To be a bride

Chapter 1

While walking in the aisle inside the church. I saw my relatives and friends smiling at me like I was the luckiest lady in town. Today is my wedding day. I'm a bit nervous yet I feel glad to get married to..

I confusedly looked at my future husband to know who is he but his face is blurred. Who is he? Why am I getting married to him?

I look around to asked for help but all the smiles around me turn into a smirks as if they want to do bad things.

I try to escape yet the door of the church was closed.

"Help" I said knocking at the entrance door. "Please help"

"Stefanie" someone poked me. "Stefanie, wake up!"

I opened my eyes and saw my mom sitting beside me, she's looking at me, worried. I sat at my bed and hug her. "I had a bad dream"

"A bad dream about your wedding again?" I nodded. She sighed. "How many times did I told you to stop desiring it? Wait for your turn if you don't like to date someone yet"

"But, I'm already 29 yet I never had a boyfriend" I said while pouting my lips.

It was my dream to get married, to be a bride of someone, but ever since my dad abandoned us. I never saw a man who I can fully trust.

"My poor Stefanie" she pat my head. "Why don't you asked your friends help to set up a blind date for you?"

"Mom, blind date is just a shit idea. How can you love someone you just met" mom held me to stand. I washed my face, then walked with mom til' dinning area.

"Steff. Aren't you like to try?" she asked again.

"Mom, picking a right guy in a blind date was only 20% possible" I replied. "Beside, a lot of people doing blind dates are not really someone who's interested to love, they just only want to had fun"

"Darling, you know what? That's the reason you can't find a boyfriend. You never try getting along with some guys" we both sat at the dinning area to start eating breakfast.

Getting along with some damn dude? No way. They are all jerks looking for their targets to beat up.

"Just try" she kissed my head before leaving the area.

I sighed heavily. "I'll think about it, mom"

"Hey Steffy, good morning" Alex said after seeing me entered our office department. She's my co-admin in our department. The Security department.

"Good morning Alex, does our new department manager arrived?" I asked. She nodded her head. Shit, I'm a bit late.

"He suited to be our department manager" she said. I sat down beside her and start working. "He's strict but really handsome"

"Really? That's great" I said while organizing files.

I was busy checking files from monitoring section when the service phone rang.

"Hello, this is Stefanie Lou from Security department--" the caller cut my intro.

"I don't care. I need some security men at the parking space now!" he said with a very manly voice.

I confusedly look at Alex who's also busy. I can't recognize the voice but no one knew our service phone number except from different department managers and our own personnel.

"C-copied sir" I replied. I looked for some personnel to go down to the parking space but no one is available.

I decided to go down alone at the parking space. I look for someone that can be the one who called the service phone but I can't recognize anybody. They all looks like a normal employees.

"Fuck! The Security department are damn slow" a guy with the brown long hair said.

"You're the one who called the Security department service phone, don't you?" I approached him. He looks at me puzzled.

"What the fuck! I asked for some men and yet you're the one they sent?" he said irritated. "Whatever. There's an incident here"

I looked at the car behind him and saw a lot of rocks crushed the car windows. It was our CEO's car.

I looked at him.

"What should I do?" I asked.

"Are you an idiot? Of course, you need to do an investigation here" he said then walked away.

"W-wait, where are you going?" I try calling him yet it never reached him.

I started to collect the rocks that scattered and while collecting rocks, I saw a crumpled paper near the wheels at the back of the car. I took it and read what's inside.

It was a threat that I guess is from one of the former employee of the company.

"Do you get anything from the parking space?" he said after I entered our office department. "You looks shocked. Aren't you know me? I'm the new Security department manager" he added after seeing my expression.

"I-I'm sorry sir, I didn't know" I answered while bowing my head.

"Don't bow your head" he said. I stared at him. His one eyebrows arcs high while crossing his arms. "Did you get something?"

"Y-yeah" I gave him the paper I got at the parking space.

"Back to work" he ordered before entering his office.

"See?" Alex said after I come back to my chair.

"See what?" I asked.

"He's really handsome and a bit strict" she said smiling.

"He's not. He just kind of a spoiled brat to me" I answered.

"Well, you can say that since he's still young. Sir Jarred still 23 years old" I look at her then sighed.

"Why are you calling him sir Jarred, by the way? I believe, Jarred is his first name" I asked.

"He said awhile ago that he wants us to called him like that" she answered.

"I see" then sip my coffee.

After some times, our department manager called me.

"Take a seat miss" he said. "I guess, you're not a part of investigation section since you don't know what to do, right?"

"Yes sir. I'm one of the admin staff in our department" I answered.

"So you knew, Miss Stefanie Lou. She's the one who answered my call awhile ago. I instructed her to send men yet she send a woman alone" he said, irritatedly. "And what worst? She send an admin staff! Of all people, seriously?"

"I-I'm sorry sir. I'm Stefanie Lou. I tried to get some men yet no one's available" I explained, shyly.

"So, it was you" he sighed. "You may go"

"I can help sir. I may be just an admin but I can still help"
