HEALER

I'm on my way home since my mom was worried about me. I didn't go home for almost three days because I needed to be there for my patient and attend meetings. I know I don't have the right to complain, I chose this profession so I need to be strong.

"Mom! I'm here" I said as I walk inside our house

"Look at you, did you even eat?" she says looking so worried

"I did, don't worry" I replied

"Come on, I cook a lot for you to regain your strength," she said

"Sure, let me just change my clothes" and go to my room after changing I go directly to the dining area.

"When did you prepare all this?" I ask in amazement, she really cooks a lot

"Well, It's my day off today so I have a lot of time" she answered

"This is great, anyway Camille is coming over." I said

"Really? That's good. I also want to see her. I miss that kid" and she smiles

"Umm..Mom I need to tell you something" why am I getting nervous?

"What's that?" she asked

"Please don't be shock but I'm getting married" she almost choke when I said that

"Here drink this" and I gave her water. She drinks it and looks at me

"You're getting what?!" you can see a mixture of shock and conciseness in her eyes.

"Look mom, I know that you're confused right now but you heard it correctly. I’m planning to propose to Camille and get married, she’s the only person for me mom and I want to start a family with her." I explained

"Sorry, I overreacted. It's just too sudden but I think it's time for you to have your own family. I mean you're already at the right age and you already have a stable job so why not. I'm happy for you son" and she stands to hug me

"Thank you mom" and I hug her back

-ding..dong...

"Oh, she's here. Let me get the door" I stand up and open the door

"Hi" she was holding a bouquet of flower and a cake

"Hello, let me help you with that" then I take it from her

"Thanks" she smiles

"Come on, my mom is waiting at the dining table." I said as we walk there together

"I'm nervous" she whispered which make me laugh a bit

"Don't be, my mom loves you very much. You know that" I said

"Camille! I miss you" my mom suddenly hugs her when we get there.

"I miss you too auntie. How are you?" as she hugs her back

"I'm doing great" my mom answered "Come on join us, take a sit" I pull the chair beside mine

"So I heard that you planning to getting married? What did your parents say about this matter?" my mom start the conversation

"Actually we didn't tell them yet, we want you to be the first one to know. " I said

"Oh, I see. By the way, we should eat first, let's discuss that later." she said

"Yeah that's better," I said "What do you want to eat?" I asked Camille

"I want everything, of course. I miss auntie's food" she says, mom looks so happy to hear what she just said.

"You should eat a lot." mom said to her

"Yes auntie"

After dinner, I decided to fix everything so that they'll have some time together. My mom and Camille were very close and if I say close she sees Camille as her daughter. As I said we've been through a lot together, including what happened to my family. She was there beside me and didn't leave even when I shouted at her, embarrassed her, and ignored her because of what my dad did. Thinking all those things makes me realize that she doesn't deserve a man like me but I love her and I promise to do anything for her.

"Thinking too much?"

"Camille! When did you get here?" I said

"Haha, you should look at your face right now. You’re so shocked" then she giggles

"Hey, I'm busy fixing here when you just appeared out of nowhere." I said

"Yeah whatever, well I'm going to make a coffee. Do you want some?" she said

"Sure, I'm also done here anyway" I answered

"Okay"

When I'm done I just watch her making coffee, she's just so pretty you know. I can't take my eyes off her. Am I being cheesy already? Well, I can't help it when I'm with her.

"Please say hello to your parents for me. We'll be going to visit them soon." Mrs. Park said

"I'll tell that auntie, do take care of yourself." I said, we're done talking and it's time for me to go home.

"Yes dear, I will." she replied

"Bye auntie, see you again" and I hugged her one more time.

"Mom, make sure to lock the door. I'll take Camille home and go directly to the hospital." Heal said to her

"Okay, take care both of you" after that we already left. On our way, I receive a message that my dad is already home from an overseas meeting.

"I think you can just drop me here, I'll be riding a taxi on my way home." I say to him

"Why? I can take you home." he said

"Maybe you'll be late for work. I'll be fine so don't worry" I just don't want him to meet my father yet.

