CHAPTER 2:Gaze

I decided to visit a gadget store. I want to see if there are new cellphones that I would approve to buy.

I was busy scrolling on the cellphone displayed in the counter when a girl in her twenty’s kept on bumping me.

I look at her to read her mind.

D-did she just put something inside my bag?

I grab my shoulder bag hanging beside me and opened it.

“Hey! What is that?” One of the employees approaches angrily.

I immediately look at the girl who immediately went out of the store.

“You! I will throw you there,” I mumbled.

Yes, I made sure not to forget her face.

“Come here!” the woman pulled me as she grabs the cellphone inside my bag.

“It wasn’t me,” I told her.

“You were already caught red-handed,” she hissed.

“I told you, it wasn’t me!” I told her again.

But she did not listen. She did not even bother to look at me. I can already feel her grip biting my wrist.

“Ouch!” she shouted.

I hate to do it but I can not help it.

“What was that?” she asked as she looks at her burned palm.

I look at her in disgrace. If I could only toast her alive. Right here, right now. Oh, I would love to that to her.

My gazes did not leave her. I want her to feel my wrath that is about to come.

But I guess she did not see it.

She called the security team which made the people come to us and watch what was happening.

“She is a thief!” she said loudly. Enough to be heard by the people inside the store.

Everyone looks at me in disgrace and disbelief.

“Is she a student?

“She’s too young to be a thief.

“You can not judge people now by the way they look.

I bit my lower lip to halt myself from answering them.

This is bad, I might blow up the whole store if I get irritated.

“Hey! May I ask what happened?” a very low voice from my back asked.

Another curious human on the run?

“She stole a cellphone and kept in inside her bag.” She even looks at me as if she is sure and she sees it.

I immediately closed my eyes as I feel the burning sensation from my cornea. I know any minute I might kill the woman in front of me because of a heart attack.

“I think she is a minor.” He grabs my hand and pulled me away from the woman.

That the time I decided to face him.

“How old are you? Let me see your ID,” he said as he looks at me.

I immediately open my shoulder bag and took out my Identification card,

It happens all the time that my card is always needed every time I came here in the human world.

What is wrong with these humans?

Good thing it does not state there on what kind of species is the holder.

I wonder how they would act if it is written that I am a devil?

I am pissed.

“She is only twenty years old,” he said as he gave back my card to me.

“Do you have a lawyer? Let’s call your parents.” He took his cellphone out of his pants pocket.

“I do not have anyone to call to,” I answered as I look at him.

“W-What? Don’t tell me your parents are dead.” He stares at me.

“N-no, He—my father is not in the country right now,” I said.

“But still we needed to call him, right now,” he insisted.

W-what, you want to call Hades here?

Are you sure?

Unless you want to visit the underworld, free of charge.

“I can not do that. He is probably on the plane,” I said as I took my cellphone out.

Everyone looks at the phone I am holding. It was an iPhone 5 Black Diamond that Hades gave me for quite a while.

“Oh my God! She is rich.

I heard one of the curious people mumbled.

I wonder why is a need to call on Somebody just because of curiosity.

“Where did you get that?

“I bet you stole that?

She did not even bother to listen to her words.

I walked slowly towards her as I stare at her.

“Why, do you have this item here?” I asked.

“Tell me if you have one, I am going to buy it for you.” I made sure to linger my voice inside her head.

Until I saw her blushed and hold her head with her both hands. I smiled with her actions.

You will feel me more later, dear.

I was busy bothering her mind with my presence when suddenly someone stopped me.

“You should not be bringing that kind of gadget anywhere.” I felt his hands again on my hand. Pulling me to move back from the woman.

I suddenly faced him and stares at him.

A man in his thirties. Thirty-two years old to be exact. He stands six feet and two inches. Deep brown almond-shaped eyes, that look a bit shivering. Pointed nose and pouty lips that somewhat reminds of my favorite Korean Actor that leads a story of a character from a series book. He looks so much like him. I wonder if he has a blood of a Korean, but his family name says it all.

The third child in the family. His family lives abroad and currently living alone in his own house.

He is currently working in his firm as a family lawyer and a criminal lawyer.

Attorney Nathaniel Montes.

I was still busy staring at his face when I heard a familiar voice at my back.

"M-Madam, what happened?"

I do not need to look at the one asking. I know it was Sisa.

"Did something happened?" She walks fast beside me.

I immediately took my savings card inside my purse and gave it to her.

"Pay for the phone or I will toss her soul in the burning pit down below." I walk out of the store without hesitation.

I can still feel everyone's gazes are still on me.

I badly wanted to toast that woman, alive. But I also cannot forget the man's presence, Attorney Montes. I know we will see each other again.
