Chapter 6 Servant

Chase was not going to let Ellen be rude to him again. Chase can have fun by scaring Ellen. Chase was reminded of their one-night love by the woman's helpless expression.

"Are you going to keep quiet? Ellen, your job here is to serve me."

"I'm not your servant!"

Apparently, Ellen still had the nerve to raise her voice at Chase even though her face was pale when she replied to Chase's words.

"Is that true? You're not a servant?" Chase pretended to give up. The man, on the other hand, immediately pressed the red button, which was used to contact the club if there was a problem with a special guest.

"What are you doing?" Ellen asked frantically.

"Is there anything else I can do? I'll inform the club that one of the waitresses is refusing to follow my orders. And I'll make certain that you're fired right away."

Ellen walked toward to Chase, unable to control her fear. The woman knelt in front of Chase instinctively. "Do not do it. I don't want to be fired. Please don't let me lose my job here."

Chase showed Ellen his arrogance by crossing his arms across his chest. Chase must be fought at all costs. He didn't want to get involved in Ellen's problems, but her demeanor irritated Ellen, and he wouldn't be relieved if he didn't respond. If Chase had wanted Ellen to obey him, he could have shown her more anger.

"What are you doing kneeling in that position? You don't want to get out of here? I'll give it to you. You are free to leave."

"Not! I'm not going! I'm willing to follow your orders. Please don't let me lose this job."

"I've never heard you plead before, Ellen."

Ellen had no choice but to beg and humble herself in front of Chase. This was a last-ditch effort to keep Ellen from losing her job. Ellen lost her job at the hotel indirectly because of that man. If Ellen lost her job again because of Chase, that woman's hatred for Chase would grow even stronger.

"Please don't let me lose this job," Ellen, who was already desperate, begged and almost cried.

Ellen panicked even more when there was a knock on the door and Chasr motioned for someone outside to enter.

"Is there anything I can do for you, Master Chase?" The club manager appeared, a forced smile on his face.

"Oh, I have something to say."

Chase observed Ellen's reaction, who was still on her knees and appeared to be in pain. Chase extended his sentence in order to make Ellen even more terrified.

"Oh, is this waitress causing trouble? Do I have to clean it? "asked the manager

"No. I'd like you to bring me some orders."

Ellen looked perplexed at Chaste. Ellen was relieved in part, but she had predicted that bad luck would befall her. Ellen had surrendered herself to Chase, and she couldn't back down now. Chase was left to decide what to do with Ellen after that.

Ellen snapped out of her reverie as soon as the door closed again. Chase suddenly grabbed her chin, forcing her to stand up. Even though they were very different heights, Chase was in charge with his smug look at Ellen.

"Serve me," Chase stated emphatically.

Ellen nodded firmly. "Where should I start? What do you want to do first? Should I just pour you a drink now?" Ellen inquired solemnly.

Chase didn't understand himself. Chase wanted Ellen to submit to him, but there was another desire that he couldn't control.

"Hey?" But Ellen jolted Chase out of his reverie. "What should I do first? Why are you remaining silent?"

Chase chose to sit with his arms outstretched on the chair's back. "Please serve everything I ask.  I'm not in the mood to do anything with my hands; it's all your responsibility. Make certain that the way you serve me does not cause me to lose my appetite. You'll lose your job if I lose my appetite."

Of course, the threat was extremely potent in controlling Ellen. At Chase's command, the woman nodded without rebuttal. Ellen's hands deftly poured Chase a drink and handed it to him.

"I already stated that I don't want to use my hands tonight; are you going to stand that far away to allow me to enjoy the drink you pour?"

Ellen drew them in closer so they could stand right next to the man's long chair.

"I'm still not able to enjoy my drink, Ellen."

"So, what should I do?"

"Please sit in my lap.
"

That command left Ellen wide-eyed; how could she sit on Chase's lap when the man was someone Ellen despised at the time? Sitting on Chase's lap was bound to make Ellen uncomfortable.

"Why? Do you not want to do it? " Chase inquired.

Ellen knew she'd be threatened again if she didn't do what Chase asked, so she was forced to sit on the man's lap. Uncomfortable, Ellen tried to calm herself and avoid moving so she wouldn't feel anything.

"Give me that drink," Chase said once more.

"What?"

"Put the glass you brought close to you, and fill it with the drink you've managed to pour well," Chase snorted loudly at Ellen's ladylike demeanor. Make certain that no liquid gets on my clothes. If that happens, you will be responsible for everything."

Ellen waited patiently and followed Chase's game. There was not a single drop of liquid on the man's clothes. Ellen made sure Chase was enjoying his drink, though his gaze occasionally shifted to Ellen.

"You should have a good time, Ellen."

Ellen shook her head in displeasure. "I don't drink alcohol."

"Why? Because you're afraid you'll end up like a hotel?" Chase laughed at his own words. "Don't worry, I'm no longer interested in fucking you.  I just want you to have a good time. Try! "

Chase would move his hand to force Ellen to drink the alcohol in the glass, but the woman would stop him. "What are you doing? You stated that you would not be using your hands at all tonight. Master Chase, I will serve you."

Finally, Ellen was able to use Chase's tactics to counterattack; he couldn't go back on his own words, so Ellen could avoid Chase's compulsion to try alcohol; at the very least, Ellen could be free for that one Chade command. Hopefully, Ellen will be able to leave the room before the guy gets drunk.

