Chapter 12

Adrian's POV

Flashback

Everything had seemed to be going fine. We had been staying in the pack for over a month now and everyone loved Emily. I couldn't blame them. She was the best Luna possible. She always helped out in the kitchen, with the pups, basically anything that needed help with, she was there. I knew of no one who didn't like her, well except my Father.

"Adrian, would you just listen to me!" He insisted, following after me as I walked into my private office. I rolled my eyes, already annoyed by this man. I felt his hand on my shoulder and immediately ripped away from him.

"Don't touch me!" I yelled, stepping away from him. He looked down in shame as he stood in front of my desk. I sat down in the chair, looking through a few papers. I noticed that he hadn't left yet, which began to make me nervous and annoyed. Why did he all of a sudden care? He never did in the first place, why now?

"Why are you still here?" I questioned, looking up at him with a scowl. He held the glare, though soon looked away. And he said I was the coward. The man couldn't look his own son in the eye.  He pulled one of the chairs out, sitting down and looking at me. I growled under my breath, wishing that he would just disappear.

"I think you should leave Emily." He stated, making my eyes widen. I scoffed and glared at him.

"And what makes you think that I'll listen to your opinion?" I snarled, feeling myself become in ragged at the crazy idea. He sighed in frustration, like I wasn't understanding a simple answer.

"Just trust me. She is no good for you-"

"Why should I listen to you, huh? What have you ever done to make me trust your judgment? You ruined my life! Thanks to you, I can barely stand the touch of another persons. My wife and I barely touch because of it, because of you! It's all your fault!"

"I know that I hurt you Adrian, but I am your Father. I know what's good for you, and that girl is not-"

"Get out." I interrupted him, making him look at me in shock.

"Adrian-" I stood up quickly, the chair flying back against the wall and smashing into pieces. I slammed my hands on the desk, snarling at him.

"I said get out! Leave! I don't want you in this pack anymore!" I yelled, growing more and more angry. He continued to look up at me in shock, before looking down and standing up. He walked over to the door, placing his hand on the door knob, but then looked at me.

"I'll leave, but I have faith that you'll see the truth soon." He said before opening the door and stepping out. Once the door slammed shut, I broke. Falling down to my knees, I could feel tears running down my cheeks. I had thought of this moment for so long and always expected to be happy and relieved that I was finally rid of him, but I wasn't. Yes that man had ruined my childhood, but he was still a part of my life. I couldn't just throw him away, and yet, I had done just that. If people knew the truth, they'd call me a hypocrite, and I wouldn't deny it.

I sat there for a while, lost in my own thoughts. I sighed, resting my head against the desk before heaving myself up. I mind-linked someone to clean up the mess before heading out. As I walked down the stairs, people were hustling and bustling around, paying no mind to me. Shrugging I headed out, needing a run to clear my head. I stripped behind a tree, before shifting and heading off.

As I ran, I slowly began to relax, forgetting the world around me. I didn't stay out for long though, wanting to see my wife got the best of me. I turned around and began the journey back home. Once there, I pulled my clothes on and headed into the house. Walking up the stairs, I smelt something. Walking further up I recognised it as blood, Emily's blood. I rushed up the rest of the stairs before barging into our room.

My eyes widened in horror as I saw the room in complete shambles. I heard whimpering coming from the bedroom and ran over to it. Slamming the door open I saw Emily laying besides the bed, covered in blood.

"Emily!" I yelled in fear and rushed over to her side. She looked up at me before screaming loudly.

"Somebody help me! Help me please!" She wailed as I tried to hold her still, getting her blood all over me. I was scared to death by her reaction, not understanding it.

"Emily calm down, it's me. It's Adrian-"

"Please help me, he's trying to kill me!" She continued to scream, her voice piercing through my ears making me hiss in pain. I soon heard footsteps running up to our room before Troy and a few other members ran in.

"Thank gawd you're here. I don't know-"

"What did you do!" Troy yelled, rushing over. He shoved me to the side, taking Emily into his arms.

"Hey, leave my wife-"

"He tried to kill me!" She yelled, pointing her finger up at me. My eyes widened in shock as I looked down at her. Troy looked at me with a glare.

"What, no I didn't!" I yelled back defensively, stepping back as the warriors turned to face me.

"He's lying! Why would I lie to you?" She whimpered softly, placing her head on Troy's chest.

"You have to believe me, I had nothing to do with this-" I tried to explain but Troy cut me off.

"Save it, you tried to kill our Luna, for that I have no choice but to arrest you. Get him!" He ordered the warriors, standing up with Emily in his arms. The warriors attacked, jumping at me but I dodge all of them. Rushing out the room, I ran out the pack house. I could hear the alarms going off, all the growls that were chasing me. Jumping over a log, I shifted in mid-air. My paws hit the ground and I continued to run, not looking back.

None could catch up to me since I was faster. Soon I felt myself crossing the pack border, but I didn't stop. I kept running, going to the safest place I knew of. Why did she say those things? Why would the pack believe I did that? So many thoughts ran through my mind as I passed the border. Hearing howls approaching me, I didn't care. I ran until I finally reached the front door of the pack house. As I slowed down, my head began to spin.

"Adrian? What are you doing here?" I heard the voice of Izzy, but never responded as I fell to the ground, passing out. Last thing I thought of, was betrayal.
