Chapter 5 The Fight

The next day.

Joey entered Cynthia's ward in her five-inch high heels.

"It's rare for you to call me. Want to confess?"

"Joey," Cynthia smiled and pointed at the sofa opposite the bed, "sit down. I want to talk to you."

"Spare me your false courtesies. It's disgusting!" Joey snorted in her heart.

"How does it feel to have a fake pregnancy?" Refusing to sit down, she turned to look at Cynthia's flat belly.

Nothing could be hidden forever. Yuri hated people who lied to him.

"Not bad, just feeling tired occasionally."

There were only two people in the ward, but Cynthia was still able to maintain her hypocrisy with a calm tone. She could win an Oscar prize for her acting. Even Joey wanted to applaud her.

"You really think you are pregnant?" Joey sneered.

Cynthia didn't deny but said, "we're both our father's daughter, but I have been called an illegitimate daughter and received so many black looks since I was young. My mom and I had to live in another city. It wasn't until I returned to our family that I led a normal life. Joey, if you were me, wouldn't you have hatred in your heart?"

"That's why you want to steal what belongs to me?" Joey gritted her teeth and retorted, "my father has compensated you all these years and I've given up the inheritance, these are not enough?"

How greedy she was!

Cynthia's eyes instantly darkened, and her mask of hypocrisy started to crack. She said in a deep voice, "I need more than those!"

This was her true colors. She would stop at nothing to achieve her goal!

"But you can't take other people's life no matter how discontented you are! I saw you kill my mom. You pushed her downstairs!" Joey's eyes were red as she roared.

Her mother's death was the pain of her life. Idy Chan treated her mother like a thorn in the throat. They would not let her go even her mother was sick in bed.

Joey saw what had happened. However, nobody believed her. Her father even blamed her for wronging her sister.

Everything in her life had changed since Idy and Cynthia moved into her house.

Cynthia smiled casually. Suddenly, she leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear, "that's right! I pushed her, but so what? No one would believe what you said anyway. I told others that I blamed myself for her death, as I failed to reach out to hold her back."

"Others still thought I was honest, but you were rude and churlish!"

" Cynthia ..." Joey wished she could move forward to slap her. However, her eyes were filled with tears and she could not utter a single word for a long time at the mention of her mother.

She clenched her fists tightly. no one would believe her due to lack of evidence ...

"Joey, she was dead and our father already gave her an elaborate funeral. I think she is resting in peace in heaven. You should now think about yourself. Yuri will divorce you soon!" Cynthia laughed. Her arrogant words were like invisible needles piercing into Joey's heart.

"Shut up!" Joey could not bear it anymore, hitting Cynthia in the face with her bag.

Cynthia failed to dodge. It almost knocked her out. Her face soon swelled.

Cynthia stared at Joey without saying anything.

Joey was about to hit her again when Idy's voice came from outside the ward, "Yuri, why didn't you come in?"
