8. First task

Angelina Roscoe's POV

I was feeling weird. I didn't know what was happening but I felt like I needed to go somewhere. But I had no appointment or anything. The pull got stronger and I gave in to the feeling. I was told to give into that kind of feelings and I would be teleported to the place where I was needed.

When I opened my eyes, I was standing in a dark place. A light was blinking far away from that place. I couldn't understand, I was there. I looked are and saw two people digging up the ground and a little boy was laying there a bit away from them. I looked around in search of his soul but I didn't see anything that meant he was alive.

They were going to bury him alive! I felt so angry but I saw the devils spawns around us, who were waiting for them to bury him and get charged for their bad work. I smirked, "Not today, losers. That boy will live and I would collect some good energy to unlock my powers."

I brought out my phone from my bag and dialed the emergency number. That was my old number but they would fail to trace it. No one can trace a ghost. I informed them about what was happening and they said the police were on their way. I decided to have some fun. They were trying to kill someone at this time of the night. They would probably believe in ghosts as well. I was getting used to calling myself a ghost but I was far different from that. I kicked some soil on them that they dug before. One of them realized it and looked around.

He continued digging after seeing no one. I again kicked some soil on him and that time he slapped his companion's back. "Why are you throwing it on me? Are you trying to get me caught? I won't go down alone!"

"What are you talking about? I didn't do anything." The other one refused to accept any accusation. That time a very chilly wind started to flow and it scared them. When I used to watch horror films, I wondered why those ghosts play with their preys but I understood it now. It indeed gave a sadistic pleasure. I needed to keep it in check.

"Dig it fast, I am getting scared." They tried to dig faster but then a siren was heard indicating the police' arrival. Those men were caught red-handed. I hear them shouting that they did nothing wrong and shook my head. People like them were pathetic and unfortunately, the numbers of pathetic men were big.

The kid was sent to the hospital and the police were trying to trace me. I sensed the angry demons far from me. I snatched their snacks so it was obvious. I decided to go back to Roman but instead of teleporting to his room, I was in the living room. Nobody could see me though no one was there. I decided to look for the cooks, they always had something for their gossip sessions.

They were preparing dishes for dinner. "Who do you think Roman is going to get married? He did not get out of the house nor someone came to meet him then how did he choose?" one of them asked.

"I think, he just said that to convince himself that Lina is alive. It could be his way to cope."

"Or he is getting mad."

"Don't say like that!" others protested. There were only three of them in the kitchen.

"Whoever is going to be the bride, please just let her be a good person."

"Lina was so good with us. I hope she is in a better place."

We all heard a sound from the living room. Someone broke something. "It must be Hunter. That son of a witch! His father was so good but he turned into like his mother."

"Shut up! He might come here for food and if he heard you then you are as good as gone." But he didn't come inside the kitchen or barked for food.

"Well, he probably went to his room to finish the alcohol stock there." They shrugged and started working again. One of them just took out a batch of fried chicken. I picked one piece of chicken when she was not looking and went away from there.

I went to Hunter's room and the room was pretty much dark. I was sure that the devils were lurking in this room before I came back to the house. He was sitting on a chair with a glass of alcohol. He was in a deep thought. I tried to hear his thoughts. I knew they would be entertaining that's why I brought a snack aka fried chicken with me.

"Two days are left and I couldn't even found out who was his new bride. I thought he would go mad but he behaved like nothing happened. Maybe we don't know Roman at all. We thought he loved her but it's possible that he was acting because she was the only heiress of the Roscoe industry. He might have had a backup plan but who is this woman?" He threw the glass away in frustration.

I smirked because it was a bad move for him. He took another glass and stretched his hand for the bottle but it fell and had broken into pieces. He cursed in frustration, that was an expensive bottle. He got up to bring another bottle from his shelf but found all the bottles empty. "What the... Who finished all of them?! Someone took all of them but who? Roman, who else. God damn! I should have killed him instead of Lina. What a waste!"

He stormed towards the door to get out and probably fight with Roman. I was already angry because of his comment of killing Roman. So, I decided to punish him for the rest of the night. He tried to open it but the door was locked. He kicked it because he was getting really angry because of the little things happening with him. He shouted for someone to open the door but he didn't realize that no sound was going out of his room. He would be locked there for an entire night even his house phone and mobile would not work.

Satisfied with my work, I went straight to Roman's room. I didn't make myself visible for a while as I didn't want him to get scared. He was standing in front of the window, looking at the sky with a long face. He was hurting but did not show it to me. It was hard to accept that your close ones are the reason for your destruction. "I know you are here, Lina. I always know whenever you are around me."

I was literally floored. He couldn't see me but he could feel me. I would have skipped a few beats of my heart if it was beating. I stood beside him and asked, "What are you looking up there?"

"You know, whenever you leave, I start to think that all of this is my imagination. I am getting mad while thinking about you." He said sadly and turned towards me.

"Well, I would have thought the same as well but you are not getting mad. You are just introduced to another side of the world. Don't worry, you will believe it more after you get married." I tried to lighten up the atmosphere.

"I am waiting for that day only. Our actual plan would start from there. It's going to take long for you to get your revenge if you don't use any evil means. That's fine by me though because then you will be with me for a long time." he said caressing my cheeks.

"It would but it would be worth it. I already locked him in his room. Nothing can make him leave the room before morning."

"At least you did something to him. Only I know how I managed to keep my anger at bay when I saw him after your revelation. I swear, I was ready to kill him in a minute. If you weren't there then I would have done it. That's why I didn't even get out of my room because I would lose control." Anger was visible on his face but we have to wait.
