While I was standing at the counter waiting to order my cup of coffee, I noticed a sign offering a discount on a particular item. I asked the cashier about it, and he explained that the offer was only available for a limited time. I took advantage of the offer and purchased the item. He stood right next to me and was waiting for his turn to order another cup of coffee and a baked item. Our eyes met, sparking a moment of curiosity and intrigue. With a shy smile, I broke the silence. "It's quite a busy morning, isn't it?"

The boy nodded in agreement. His gaze shifted from the menu to my face. "Yeah, it seems like everyone needs their caffeine fix today."

I chuckled softly, my fingers nervously playing with the strap of my bag. "I guess we're all in need of that extra boost to get through the day."

The boy's eyes lit up, appreciating her sense of humor. "Absolutely. Coffee is like a magical elixir, don't you think?" We continued exchanging small talk, enjoying the brief connection they had found while waiting for their much-needed fuel.

After a while, we laughed and joked about our shared love of coffee and comic books. When we finished our drinks, we parted ways with a smile and a nod. I couldn't help but feel a deep connection. I knew I had just made a new friend, or maybe something more than a friend. I couldn't wait to see him grow and feel like I had found a real connection with someone. I knew I had to continue talking to him and getting to know him better. I was ready to take the next step and see what had happened. I had a feeling that something special was happening between us. I was determined to find out. I was determined to find out where this connection would lead. I was determined to explore and develop it further. I was ready to take the next step and see where it took us.

About a few minutes later, as I walked away, I bumped into Oliver and spilled some coffee on myself. As I cleaned up the coffee spell, he said,

"Oh sh*t, I'm sorry about that, and here, let me help," he said, taking some napkins out of my hand and whipping some of the now-cold coffee on my shirt.

"It's okay; it happens, and where are you? I was waiting here for you for almost an hour, and if I have another coffee, I might just use my super-speed; I might just run in circles," I said, looking at him with a grin on my face.

"HA!, Only you can run in circles like a dog chasing its tail, and you will still look like a lost dog," he said, laughing.

"Oh yeah, well, when you look like you have to use the bathroom after a few cups of coffee, you look like you need a litter box, and you run like a kitten with some crackhead speed, trying to make it on time." I said that and grabbed a cookie from the plate.

"Hey, that was one time, and someone put some laxatives in my coffee and thought it would be funny payback for freezing their training bra as a child," he said, and then took another sip of his coffee while watching people walk into The Buzz.

"Oh, the feeling of putting that bra on the next day did give me an ice burn, to the point where I had to go ask my dad for help, and it was so embarrassing. Also, that was not cool at all, especially when you were just standing there laughing your ass off," I told him and stole another cookie off his plate.

"Dude, that was the last cookie, and don't make me bite you!" He scolded me and tried to take the cookies back, trying to bite my hand while everyone in The Buzz was looking at us.

I swiftly moved his hand away and glared at him.

He smiled back and said, "I'm just kidding." Let's just forget this ever happened." We continued eating our cookies and laughing.

I shrugged it off and smiled back, saying, "No problem, it was just a friendly joke." We finished our cookies and coffee and then went to look at some of the books on the other side of the coffee shop.

We browsed for a while, then decided to leave. As we walked out the door, the other guy said, "See you around!" and waved goodbye. We both smiled at each other and parted ways.

"Who was that?" he asked.

"Just a friend," I replied and smiled. He nodded, then continued, looking at a pile of books on a table.

He picked up a book, flipped through it, and set it back down. He walked over to a window and looked out, lost in thought. Finally, he turned around and looked at me, a knowing smile on his lips.

"Do you remember when we were kids? We used to wonder what our lives would be like. I remember we used to sit in the tree house and talk about how we would team up and create superhero vs. supervillain comic books if we never got picked for the superhero training program." He whispered so no one around us heard, and he tucked a piece of hair behind my left ear.

"Oh, I remember especially you were running around the yard trying to see what powers you had but ended up running into the fence a few times because you got dizzy and couldn't run in a straight line," I said and giggled at the picture of him as a child running to the fence.

"Hey, I thought I had some serious speed, and you thought you had good aim, especially when you thought you could shoot a bow but ended up breaking the sliding glass door and scaring the hell out of your mom," he said, picking up another book from the table.

"How was I supposed to know she was going to walk right through the door with a plate of cookies?" I told him while watching him read the back of the book in his hands.

"At least she didn't ground you like my mom did when I first found out I can't miss a single target, but only when someone grabbed me out of nowhere and I missed the shot in which the arrow went straight through the new car window," he said, and he closed the book and checked his phone.

"What time is it?" I asked him while he was looking at his phone.

"It's about six o'clock, and we should probably head home or we both should be grounded." I quickly grabbed my bag, and we both walked out of the cafe.

As we walked home, we decided to take a shortcut. We thought we should take a shortcut through the park. The park was dark, and the stars were twinkling in the sky. We held our breath as we walked, anticipation in the air. We came to a clearing in the center of the park. We stopped, our eyes wide and our mouths agape, as we beheld a sight we had never seen before. The stars were aligned in perfect symmetry, forming a stunning night sky. We stood in awe, our hearts racing and our minds filled with wonderment. We felt like we had discovered a secret of the universe. We embraced each other, our hearts full of joy and gratitude. We knew we had seen something that we would never forget. Oliver turned to look at me and brushed a piece of hair off my face. He smiled warmly and said, "It's beautiful, isn't it?" I nodded, my heart still racing.

He leaned in and kissed me, and in that moment, I felt a deep connection and understanding between us. I knew that we had found something truly special. We pulled away slowly, both smiling and looking into each other's eyes. I knew that this was the beginning of something beautiful. As we started to walk, we held hands. We felt like we had known each other for a lifetime. I knew that this would be the start of something amazing.
