Chapter 11

Adrian's POV

Flashback

I smiled, looking out the window, feeling my excitement growing as we near our destination. It has been over a month since Emily and I married. I couldn't be happier. When ever I remembered something about my past, Emily was always there to cheer me up. I don't know what I would have done if I never met her. I know that I probably would have still rejected Callie. That would have happened no matter what.

I never wanted to hurt her, but this was my decision for a long time, and I wasn't going back on my word. Plus, having Emily, I knew that she loved me unconditionally. We loved each other without a bond telling us too.

As the trees passed us by I could already feel us passing through the pack border. It was time that I finally introduce Emily to my pack. At our wedding the pack attended but they never got to formally meet her. Right after our ceremony we went straight to our honeymoon destination.

"You're very excited." Emily commented as I turned onto a dirt road, practically bouncing in my chair. I smiled, looking at her, out of the corner of my eye. Gawd, she is so beautiful. I'm so lucky.

"Well what did you expect? You're finally meeting my entire pack." She chuckles softly, shaking her head before resting it against the window, watching as we continue to drive in a comfortable silence. I take her one hand in mine, squeezing it gently.

"Everything will be fine. They'll love you. I promise." She leans over and kisses my cheek softly. We soon arrive at our destination and I couldn't help but release a sigh, relishing in the feel of my home. I loved staying by Theo, but I missed my pack. I'd die for each and everyone of them. I always made a note to mention that to them, which they would always replicate for me. They were the best family I could possibly ever have. Sure, some were against me marrying someone who's not my mate, but they never went far in trying to change my mind. They never knew my reason, and they never will.

"You ready?" I ask her as I notice my close friend and Beta exiting the front door, walking over to our car. She smiles and nods her head, looking at Troy. We both climb out and greet him.

"Good to see you again Alpha." He says, pulling me in for a man hug. I pat his back and pull away. He turns and looks at Emily before greeting her as well.

"Nice to officially meet you Luna." He says respectfully.

"Nice to meet you too Troy. Adrian has told me a lot about you." I smile and go to grab our bags. Troy helps as Emily walks inside the pack house. I enter and watch as she introduces herself to everyone new she see's. Walking up to the top floor doesn't take long and soon all our bags are packed away.

I walk down stairs before stopping and seeing a familiar face.

"Adrian."

"Father."

"We need to talk."

I do wish that I had listened to him that day. After all the shit he has thrown my way, he had tried to help. But I wouldn't listen, thinking that he was just trying to control me once again. I refused and told him to leave me alone. After that I would always see him around the pack but never made the move to speak to him. He tried a few times in the beginning but soon gave up as I just stuck to ignoring him.

I growl loudly, shaking all of those memories and thoughts from my head as I continue to walk through the woods. I had calmed down long again and was now just roaming the area. I still couldn't forget how Callie had yelled and screamed at me. I knew she wanted answers, but it wasn't her damn business. My past doesn't have anything to do with our sons.

"Except for the fact that you rejected her because of your past. Just think, you probably would still be your old self if you never left her." My wolf comments, making me snort.

"What's done is done. I won't tell her anything. I don't trust her." I say to him as we start to make our way back to the car.

"You're not giving her a chance to earn your trust." He states before going silent. Stupid wolf, I comment, shaking my head before stopping short, not seeing the car anywhere. I growl and start to follow Callie's scent. Probably went to a rest stop. Great now I have to follow a scent that smells good but belongs to a person I want nothing to do with. It doesn't take long before I see a small Motel up ahead. I run over and immediately notice my car. I follow her scent to a room on the top floor.

I change back into my human form and open the door, tsking as I see its unlocked. I hear a scream and look over to the bed and seeing Callie there, holding a hand over her chest.

"You could have given me a heart attack!" She yells making me roll my eyes. She looks at me with a glare as I walk into the tiny room before her eyes suddenly widen and she covers them.

"Put on some clothes! You're naked!" She screeches loudly, making me wince. I growl in annoyance and walk to the bathroom.

"Not like you haven't seen it before." I state and watch as she blushes. It's kind of cute-No Adrian. No its not.

"Just put something on please." I sigh and walk over to my bag, pulling out some clothes and putting it on.

"There. Happy?" I ask sarcastically. She removes her hands from her eyes and nods shyly. Dammit Callie stop that. I growl under my breath before sitting down on one of the chairs. She looks at me but says nothing. It soon becomes highly annoying and I turn to face her with a glare.

"Can I help you with something?" I snap at her.

"You can tell me the truth-" Before she finishes I groan loudly, running my hands over my face.

"Just drop it Callie. I don't want to talk about it. I just want to forget about it, you wouldn't understand-" I say but she interrupts me.

"Are you serious right now? Adrian I try so hard to forget about everything in my past. All because of you. It's cause of you that I'm a single mother. It's cause of you that I don't trust people so easily. It's cause of you that I can't find someone else cause I always compare them to you! I just want to forget! I want to move on with life and not have to be haunted by you constantly!" She yells, standing up from the bed and pacing around the room, letting a few tears fall.

I look down, not being able to see her like this. It goes on for a few minutes, me just sitting there not saying anything while she sits back down, wiping at her eyes.

"I-I didn't know t-that's how you felt." I say nervously, looking up at her. She doesn't look at me though.

"How would you. You left me." I wince slightly. I've always felt guilty for what I did to her, but I never expected her to end up like this.

"I'm sorry Callie." I say softly and run my fingers through my hair, before inhaling deeply. I sigh and look up at her once again, wringing my fingers together.

"It all started with my Father..."

This is for my children.

I wish that were the whole truth, but I'd be lying if I said that. I was doing this for closure. For both Callie and I. She needed to know the truth.
