After pondering alot he came to a conclusion that if he wanted her in his life he had to do something, he couldn't sit around idly waiting for things to happen magicaly. He had decided he was going to talk to his grandmother. He released a breath, opening the door he went inside.

His grandmother was sitting on the bed knitting, it was her favorite hobby and she did it in her free time. He sat on the bed and took needles out of her hands, he placed his head in her lap and closed his eyes. She ran her hands through his hair and asked in her gentle voice.

"Kya hoa hai?
(What happened?
)

"Mai apse kuch mangne aya hun Dadi jaan" he replied, his heart was beating very slowly as if it was going stop any moment.

(I came here to ask you for something)

"Kya chahiye meray betay ko?
(What does my son want?
)

He sat up and took her frail hands in his, looking at her smiling face.

"Pehle aap wada karein ke mujhay mana nahi karein gi"
( You have to promise me first that you will not say no to me)

"Batao to sahi" she laughed softly at his demand.

(Tell me first)

"Mujhay Daneen chahiye"
(I want Daneen)

He told her with beating heart. And assessed her features to see any sign of anger when he got none he continued.

"Mai un se shadi karna chahta hun"
( I want to marry her)

"Azghaan ye kese mumkin hai? "
( How is this possible Azghaan?
)

He knew what she was going to say next.

"Aur wo tum se-"
(And she is-)

"Mujh se bari hein yahi na, lekin iss baat se kya faraq parta hai"

(She is older than me right, but it doesn't matter)

This one thing irritated him the most, he loved her dearly, he cared for her he wanted to marry her. His intentions were pure but the problem everyone saw was that she was older than him.

"Mai tumhare maa baap se baat karti hun"
(I'll talk to your parents)

She replied and he couldn't help the grin that came on his face. He kissed her hands and hugged her tightly.

"Kya Daneen maan jaye gi?
( Will she accept this?
"

He pulled and looked at her tight lipped. That the was the big question. Will Daneen lay down her defenses for him? He didn't know but he hoped that his love will erase all her fears.

On Saturday afternoon her grandmother called to invite them on dinner. Daneen couldn't understand the reason behind this sudden invitation. As much as she disliked going to her Taya's house, she had no choice.

She looked at the time on her phone and quickly tied her hair in a bun and wrapped her duppata around herself and picked her purse.

The cab stopped in front of a massive house. She stepped down and helped her mother out of the cab. Paying the fare she turned around and saw the lavish house in front of her which belonged to her Taya. An ache formed in her heart but she was quick to overcome it and went inside. Without giving him a glance who was waiting for her in the hallway she passed him and went in the living room. He released a sigh and followed her.

The dinner went smoothly, but she felt his gaze on her all the time. After dinner the elders went in her dadi's room. They wanted to talk about something important with her mother. Daneen was pacing around in the living, her sixth sense was telling that she wasn't going to like whatever they were talking about.

When she saw him coming towards her she fixed him with a stony gaze and went in the kitchen. His face hardened, he followed her with a red face. She was sitting on the chair, eyes lowered to the floor.

"Aap jaye, baki kaam baad mai kar lena"

(Do the rest of work later, go now)

He told the maid who was washing the dishes. She nodded her head, turning the tap off she wiped her hands and left them alone.

"Aap jitna mujh se door jayein gi mai utna hi apkay qareeb aaon ga"
( The more you'll go away from me the more I'll come near you)

She felt his voice behind her, she gripped the edge of table in front of her to stop herself from lashing out. This wasn't her home.

She stood up and tried to move past him, her breath tumbled in her stomach when she felt his hand on her arm, there was something in his touch that made her heart beat erratically. He pulled her close and grabbed her arms tightly.

"Aap samjhti kya hein khud ko? Mujhay selfish keh rahi thein us din aap khud kiya hein?
(What do you think of yourself as?
You were calling me selfish that day what are you now?)

His voice trailed off as his hand found her chin. He lifted her face
gently, and their eyes met.

He found himself moving toward her, his face approaching hers, their lips
inches apart.
So close that she could feel his warm breath on her face. His eyes lowered to her neck and a desire burned in him to kiss it.

"Meri mohabbat kiyu nahi nazar ati apko? "
(Why can't you see my love?
)

He brought his lips to her ear so he could whisper to her.

She felt her heart stopping and blood rushing in her veins. She pushed him away and he knew he had crossed the line of fire when she slapped him.

"Don't you dare touch me again" she sneered.

The ride home was eerily quiet. It was like the calm after the storm. Her mother was lost in her thoughts and she didn't bother asking what did they talk about. When they reached home the anger she was feeling intensified when her told her exactly why her grandmother invited them.

Giving her mother medicine she went in her room but the sleep was miles away. Her head was in an overdrive. She went outside to get some fresh air. Her focus was on how to get out of the mess he had created for her.

On the other hand hecouldn’t sleep. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t fall asleep. He was exhausted, both mentally and physically, yet he couldn’t relax. The strange events of the past few days played on a constant loop in my mind. And on the top of that he was worried about her.

He was worried about her reaction. What would she do when she'd get know that his parents asked for her hand in marriage? He now just had to wait.
