His eyes were intense and unblinking. He was unable to look away. His eyes leisurely smoothed over her from head to toe, resting longer than necessary on her ample bosom, on her curves that were pretty evident in her peach organza saree.

They had gone to attend the wedding, all night his eyes kept wandering to his sinfully gorgeous wife. She was wearing a peach colored organza saree, her hair curled falling on her shoulders. Her lips tinted rogue and her skin was flawless. Hands down she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

The sight of her enjoying was a very pleasing thing he'd ever witnessed. The way her eyes grew wide at something the lady standing next to her muttered, the way her little mouth turned into a beautiful smile, it was really too much.

He felt the sharp edges of her beauty piercing his heart.

They were going back home. The silence in the car was heavy, there was something sizzling in the air, something that put him on the edge. The car was filled with her scent, vanilla he inhaled a dreep breath and closed his eyes.

He looked at her sideways she was staring out the window. The ivory skin of her neck was exposed, he felt a stirring in him which he had never felt before. He cursed himself, he blamed all of it on Agha Jaan. After his talk with him, his mind was brewing lecherous ideas.

He glanced at her again, a few tendrils were kissing her face. He stretched his hand to push them away but it stopped midway. He pulled it back and curled his fingers tightly.

She could feel his eyes caressing her, touching her. She looked at him and then averted her eyes quickly when she saw him looking at her.

The car stopped in the garage, she didn't waste a second and stepped out of the car. She climbed the few steps on the porch and went inside. He was still in the car staring at the place from where she left just a second ago.

He placed his head on the steering wheel and groaned. It was getting harder and harder to control his carnal desires.

It was late in night, as he laid awake in his bed staring at the ceiling blankly, thinking about the past three years he had spent mourning for his loss. He couldn't help but think about what Agah Jaan said.

"Wo aisay jurm ki saza kaat rahi hai jo usnay kiya hi nahi"
( She is being punished for a sin she never committed)

He was not the only one in grief. She was also in great despair. What Agha jaan said was true. She was paying for the sins of her brother.

Zar Wareen Achakzai had to leave her home, her parents, everything behind in wergild. A jirga of tribal elders concluded that a girl of Achakzai will be given to compensate the loss of their son. She was given to Asfandyar through a ridiculous custom and to maintain peace between two tribes. Her parents gave her away in order to save their son.

He sat right up in his bed and dropped his head in his hands. Closing his eyes he exhaled deeply, there was weight on his chest. He didn't realize it until now that he had hurt an innocent soul.

"Agar tum ussay nahi apna saktay to azad kar do ussay"

(If you can't accept her then free her)

The final nail in the coffin was struck by Agha jaan's sharp words.

He stood up and grabbed his T-shirt putting it on he walked out of his room and towards her room with determined steps. Opening the door slowly he went inside. The room was dimly lit, she must have forgotten to turn off the lights.

He walked towards the bed where she was sleeping soundly. Half of her body was covered with duvet, he could see the milky skin of her shoulders, she was wearing a spaghetti strap camisole. Her dark hair spread on the pillow.

She woke up under a strange feeling, she breathed slowly and looked up. Her heart lurched in her mouth when she saw a silhouette standing at the edge of her bed. She sat up quickly and clutched the duvet to her chest. Her eyes widened when she saw his face.

He slowly walked forward and sat down on the bed, staring in her unblinking eyes. He placed a hand on her cheek stroking it. He leaned forward and placed his nose on her cheek dragging it slowly upwards.

"Da zrra armaana me"
( My heart's desire)

He whispered softly and placed his lips on hers. His kiss was tender and sweet- the kind of a kiss a lover gives his beloved after a long absence. He kissed her, as if she belonged to him. He owned her. Hos kiss was warm and passionate, every emotion spread itself on his lips.

His fingers explored her wavy hair and traced gentle lines across her neck, causing every pore, every space to explode into scarlet. He pulled away from her lips - his nose nuzzled her cheeks, her ear, her perfect milk white throat. He felt the pulse at her neck and found himself strangely calm by the gentle rythym.

His hands dropped from her shoulders and inched over her lovely and innocent curves, marvelling at her receptivity as she blossomed under his touch.  He brought his head close to her and peered down at her face, she dragged her eyes up to his, there were sparks in them.

She could feel his muscles as she laid underneath him. She could almost feel his heart beating against her own chest.

His mouth left her wanting more much much more.

If he was being gracious then who was she to refuse him. She placed her hands on his neck baring her soul to him.

The night passed on two lovers who were tangled around each other, as their legs entwined in a large bed under the silk duvet.

She was standing in the washroom, she thought about what had transpired last night. She woke up alone in bed, he was nowhere. Making love with him was a very emotional experience, and even now jer heart felt the aftershocks, but there was something bugging her.

