4: ⚡

The next morning, I woke up with a terrible migraine, to the point where I had to rush to the bathroom to vomit my guts out into the toilet instead of staying in bed, feeling like I could not move an inch. As I lay in my warm, comfortable bed, Dash pawed at me as my phone buzzed. He looked at me like it rudely woke him up, like he needed beauty, sleep, or something. I tapped the screen and saw Ollie's text message, then quickly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. As I ran, Dash followed me into the bathroom. He thought I needed to vomit, but I did not have the chance. I quickly got dressed and gave Dash his morning Kindle with a couple of extra treats. I knew I was his favorite human, just like he was his favorite dog. I grabbed my keys, kissed Dash goodbye, and rushed out the door like my life depended on it. As I ran out the door, I forgot to grab my keys and locked myself out of the house, which wasn't the first time, but who cares? I can climb the tree in front of my bedroom window like Ollie does. This is when he does not want to use the front door like anyone else in the world.

As I ran to the Comic Circle, I felt my phone buzz in my back pocket. As I checked who texted me, it was Ollie asking where I was and if I was running late. I think he forgot that I had my father's superpower like he had his own. He tends to forget lots of things, like one time when he showed up to a superhero training class in his underwear. His father picked on him in front of the whole class, making him feel embarrassed and ashamed. He had never felt so humiliated in his life. All the other students were snickering and laughing at him. He was determined never to let that happen again. He took a vow to stand up for himself and never show any fear or weakness in front of his father or anyone else. He vowed to become stronger and never let anyone make him feel that way again. As I remember that embarrassing memory, I walked into the comics store, giggling, and saw Ollie in his favorite green hoodie. He was reading some random comic book. I slowly sneaked up on him and jumped while grabbing him and yelling "boo," which made him scream like a little girl in a haunted house, and I could not help but laugh so loudly that everyone in the store looked at us weirdly.

"Holy sh*t, if you are not my best friend and sister from another mother, you could have been shot in the ass or something with an arrow. Even worse, you are in the middle of your head and right in the middle of your eyes. You do know I have the perfect aim, and I could have aimed at your heart too, but, luckily, I did not get in reach of my gear." He said this while holding his chest like it was going to explore out of it, and he was going to pee himself off from being scared while trying to catch his breath.

"Sorry, but it was too easy to pass up, and the look on your face was priceless. I got a photo of it, and do you want to see it?" I said this while smiling, like I had won the scare your pants off challenge.

"Do me a favor; do not do that again. I don't want anything to happen to you, especially if there is only one of you in this world, and I would like to have you stay in this world," he said and blushed.

"Okay, fine, I promise, but you did start this whole challenge, and you know I can't stop until I win," I told him as I grabbed some comics from the store shelf.

"Yeah, you're right, but it's not my fault you are a scared cat a lot of the time, especially when caught off guard," I told him and looked right at him.

True, but you were scared at five. Remember when you first found out about your powers and ran into the house? "I suggested you needed glasses because you were blind as a bat." He said this and laughed while flipping through his comic book.

"Well, it's not my fault, and I don't hate my powers; they just came with my DNA," I said, bumping into him on my shoulder.

"Sometimes I wish I had your power instead of having a perfect aim every single time, and sometimes I wish we could switch just to see how it feels to run so fast that not even a cop car speed tracker can tell me how fast I can run," he said as he slammed down a comic book and picked up another one.

"Yeah, and I wish I could have the most accurate aim because if you see me in gym class when we play basketball, I stick so badly that I look like I throw like a girl," I said as I picked up a few more.

"Um, Sky, you are a girl, and you don't stink; you just happen to be special," he said, looking away before anyone could notice he was blushing.

"Hold on, let me check down my shirt to see if it's true; keep a lookout so I can check," I said as I looked down my shirt, and he saw me flashing him a little bit.

"Do not do that here, especially in public; someone can see it, and, oh, I can see your boobs now." It is not like I meant to look or anything, but you are showing way too much skin there," Ollie said while trying to look away from my chest.

"Yeah, you're right, but you enjoy it because you blush, and I know you can't help it, plus my boobs are probably better in real life than anything in any Sports Illustrated magazine," I joke and giggle.

"I did not see anything; in fact, there are some insightful articles in those magazines and not half-naked girls. Also, it is not my fault that I am taller than you," he said while trying not to turn red.

"Yeah, you are right, and hey, let's get some pizza; I will race you. Let's start." Let's go!" I said that and ran out of the store.

"Hey, you can't do that!" He yelled after me as I ran a few blocks to the pizza place. I got to the pizza place before him and ordered two large pizzas. When he arrived, we both laughed and celebrated our victory.

After ten minutes, Ollie finally showed up, breathing heavily like he was about to fall over while having an asthma attack. While I waited, I ordered our favorite pizza with extra pineapple and olives. Some people think we are weird for eating that sort of mix of different fruits on a pizza with extra cheese. However, Ollie and I never cared what others thought because we loved it, especially when it was just something we loved to share. Once he caught his breath, he devoured the pizza slices one by one. His mouth was full, with some cheese falling out of it, and he said something.

"Have you seen the newspaper?" "Someone got a picture of the supervillain wannabe, but it is blurry," he said as he chewed like cow hay. Some people think it is disgusting, but it is cute when he chews like that.

"Yeah, and I was there when the whole bank robbery happened. Well, sort of." I bumped into him while he was trying to make a grand escape," I said while grabbing another pizza slice from the box.

"No way. "You must tell me everything and do not leave anything out," he said, grabbing his drink to wash down some bites of his pizza.

"Okay, fine, but you must give the last piece, and you cannot tell anyone," I told him while eyeing the last piece of pizza.

Fine, and why did I do it again? eating all the pizza. I am sorry; I promise I will buy more," he said, looking sad.

"It is okay, and we can always move more; besides, the guy behind the counter looks like he will vomit if he has to make another one of our specials. "Poor guy, we should order something else, like extra onions, and see if he vomits," I said and laughed.

"Let's do it, and in my defense, it isn't like we are adding rotten food to the pizza," he said, grinning from ear to ear.

I looked around the pizza place and did not see anyone paying attention to us. I explained everything to him, and I did not leave anything out. After I told him, when my heart skipped a beat and I blushed when the unknown villain met my eyes, I swear I explained to him I just had this moment where I wanted to kiss him, and I knew I was falling for him. When I told Ollie everything, he looked like he was about to vomit and said he had to leave. However, he forgot to pay because he ran to his car and drove home. We did not speak for a few days after the pizza day, and I knew something bothered him. I had hurt him before, but nothing like this.
