Chapter 5 Club

Liam Ramirez keeps his promise to remain loyal to using De Vera's Corporation to attract customers' attention. The man did not go to Chase's competitor, Sheena's husband's production company. If that happens, Thomas will reach out to Chase and propose a new deal that will prevent De Vera's corporation from operating as Chase desires. Even though Chase is the legal owner of De Vera Corporation, he is powerless if his grandfather believes the company is failing.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Ramirez, for officially joining De Vera's Corporation."

As a sign of agreement, Liam and Chase rubbed shoulders. Liam didn't say much, but he couldn't keep his mouth shut while Chase and his men gave their presentation. Liam liked De Vera's Corporation idea so much that he didn't think twice about signing the contract.

"I am very impressed with your team's performance. This will be a major decision that will see R-Bank and De Vera's  Corporation become more successful in the future."

"Of course! Many people will recognize R-Bank and the number of customers will grow."

They discussed a lot of things that sounded trite to the uninitiated. Despite being a client of De Vera's Corporation, Liam Ramirez remains a stranger to Chase. Their good relationship will only last as long as they do business. Chase avoids talking about his past meeting.  Many times they've met, Liam is the one who likes to pry into Chase's personal life without warning. Chase had to be careful with his words in front of Liam because of this.

They hadn't been talking for two hours, but it didn't feel like it. Chase must have put off a lot of work because he was with Liam, who spoke a lot. He had no plans to continue if Liam had not signed a contract with De Vera's Corporation. Fortunately, the man had noticed the time they had just spent talking.

"It looks like we've spent a lot of time talking, Mr. De Vera."

"Time really doesn't matter when talking to you, Mr. Ramirez," Chase said with a smile.

Liam agreed with a nod of his head. "Can we do a more casual call next time?" Liam inquired, hopeful.

"Of course." Maybe we can start using it now?"

"Yes, Chase, I prefer a less rigid call."

Chase maintained his professional demeanor and inquired as to when Liam would be departing. "You must have a busy schedule at work; perhaps we can wrap this up for today, Liam."

Liam appeared unwilling to part based on Chase's observations. Maybe it was just Chase's prejudice.

"Um, by the way Chase." Liam was about to say something but held back.

"Yes? Is there anything else I should know?"

"To commemorate our deal, I'd like to take you to a well-known nightclub in California." "Would you mind?"

Chase avoids crowded nightclubs because he doesn't want to end up sleeping with other random women. However, Liam's invitation is related to their partnership.

"Yes, you can. But I'll still bring Aidan with me to make sure I don't go too far."

Liam excitedly nodded. "No worries! I appreciate your willingness to participate. We're going to have a good time tonight, and I'll send the nightclub's name to your assistant."

Chase couldn't help himself. He would make Liam feel uneasy with rejection. Chase had no choice but to leave, despite his discomfort. Hopefully, Aidan will be able to keep it under control at the nightclub.

***

Chase turned to face Aidan, who was driving quietly. They exited the office early after completing all of Chase's work for the day. Their next plan is to keep their promise to Liam and throw a "party" to celebrate the deal between R-Bank and De Vera's Corporation. Chase felt he despised alcohol at this point. Chase didn't want to express himself in front of Liam. A drunken person's mouth is always full of honesty. It had to have worried Chase, because if Liam was someone he could put his trust in, Chase's heart wouldn't go anywhere. However, if Liam was as cunning as to take advantage of personal matters… Chase will be in big trouble.

"Aidan, make sure nothing important comes out of my mouth.

Aidan's job is to look after Chase no matter what the situation. Being the leader of  De Vera's Corporation is not easy so he makes sure that he is respectable to anyone's eyes; Chase will still have to deal with endless work the next day. Taking advantage of too many of Liam's free services may result in an attack in the future. Like allowing Sheena into Chase's life, she would one day be able to say anything to her husband who wished to see Chase falldown.

At first glance, Liam's business appeared to have nothing to do with Chase. No one, however, understands the man's heart. Liam's desire to be either a friend or a foe… Chase wasn't aware of it yet.

"I know what I'm supposed to do there, sir."

Aidan isn't usually the type to be concerned about personal matters. By keeping his personal life separate from his work, he is a very professional assistant. Even Aidan kept his mouth shut about Chase's private life, which Aidan was well aware of.

"I know you're not the type to get drunk easily. That's why I'm counting on you, Aidan, to look after me."

"I appreciate your compliment, sir."

Chase turned away from Aidan. They were getting closer to the nightclub mentioned by Liam. Chase was certain that nothing bad would happen. And it's time to stop acting in front of Liam, who is overjoyed to see Chase and Aidan's presence.

***

Chase was always reminded of the first time he and Sheena met when he was in a crowd. Chase's frustration was triggered by the crowd, washing his hands before smoking, and finding the woman unexpectedly beside him. Chase does not want this when he goes to a nightclub. Chase will be triggered to say—states about Sheena in regards to being hypnotized to make himself drunk.

"Aidan only needs to finish a shot, Liam, and you'll be surprised at his ability to consume alcohol."

Chase tries to speak with Liam. Chase hopes that by talking to Liam, he will forget about Sheena.

"Is that true? So your assistant is trustworthy in this matter? Then I don't want to be defeated by him. I'll challenge you, Aidan, to see who among us is the strongest!"

Liam is not joking when he challenges Aidan. Chase, on the other hand, is unwilling to be asked to complain about someone who can go a long time without getting drunk.

"I don't believe my boss needs to participate in this competition." Enough of you and me, Mr. Ramirez."

"Okay. I'll remove Chase from the competition. Now, Aidan, show off your abilities!"