****

Thomas De Vera believes his grandson can do a good job. What Thomas is unsure of is Chase's ability to choose a life partner. Chase relies too much on feelings, even though Thomas wants his grandson to be smarter by choosing a woman who can be useful to their family. Love will only bring a person down and cannot go far. Love that is too deep also has the potential to hurt whoever the owner is.

Chase's good name will be judged by seeing his imperfect and reckless love story because Thomas doesn't want his grandson to fall again and again when Chase is just looking for a mate to love. Chase must marry a professional woman who won't get in the way of his work, because De Vera's Corporation will no longer be the only company running Chase's business.

"What do you do with the fun, Aidan? You were so careless in allowing Chase to cross the line."

Aidan becomes the target of Thomas' rage, and he picks up his grandson at the nightclub himself; if there are reporters covering, the headline in the mass media will be Chase's face, and the title will tarnish Hunter's good name.

"Please forgive me, sir."

"There's no point in apologizing. You and Chase almost got the De Vera's in hot water! "

Aidan can't look after Chase because he's too preoccupied with Liam, who attacked him last night. Aidan didn't know what he was feeling, but Liam made him forget and Chase had gone somewhere until the next morning, when Aidan received a call from Thomas' secretary about Chase's presence in the nightclub dressed exactly like last night. Chase didn't come home drunk there.

"Embarrassing! I'll fire you if your performance consistently gets my grandson in trouble!"

Thomas will not accept anything less than perfect in their eyes, and thus in the eyes of the rest of the world.Everything else had to be good news about the De Veras. Thomass can be very cruel to workers who do not comply with their wishes.

"Ugh, I want to puke—"

Chase regurgitated his guts on the floor, making everyone look down on him. Thomas was furious at this point. Chase is asleep when his grandfather gives him a kick, which makes him fall and sit in his own vomit.

Thomas yelled angrily, "Wake up, you son of a bitch!"

"Grandpa? "What exactly are you doing here?"

Aidan wanted to assist his boss, who wasn't fully awake yet, but Thomas refused.

"Get up and get back to work as soon as possible!" If you continue to embarrass me, I will immediately close your company!"

Chase forced himself to come to, and he found himself on the floor, helpless.

"Aww... my clothes."

"Sir, I will find you some clothes.  First, go to the restroom here so you don't come out with your own vomit." Aidan handed as quickly as possible so that Thomas did not become enraged.

"Mr. Thomas, you can return to work because I'll handle this mess."

Thomas gave Aidan a sharp look before finally leaving, unconcerned about what Chase would do. Chase had enraged his grandfather today, so he had to accept the consequences in the form of Thomas orders, which could not be refused after this.

***

Chase never wanted to come home when he was asked, which made him unhappy. However, he was forced to relent tonight because his drunken habits had gotten too bad the night before. Chase's arrival is intended to appease his grandfather, who was furious this morning. Although Chase couldn't say it right away because there was a dinner in the house that went on in silence. Chase had no idea what his family would do once the desserts were gone and they were still sitting in their seats.

"May I speak here?" Chase inquired, breaking the silence for a brief moment.

Thomas replied to Chase by placing his hands on the table. "What would you like to say?"

"I apologize for causing you problems this morning."

Hannah cast a glance at the seated Thomas before glaring at Chase. Everyone in the family was waiting for Thomas' response.

"Your apologies will not be accepted right away, Chase.
You know, apologies that are only spoken are meaningless to me."

"So, Grandpa, what do you want?"

"Your mother found a female candidate who was suitable for the De Vera family.  As an apology, you should be willing to have dinner with the woman of your mother's choice."

Chase was about to curse in front of his grandfather when the insane idea came to an end. Chase, as a free man, didn't want that to happen to him.

"I disagree with it. My apologies aren't worth a meal with the woman my mother chose."

"It's worth it to me. You caused a problem that necessitated my covering it up so that there would be no cheap gossip about the De Veras. And all you have to do is try to meet the woman of your mother's choice at the planned dinner."

Chase turned to face Hannah. "Mom? Are you really working with Grandpa? You're on Grandpa's side?"

Hannah was afraid to respond because Thomas had taken over the conversation first. "There's no conspiring here, Chase. We want you to be married and happy."

"I'll never be content with a woman I don't adore!"

"Did you miss your parents' wedding?  They married with no problems. You can also do it without much opposition."

When his grandfather said that, Chase snorted. "Are you referring to my parents?  Do you believe they are content? Not! I know how torturous their marriage was, even the one that drove my father to commit suicide!"

"CHASE DOMINIQUE!" Elena yelled at her son, who was discussing the woman's husband's death.

"How come, Mom?  Did you not notice? Father committed suicide because he was unhappy with his life as a De Vera. If only my father was still alive, I would not be suppressed. I don't mind if I leave this house without bearing the name De Vera. But I—"

"You're concerned about your family, Chase." Thomas interrupted his grandson's speech."Stop dwelling on the past; it only serves to harm you and your mother.  How about your mother, if you're talking about how unhappy your father is? Do you despise your mother for causing your father's depression?"

Chase was unable to respond to his grandfather's words. He could only remain silent and stare at the sobbing Hannah.

"Follow our wishes first. You can get to know the woman of your mother's choice, but we will not force you to marry if you are not compatible." Thomas stated this emphatically.

Chase, of course, would use the "unsuitable" part as an excuse for failing to develop a relationship with his mother's preferred woman. For a while, Chase would try to keep up with their game for a while to keep his grandfather and mother quiet.
