“Mom, Did you see my necktie?” I asked her while she was cooking in the kitchen.

“No, try checking the boxes. I haven’t finished fixing all of your stuff yet,” she responded. Well, I just moved to a new house and asked her to help me, since we just have each other.

“Don’t worry, I’ll just fix it when I end my shift at the hospital later,” I say, smiling at her.

“Thank you, son,” she said, “come on, let’s eat.” I take a seat and begin digging into my food; I have to be at the hospital early today; Dr Zie has informed me to be there on time.

“What would you like to eat for dinner?” I asked. She’ll be staying with me for a while before going back home.

“Anything would do,” she said.

“Mom, there was no such thing as ‘anything,’ you have to be precise,” she suddenly laughs. “Don’t laugh. You often tell me that when I respond to you like that,” I say, smiling.

“I agree, which is why it’s fun to hear it from you. Anyway, I’ll just call you when I’ve decided what I want to eat,” she replied.

“Sure, and one more thing,” I look at her, “don’t go home too late mom, it’s unsafe outside, you must be careful.”

“Sure, son,” she said after breakfast. I embraced her and prepared to leave for work.

My name is Healer, and I am a general surgeon at Sue hospital. Working daily with a patient was exhausting, but I usually enjoyed every moment we spent there because saving lives is more important.

“Good morning, Dr. Park, you’re up early this morning.”

“Good morning, Ms Qui,” I say, smiling. “Did you change your shift?” As far as I know, she works at night shift.

“No, my partner swapped shifts with me,” she replied.

“That’s great. Finally, we’ll be working together,” I say as we both walk inside, laughing.

Camille has been my closest friend since high school and my soon-to-be wife. We have dated for more than 10 years now and planning to get married next year.

“Hi, Dr. Zie!” I’m surprised to see him coming out from nowhere.
“Hello, Dr. Park, please see me at my office now,” he says as he calmly walks to his office.
“You must go, I’ll see you later,” Camille advised.
“Yeah, see you,” I say as I follow him into the room, I tap and open the door.
“Good morning, doctor,” I said.
“Oh, you’re already here; please take a seat,” he said.
“Did I mess it up, doc?” I asked. I’m feeling anxious right now.

“What are you talking about? No, you’re thinking too hard, Dr. Park, relax,” he says as he hands me a cup of coffee. “I called you here because I wanted to tell you that you’ll be performing a surgery to a VIP client.”

“Is that true? Did I hear it right?” It’s difficult for me to assume. I’ve been working on it for about 5 years.

“Yes, you’re great, Dr. Park. I believe in you,” when I heard him say that, I was pleased. Finally, I’ll be doing my first VIP surgical procedure; my mother will be delighted.

“Thank you so much, sir,” I said happily.

“You deserved it,” he said. Dr Zie, who’s been my mentor since I was a medical student and intern, and until now. He supports me in the process, and it is now all rewarding.

“Your feedback helped me a lot, sir, and I’m very grateful,” I told him.

“I just did the chatting, but you did all the job, so be proud of yourself,” he says as he pats me on the back. “By the way, get ready. Here are your patient’s details,” he says as he hands me the folders. There’s no looking back right now; I’m about to do it.

I’m worried right now; what if she’s with him? My hands are trembling, and I can’t even calm down.

“So, what’s the plan? Did he respond?” Faith asked as I attempted to reach my boyfriend.

“No, but I think I know where he is,” I replied. “He told me last night that he was going to play basketball with his friends.”

“Where?” she questioned.

“Follow me,” I said as I walked out of the room.

“Are you certain about this? What if we were mistaken? And you’re just paranoid, that’s why you’re saying this stuff “When did she start being so chatty?

“Faith, breathe, you’re more tense than I am,” she has to ease a little. I’m not going to be mean anyway.

“This won’t do; I’m calling Micah and Venice,” she said.

“Hey, don’t interrupt them, they’re at work,” I say, stopping her.

They’re probably on the court right now. Micah is an attorney, and Venice is a prosecutor, so they are both at battle in court, but when we’re together, our relationship shines through. We may take a different direction, but we will still find time to meet and reconnect.

“Okay, great,” she replied, “please promise me you won’t do anything.”

“Yes, ma’am,” I responded with a smile. When we arrived, I got out of the car right away.

“Zoe, wait for me,” she says as she runs to me and grabs my hand tightly.

“Oh, come on,” she shouldn’t do that.

“Just to be sure,” she says, smiling sweetly.

“Whatever,” I say, shaking my head. She’s incredible. We’re on our way inside when she grabs my arm.

“What is the matter?” I asked.

“You have to see this,” she said as she noticed someone, and then I slowly turned my head to see them. Who’s the suspicious one now? I get closer to them.

“So, what exactly is this?” I asked.

“Zoe!” I can see from their reactions that they are both surprised to see me.

“Hi Elise, good to see you,” I read with a strong touch of sarcasm.

“Hello...Z-zoe,” her voice stammered; I’m sure she was anxious.

“It’s not what you think. I was about to leave when I happened to run into her “Luxe clarifies.

“Is that true? What is it that she is clutching to you for?” I said with a smile. He slowly removes her hands.

“She’s dizzy, which is why I’m supporting her,” he says. Well, I’m already tired of hearing his lies!

“Luxe I was not born yesterday! Do you think I didn’t notice? When are you going to stop pretending in front of me?” I look into his eyes and say, “I’m tired, let’s finish this,” then I turn around, trying not to cry.

“I believe we should give each other some space. This isn’t the right time for us yet, so you should let me go “and I remove his hands from his embrace

“Stop that right now! Luxe, our friend is no longer interested in hearing your explanation. Simply return to Elise “Micah says. I’m not sure when they arrived, but I’m glad they’re here.

“Zoe, let’s go,” Venice said as she walked me to the car. Faith and Micah come after us.

“What exactly are you doing here?” I asked them as we were heading into the car.

“I’m sorry, I texted them to come,” Faith explained.

“Aw, it’s okay,” I said with a smile.

“So, what are your plans? You can sue them if you want, just let us know “Micah said

“There’s no need for that. I’ll be f-fine, I promise” My tears begin to fall. I’ve been holding it for too long and can’t bear it any longer.

“Shhh, we’re just here to help you. You were allowed to cry for as long as you want “Venice said, and they hugged me, trying to comfort me in the best way they could.

“T-thanks..sob..guys..sob..” That is why I adore them.

“And CUT!” the director said. “You guys went off the script but it turns out well. Thank you Miss Zoe for appearing to our movie I really appreciate your time.” He said to me 

“No problem, if you’ll excuse me I have to go.” I said

“Good luck on preparing your show, we will see you there.” Venice said to me

“Okay.” And leave

When I was about to get in my car, someone held my hand, so I turned around and saw him, “Luxe” I uttered.

“Thank you for coming today, I really appreciate it.” He said

“Yeah, of course.” I said and smiled at him. “By the way, I have to go.” I continued and got in the car.

It has been two long years, and my life was going great. I miss all the people at TSA. I always maintained contact with my team, and I still update each other.