Chase had no idea what had happened to the two people who were locked in a stare. Chase is in a bad mood right now because Aidan, who was assigned to look after him, is too preoccupied with competing with Liam, the heir to R-Bank.

"Can I use the restroom for a few moments? You can keep playing."

"Do you need anything, sir?" Aidan inquired.

Chase slowly shook his head. "All I want to do is wash my hands before I smoke.  Continue playing your game."

Aidan chose to believe because it would be better for Chase not to drink the alcohol on their table. The guy is unlikely to get drunk and bother Aidan.

Chase chose to leave the table and walked through the crowd. His tall stature allowed him to see which way the bathroom was. Because of the large number of people present who were busy having fun with themselves, the pace could not be accelerated.

"I hate this situation!" Chase didn't know who to blame, so he cursed quietly.

Because Chase couldn't control his body, he crashed into someone, causing a commotion, because the situation was so crowded.

"Oh my God!"

Chase was aware of a familiar voice in his ears. However, he couldn't see the woman he had run into's face.

"What are you doing?! You ruined my clothes, you stupid!"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

One of the male customers did not assist the waiter to his feet, but when the waiter bent down to clean the broken glass, the male visitor used his foot to touch the waiter's buttocks.

Chase could clearly see the impropriety. Chase chose to remain silent for a time because he didn't want to get involved any further. However, as the commotion became more violent, Chase drew the waitress behind him and prevented the inconsiderate customer from hitting her..

"What is your name? Get yourself out of the way! Don't stop me from teaching that stupid woman a lesson!"

"Do you want me to contact the manager of this club?" Chase made a threat to the arrogant man.

"What the fuck!
"

The arrogant man walked away  from Chase, who quickly turned around to look at the waitress.

"You're fine, s—." Chase was taken aback by the Waitress's clearly visible face at this point. "What exactly are you doing here?" Chase inquired about Ellen.

"Geez! For God's sake, of all the people that I see are really you?Why do I need to see you again? Can't you just not show up in front of me?!"

Ellen was clearly upset about meeting Chase at this point again. It's his first day on the job, and she's already in trouble due to Chase's presence.

"You should not have appeared in front of me! I have enough money to travel wherever I want. As for you..." Chase scrutinized Ellen from head to toe. "Do you have a job here? Do you not work in a hotel?"

Chase's question drew Ellen's attention away from him. She didn't want Dom to know everything.

"I work anywhere, it's none of your business!" Ellen responded sarcasticly.

Chase laughed. "So you lost your job?" You're doing this job because you're not sure what else will accept you. Right?"

Ellen pushed hard him against his chest, but the man grabbed Ellen's wrist first. "Don't you work here? I can get you out of trouble if you follow my orders. If you don't argue with me, a broken glass won't be a problem for you."

Chase's firm tone surprised Ellen. She had no idea why Chase  could be so domineering. Ellen didn't dare to look at Chase eventhough they are really so close to each other.

"Don't mess with me, I'm warning you Mister !" Ellen exclaimed angrily.

"Come to my table right now." You must do a good job for me."

"I work for this place, not for you!"

Chase raised an eyebrow and searched the room for someone. Chase found one of the bartenders and whispered something to him after the man pushed Ellen to the side. The bartender gave Ellen a quick glance before heading to the back.

Chase remained silent as they waited. With Chase's mysterious demeanor, Ellen had no idea what she was in for. Ellen was not going to sell herself to him because she despised Chase.

"Let me go! I don't want to obey your orders."

Chase simply stared at Ellen, saying nothing. Chase tightened his grip on Ellen's hand as she struggled. Ellen was about to rebel when the manager who hired her today came over and smiled at Chase.

"Is there anything that bothers you, Mr. De Vera?"

Ellen looked at her manager and then at Chase. The woman was perplexed because Chase had received excellent care. The club manager seemed to recognize Chase, so he smiled and nodded his head like a very obedient subordinate.

"Can this waitress serve my table?  I asked her to pour me a drink and do whatever else she could. Don't worry about money. You know who I am, so I make certain that everything runs smoothly. I'm having a good time, and the nightclub is doing well."

Ellen didn't know how important Chase would be to businesses in all over the Philippines he has all the connections to anyone. So no one can't resist his request and his confident comments and the ease with which he got Ellen's manager to nod showed that he had a lot of power.

Ellen faintly communicated a shake to her manager. However, Ellen's voice wouldn't be heard among people with thick wallets. Ellen had been pulled over by the man she loathed as soon as her manager replied to Chase with polite words.

Chase approached the table where he sat with Liam and Aidan. However, the sight Chase found made him discouraged from joining the table. Aidan and Liam were busy kissing without caring about the surroundings. Chase looked over at Ellen's reaction, who was surprised.

Chase chose to reserve a private room on the third floor for himself. Chase had no intention of interfering with Aidan and Liam's kissing, and he wanted to make his own for Ellen, who had been acting so casually all this time.

"Where are you taking me to?"

Chase didn't respond, but he promised to make sure they got to the room Chase desired.

"Chase!"

Chase grabbed Ellen without hesitation and inserted the room access card. The man pushed Ellen in as soon as the door opened. "Why on earth did you do to bring me here?"

"Stop yelling. You'll only end up hurting your vocal cords."

"Allow me to leave! I have to go to work!"

"Ellen, you're at work. Tonight, you will be working under my supervision. So, stop fighting. Because the more you rebel, the more difficult my life will become for you."

Chase could see Ellen's fear in her eyes at that point. She looked scared for the first time after bravely spitting in Chase's face and throwing shoes at Chase's moving car. However, the fear in Ellen's eyes wouldn't stop Chase. Chase would show his power to Ellen so she wouldn't dare be so rude to Chase again.