Three years passed before she saw him again, he had almost forgotten her and now... It took him three years to accept her. She gripped the edges of vanity when a wave of insecurity washed over her. She looked at her face in the mirror. Her eyes were shining, her skin was glowing pink. She sighed and wrapped the towel around her wet body and walked in her room.

When she went downstairs, she stopped for a moment and then turned towards kitchen instead going in the dining room. She was not ready to see him yet. She took her breakfast and sat on the breakfast bar.

He came in the kitchen and was surprised to see her sitting there, nibbling slowly on her food. He slowly walked taking in her sight. Her long dark hair in a bun, he wanted to see them open, lying gently over her shoulder bones, kissing her skin.

She had kind of understated beauty, perhaps it was because she was so disarmingly unaware of her prettiness.

She turned around and saw him standing in the doorway, his eyes glazed over. He looked lost somewhere. She tried to step down from the stool but he came forward and stopped her movements.

He placed a hand on her cheek and the other on her back rubbing up and down slowly.

"Zrra me ta orey de"
( You have taken my heart away )

He leaned down and buried his face in her hair inhaling her scent. Vanilla

"Zar"

He whispered and placed a hand on her left cheek. She blinked rapidly.

" I am going out with Agah Jaan. When i return i want to see you in my room."

She looked at him in surprise. His eyes were dark and intense. He was staring at her intensely.

He leaned down and placed a passionate kiss on her lips. She closed her eyes.

" I have neglected my duties far long, it high time i take responsibility "

He placed a chaste kiss on her cheek and went out. Her heart was thumping so loudly that she felt she was having a heart attack. She leaned her head forward, holding it in her upturned hands.

He placed the chocolate cake, which he brought for her in the fridge. From Agha jaan he got to know about her love for chocolates. He wanted to please her so he went and brought a cake secretly while Agah jaan was busy buying some dry nuts.

Agha jaan had teased him all day asking him about the smile which seemed to never leave his face. He had laughed it off saying nothing. But Agha jaan was no fool he knew the reason behind his grandson's happiness.

He walked towards his room with a smile but it was wiped off once he saw his empty room. The one beautiful thing he desired was missing. He clenched his fist and walked towards her room.

The door was shot open suddenly but she didn't turn around. She knew who it was. She closed her eyes and stood up from the vanity chair walking towards her bed.

"What did i tell you Zar? "

"What? "

She breathed out. He looked at her large green eyes held such an intelligence and serenity that it was impossible for him not to be held prisoner by them.

"I told you to shift in my room, what are you doing here? "

"I am in my room Mr Asfandyar Khan"

She replied nonchalantly but her voice was cold.

He was irritated now but he refused to show his anger.

"Last night we.. "

"It was nothing, last night was nothing"

She said cooly. He raised an eyebrow and walked a few steps forward. His expression darkened.

"It was a good deal more than nothing"

His voice was clipped and suddenly cold. She fixed him a stony gaze.

"What did you think that you will grace me with your presence after neglecting me for so long and i will lay down at your feet happily?"

She yelled suddenly, he flinched. He wasn't expecting this argument. But it was on the horizon.

"Zar.."

He breathed and walked towards her grabbing her arms he pulled her to him.

"Aye zama yara"
(Oh my darling)

He placed a kiss on her cheek and wiped her tears.

"Zeh mutasif yum"
(I am sorry)

He placed a kiss on her lips and pulled her to his chest but she pushed him away and hugged her arms tightly across herself, wiping her tears away angry and resigned tears.

" You can leave "

She whispered and looked at him with pain.

"Zar listen please..."

Tears escaped her eyes, running away upon her cheeks, leaving her body.

"Wrak sha"
(Go away)

She whimpered and turned around, he sighed and then left her room.

The next morning she woke up late, it was almost noon. She'd slept far too long. She was emotionally exhausted, her energy was drained. She freshened herself in the washroom and walked out of the bedroom.

She was surprised to see the lounge empty, usually Agah jaan was present in the lounge drinking his afternoon tea. She walked in the kitchen and saw Ghulam bakhsh standing near the stove. The tantalizing aroma of kehwa hit her nose and she inhaled deeply.

She sat at the breakfast tool and Ghulam bakhsh placed a cup in front of her. She smiled at him and mumbled her thanks.

"Agah jaan kahan hein?
( Where is Agah Jaan?
)

She asked him. He placed a cup in the tray along with crushed nuts and honey.

"Apnay kamray mai hein, aram kar rahay hein"
( He is taking rest in his room)

She nodded her head. He took the tray and walked towards the door when she stopped him.

"Wo ahh Asfandyar kahan hein?
(Where is Asfandyar?
)

"Chotay sahab to subha hi chaly gaye thay"
( Young master left in the morning)

It took her a few seconds trying to wrap her mind around what he said.

Her heart snapped in two. So he left her again. She inhaled sharply and a pained expression marred her lovely features.
