away with it.

Xavier's POV

Ring Ring Ring

I groaned in annoyance and closed the file I was going through. I grabbed my phone and checked the caller ID to see it was my best friend, Ryan calling. I cleared my throat and answered it.

"What is it, Ryan?".

"Wow, good morning to you too, Xavier."

I rolled my eyes and said "Good morning. Now what do you want?"

"Grumpy much?"

"I have things to do Ryan. Hurry up and say whatever it is you have to say. I just hope it's important".

"Geez, calm down, what has gotten your panties in a twist? As your best friend, can't I call to say hi and seek your wellbeing? I'm sorry, I shouldn't have called you then."

He was mad at me now. I sighed and ran my hand down my face.

"Fine, I'm sorry. A lot has just been going on lately and I have work to do and contracts to sign. I've just been stressed out."

"Oh yeah? So that's why you should take it out on me uhhn?"

"I said I'm sorry. Now what is it you wanted to talk about?"

"I just wanted us to...you know... chill and probably have a couple of drinks. You know, just relax. You definitely need it, you've been drowning yourself in work. At this rate, you'd start growing grey hairs at the age of 30".

I sighed and stretched my aching muscles, hearing the satisfying pop sound they made. He was right though, my muscles had been begging me to relax and I think if I didn't do that soon, I might actually get worn out, but I had a lot of things to take care of and work came before self. If I wanted to achieve my sole aim, I couldn't afford to slack off at all.

"Thanks for worrying about me anyway. But I won't be able to make it. I need to finish up with what I have to do and let me tell you, I have a lot on my plate".

"Come on. It's been a while since we hung out and you haven't taken a break from work in years. No kidding, you need this more than I do".

"Thanks for caring, Ryan, but I really have things to do right now". A knock sounded at my door.

"Come in". Tyson entered, holding a mountain of files.

"Sir, the meeting is set and everything's prepared".

"Ok thank you. I'll be right there...".

"...You hear that, Ryan? I need to go now. Thanks anyway". I said and hung up, not waiting to hear him argue because trust me, it would take an eternity to get him to shut up.

"Alright Tyson, let's go". I said, getting up from my seat and fixing my suit. We made our way out of my office and towards the board room.
