4. Hallucination

Hunter Ellington's POV

I was feeling free like truly free. Angelina Roscoe was gone and so was Roman's support system. It's been three days since Roman locked himself in his room. He should stay there and become crazy day by day.

The music was blaring and the whole place was filled with colorful dim lights. The party was one of the best parties that I threw. I tried to gather the best and I did.

Rafael, one of my good friends came and sat beside me. "Finally, you made it!" I said with a mocking smile.

"Honestly, I didn't think that invitation was serious. Only three days ago you would be sister-in-law died."

"So? Why should I mourn for her? It's good that she died now Roman will become so weak that he will have to leave his position. No position, no power, no money." I finished my drink in one go and stood up. "Come on, grab a drink, and join us on the dance floor. Many hot girls are here at our disposal."

I went on the dance floor and greeted my friends there who were busy grinding with the girls. I too let the beat absorb within me and soon I was moving my body according to the beats. I could feel girls surrounding me, as always.

My nature was a bit prickly but I gave little attention to them so that I could choose one for the night. It could be a bit difficult to choose only one. Just then I saw two very hot girls were dancing around me, waiting for my attention.

I decided that I want both of them in bed with me.. Together. More the merrier. I hold both of their hands and pulled them to me. First, they thought they have to compete with each other but I let them know that if they want me then they have to cooperate.

They waited for a few seconds and then gave each other a smile. I smirked, of course, they would cooperate. It's not the first time for me to entertain two girls together.

I left the dance floor with them and heard my friends hooting behind us. I was a proud man and everything was feeding my ego more and more.

After a long session for several hours, I left the bed and the ladies were sleeping with a thin duvet over them. Both of them were exhausted. I walked out of the room without sparing them a look.

We still had a few hours before dawn and the party became crazier. I spotted my friends and joined them.

"Look, the top scorer has finally graced ys with his presence."

I laughed, "You people flatter me so much."

"We don't." Rafael started. "You again scored two together. Your time is going really well."

"I agree with you. My time is finally good."

"Are you going to work seriously from now on?"

I took a drink and laugh. "Work? Come on, I will be the heir after Roman, and trust me at least ten of my kids and spend their life without working at all with that money. Now I will have the power and money. I can do anything I want now."

His friends made an 'Ooo' sound. "You lucky b*sterd!"

"Drink more. It's a celebration for me." All of us clinked our glasses and drank with our hearts content. Poor Angel, I warned her though.

Roman Ellington's POV

"Roman Ellington! How dare you didn't call me for a week?!" Lina's whole face was red in anger.

"I know and I am sorry. I was so busy and also the time didn't match that's why I couldn't call you."

"You dare to give me work excuses! You don't love me anymore, right? That's why you are drifting away." her eyes filled with tears.

"What the heck? Where did you get that nonsense? There is nothing like that. Why are you questioning my love for you? I thought we both knew it."

"Of course I knew or I thought I knew."

"What do you mean?" I frowned.

"The boyfriend who used to call me every hour didn't talk or return my calls for a whole week, what do you want me to think?" she was looking too cute with her angry pout, red nose and eyes filled with unshed tears.

I went close to her and caressed her cheeks, "Silly, You think too much." after that a kiss made everything good.

I was laying on the floor, spreading my hands and legs. I didn't know if I was breathing. For the hundredth of times, I was going through our memories and then everything hurts.

It's been three days since I locked myself in. My sister and few maids urged me to get outside but if I got out then I would have to face the reality. The reality of her being no more and I couldn't see, touch, or hold her ever. I was keeping myself sane by locking myself.

I saw the news and they couldn't find her body. Her driver got his funeral in the presence of his family members.

I still couldn't believe that she was not here anymore. I kept seeing her when I was drunk and lost. My stock of alcohol in my room was finished too. Now I can't get drunk to numb the pain and hallucinate her again.

"You promised, Lina. You promised me a beautiful future. You promised to wipe all the bad memories off but you yourself are gone. How am I going to live anymore when my soul mate is gone?"

I sat leaning on the bed and huffed. My own breath was annoying me. I took the remote and turn on the TV. I didn't want to hear the news of her death. I wanted them to find her and I wanted the opposite to happen too. I would be alive if they didn't find her.

The news was full of her missing body and how I was locked in my room. Then they started discussing if I could take the blow and start working and if not then who is going to get the power and what will happen to Lina's business as well.

I wondered how they didn't have any news about politics, government, or anything else. A person was missing, we didn't know if she was alive or not but they were sitting there and discussing her property and who will get what. It was indeed a catchy topic to attract the audience and increase channel ratings. I remembered what happened when we were caught by paparazzi,

"See, what they are writing about us?" Lina threw a newspaper at me. I didn't need to see what it was about because my father already created a scene earlier because of the gossip about us.

"They could have written anything, Roman but no they had to make us f*ck buddies! Like where the heck we gave them that expression? We were just dating!" Lina was pacing to and fro.

"Trust me. I am disgusted too. They think that we are helping each other in business and fooling around. I admit that many business associates did that but printing something like that too on the front page is extreme."

"What are we going to do? If Our clients' business associates believe them then we are done for." Lina breathed heavily. She was the heiress and such scandal was harmful to her career.

"Calm down. Everything will be fine." I had the solution all the time with me.

"Calm down? Do you have any idea that they are discussing our relationship live? See it yourself. I was so disgusted that I couldn't even watch it for two minutes."

"They got some hot topic obviously they will use it to increase their ratings." I walked around my office table and stood in front of her. "I wanted to do this last night but damn those idiots for ruining it."

"Do what?" Lina frowned.

I didn't go on my knee because it wasn't the time or we had the mood. So, I just pulled out the box from my pocket and opened it. "I think we had been dating for enough time. I don't want to wait any longer to let others know that you are off limits. Will you marry me, Lina?"

I tried so hard to stop my laugh after seeing the shocked expression on her face. "You were going to propose me last night?"

"Yes." I gave her an amused look.

"Damn those f*cker for ruining my romantic proposal! You idiots will die single!" I laughed and slide the ring on her finger.

"I didn't say 'yes' yet."

I pulled her close and kissed her temple. "Your anger indicated that it's a 'yes'."

I suddenly felt weird. As if my restless heart was starting to get calm. I couldn't understand because the only one who could give me peace was gone.

Soon a mixture of flower and fruity scent invaded my nostrils. It was her smell so, I started to look around in search of her. It was really going out of hand and my heart was craving her but my mind asked a question.

Am I hallucinating again?

But I am not drunk.
