Chapter 20

"I'd do anything to please my mate." He said with a smirk on his lips, wrapping an arm around her waist and bringing her close to his chest. He kissed her before pulling back and looking back over to Callie. I wanted to tear him apart, I wanted to rip off each and every limb. How could someone do this to our children? They were innocent, they didn't deserve what they were going through. My little Payton didn't deserve to be taken away so early. Now seeing Trevor cry in terror, tears falling down his cheeks, I wanted nothing more than to kill all of them with my bare hands.

Alpha Chand made sure to keep me back, constantly telling me that it wasn't the time to attack. We weren't stupid into believing to come here alone. We had a few friends but they were hiding until we really needed them.

"I trusted you Rob!" Callie cried out. My eyes traveled over to her and I could see the heart break clear on her face. Although she never admitted it to herself I knew that she had feelings for him, but she never acted upon it. What she had told me, how I was always there in her mind I felt guilty. Guilt ate at me the minute I rejected her but I was a stubborn bastard, and sadly I still am. I wanted to have Callie as my mate, she was absolutely perfect but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Callie deserved someone who wouldn't have a second thought about being with her. We both craved to have someone to love, but we can't get over obstacles. I hated that I was her obstacle.

"Let my grandson go." I heard Skylar growl and stepped forward. She walked past my father and I, standing by Alpha Chand. He nodded his head towards her and she greeted him with the same gesture.

"We'll let him go, if you come with us." Emily stated calmly. My eyes widened in shock, everyone knew what could possibly happen if Skylar went with them. She'd die and Emily would take control of the supernatural world. I saw Skylars eyes widen, she was thinking exactly what we were. But as I looked back at my son all I could think about was getting him back, I'd do anything to have in my arms, safe.

"Skylar you know you can't go with them, you and everyone else here knows what will happen." I heard Alpha Chand, and for the first moment I saw worry on his face. That didn't help ease me in any way. There was no way on earth that any one here would let Skylar go. If she went with them who knows what Emily would do with that kind of power. She would be the new ruler of the supernatural world and I can definitely say that she wouldn't be so kind as to sparing our family. Something had to be done because there was no way I was leaving without my son. I'd rather die than let them hurt him.

"What other choice do I have Chand, I will not let them hurt my last grandson. Emily, if I go with you do you promise to spare my grandson and family?" Skylar asked but I noticed the subtle movement behind Emily and her evil clan. I tried not to give anything away but I finally understood what she was doing. Cat and mouse, she's playing with them long enough so they have enough time to get into position. My heart was racing as I watched the exchange, terrified of what this outcome could possibly be.

"I can promise that this brat won't be harmed but that son of yours killed my father. He will not be spared, your entire family will not be spared." She sneered, wanting to attack but Rob kept her back. Trevor was still crying, crying out for both Callie and I. It warmed my heart that he wanted me to protect him but I still couldn't ignore the pain that brewed as I watched him writhing around, trying anything that he possibly could to escape. The man who held onto him was getting irritated by Trevors movements, the glare prominent as he tried his best to ignore it. I heard him growl and watched him shove my son to the ground, pulling his leg back before kicking it hard into Trevors stomach. His scream pierced my ears, my wolf immediately loosing control as I watched him hurt my pup. Callie had the same experience as she immediately transformed into her wolf and ran towards him.

That move set everyone into action. The anger consumed me and before I knew it I had shifted and had already ran towards the man who attacked my son. Callie was a head of me but we were a second to late at reaching them before the man picked Trevor up and they flew up from the ground. I growled lowly, trying to jump up and attempt to catch any part of him, hopefully his foot so I could rip it off. I heard the screams around us, battle cries as our allies emerged from the forest, but Emily had an army herself. They all flew down from the sky, attacking without mercy.

The man flew with Trevor, landing at the edge of the forest on the other side of the clearing. I leaned back, snarling and growling before sprinting after him. This time Callie and I were running next to each other. Both of us would show now mercy when we caught him. He only smirked at us, taunting us while he threw Trevor over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Trevor screamed, banging his small hands on his back. I easily spotted Emily and Rob to the right, standing calmly. Allies attempted attacking them but it was as if there was a barrier around them, making it impossible for anyone to reach them.

Just as I focused back onto the man with my son my eyes widened as I noticed he had disappeared and that I was about to hit a tree. I tried stopping in time but it was no use as I collided with the tree, snapping it in half. I slowly stood back up, shaking off my fur before trying to locate the man again. My heart was racing, my fear spiking as I couldn't seem to find him. I instead tried looking for Callie since I knew she would still be hunting him down. I immediately spotted her and she was trying to enter the barrier around Emily. I ran as fast as I could, the instinct of saving my pup the most important thing on my mind. As I reached the barrier I saw that, that man was inside of the barrier. Smirking at Callie and I.

"ENOUGH!" Emily screamed before stepping closer to the barrier, facing Skylar. She stood with proud confidence, smirking as she looked Skylar over. She placed a hand on the barrier, tilting her head to the side before winking.

"You have one week to make a choice or else we kill the brat. Toodles." She chuckled, waving at us before walking back to Rob. My eyes widened and I tried with the last amount of energy I had to break the barrier. Rob wrapped his arm around her waist and they both waved at us tauntingly before they disappeared along with the man who held Trevor.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Was his last scream before they disappeared completely from our eyes. Just as the barrier went down down Callie jumped, but fell to the ground as there was no longer a barrier anymore. She fell to the ground, rolling over and whimpering before she limped back to the spot they had just been, clawing at the ground. I could hear her painful cries from where I stood, my heart breaking. I stood there in complete shock, not being able to move a muscle. They had taken my son and I was to powerless to protect him. I failed him.

"Skylar!" I heard someone cry out. We all turned our attention to Skylars brother Liam running towards her. Tears were streaming down his cheeks as he tried catching his breathe.

"What is it Liam? Whats wrong!" She yelled in a panic, running over to him and trying to get the words out of his mouth.

"Its Will." He cried, grabbing her hand and rushing her towards her oldest brother. We all ran after them, Callie included. As we approached a group of people surrounding him I could already tell by the way his mate was crying.

Will was dead.