"No, I insist. I'm taking you home, I don't have any urgent patients so it's okay" he just continues to drive until we reach my house. He gets out and opens the door for me.

"Thank you," I said

"Camille Kim!"

"Dad!" I didn't expect him to see him outside the house

"Where did you go and who is this guy?" and he looks at Heal

"I'm Healer sir, it's been a long time" and Heal smiles at him. My dad anger suddenly fade away

"Heal is that really you?" he looked shocked "I didn't recognize you, I guess I'm too busy" then he smiles

"It's okay sir, anyway how are you and auntie?" he asked

"We're doing fine, I just got home from an overseas meeting. Anyway, let's go inside since you're already here." my dad said

"Dad, he needs to go back to the hospital." I said

"Sorry sir, but I'll just visit you tomorrow. You also need to rest from your travels." Heal said

"Sure go ahead, see you tomorrow then."

"You should go" I said to him and push him into the car

"Goodbye sir." he said

"Are you two dating?" he asked when Heal leaves

"Dad, you heard him, you need to rest. Let's talk tomorrow" my dad knows that we are dating but he must forgot about it because of his busy schedule.

"Fine, let's go inside, you also need to take some rest" then we head inside. It was a tiring day, I need to prepare early tomorrow.

-Knock..knock-

Ugh! Why is it so noisy, I still want to sleep?

"Camille! Open the door'' Wait? Is someone calling me? "Are you still sleeping?" Ugh..That’s it I wake up and open the door

"Why are you so noisy? I'm still sleeping “I said still half asleep

"Good Morning" this voice, I open my eyes and saw him

"What are you doing here?" I asked shockingly

"Visiting I guess?" he answered

"This early?" I know he'll be here but not this early

"It's already 1 pm, didn't you check your time" then he smile playfully

"Did you sleep late? You look so tired darling" my mom asked me, she's with him.

"No mom, give me a minute I'll just change" I close the door and run to the bathroom. That was embarrassing, I didn't wash and brush my teeth yet! Ugh! Camille, why did you sleep too much?

When I'm already done I hurriedly went downstairs and saw them in the living room joyfully talking. Though I don't see her mom with him, I thought they'll come together.

"Camille, what are you standing there, come and join us." my dad said, I walk and sit beside Healer

"What are you talking about?" I asked

"Nothing special" Heal answered

"Anyway, where is your mom?" it's my chance to ask him

"About that, there was an emergency at her work so she can't come with me" he replied

"That's sad, I'm really looking forward to meeting her." My dad said. They haven't met yet since my dad was always outside the country and his mom was busy at work.

"Don't worry sir, we'll be visiting again on her day off" Heal said reassuring him

"Okay, so what are you going to say since my daughter is already here," my dad asked

"I don’t know if this is the right time to say this but sir I really love your daughter. She means the whole world to me and if you approve we’re planning to get married next year." I answered directly

"Finally, I thought you're going to remain friends forever." my mom said in relief

"I'm happy with the news but why does it has to be next year? I mean we're already old Heal and we don't know what will happen so I want to see my daughter get married before I die" my dad said

"Dad please don't say that" he's already predicting the future

"He's right hon" my mom agreed

"I'm just saying that if you really love each other then we shouldn't keep this long. I'll arrange your engagement next week" he said

"But dad, is that necessary? We can do it by ourselves, you don't have to do it" I complain

"No, this is your wedding and I want it to be good" he insists

"I understand your concern sir if that's what you want we can just schedule the wedding next month. I'll inform my mom about this" heal said

"Thank you, son. You can call me dad since we'll be a family soon" this is not happening why it has to be moved next month.

"Dad, you can arrange the engagement but let us prepare our own wedding" I said to him

"Fine but if you need anything don't forget to call me." he agrees

"Yeah sure" this is settled then. I guess we need to prepare and it will not be that easy, there's a lot of things to do.

After the discussion, Heal and I went to the hospital. We still need to work for our wedding and our future. We're not the type of person who depends on others.

"I think this is it," he said while we're in the car

"Yeah" I agree and smile at him
