KATH

I opened the gate and we were about to go inside the front door, as we saw the chaos inside through the window. They make so much noise that it seems like they were some kind of tribe and they throw and splash clothes, toys, papers, and water guns inside the house.

"Oh, Kath?" I turned to Ken as he calls me, "I forgot that I have to go home at nine. I still have work to do."

"Is that so? Okay, go ahead," I faked a smile because I knew the same thing would happen. He is no different from my former lovers and as usual, they hated my siblings.

A MONTH LATER

"Hurry up! You're all going to be late! Hello? The school is far from here!"

It was still early but I could already hear mommy's voice from below. Today is our first day of school and it is my third year of college this year.

Camille is going to school the same as mine because there is also a senior high at our school which I attend, and she's in her 12th grade. It will be her last year in high school.

Nicole, Jeremy, and Sandra are going to Agusan National High School since they are in their Junior year, while Rafael will be in Butuan Central Elementary School as he is only in 2nd grade.

"HEY! HURRY UP!"

"Yes! We're coming, mom!" I immediately left and locked my room and immediately went inside the room of my siblings and I saw that they were ready, "Come on and we'll be late. Camille, hurry up because the buses here to downtown are scheduled. We can't miss that."

They accompanied me on the descent and there I saw our mom preparing the table for breakfast and we ate together.

After eating, we have our lunchboxes because we can't afford the price and we all save. money for all of us

We got our things and also mom is ready to leave for work, "Kath, Camille, you take care. The school of those two is out of the way. The twins, Sandra, and Raffy will be with me," mom said and I nodded.

"Okay, mom. Camille and I can manage."

Mom hugged us and we decided to go to the other of the road while waiting for a bus. After a few minutes, a green bus came out so Camille and I immediately went inside.

We sat down and I just looked over the window as I noticed that we had arrived as well. The two of us got off the bus and Camille was about to leave when I called to her, "Cams!"

"Yeah, sis?"

"Do you belong to the school here? As far as I know, this school has two branches."

She got her phone out of her bag and read the announcements in their group chat, "I don't think so, because I'm from a private school last 11th grade. This school here came from the government or DepEd."

I nodded, "Okay. I'll take you on the bus that goes there first. After that, just stop at the public market in Libertad, and take another motorized sidecar to go to where the school is."

"Okay," she just simply replied. She was busy clicking on his phone and I also noticed a bus going to Libertad, Butuan so I immediately let Camille go inside so she could board as well.

When the bus Camille was on left, I turned around without realizing that someone was behind me so I collided and stepped on his shoes.

"Can you stop following and stepping on ..." when he looked at me he was stunned? Yes, I'm really beautiful and guys can be mesmerized by my looks.

I immediately bowed and apologized, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to step onto you."

"A-ahh. It's okay. I'm sorry and I thought you stepped on it on purpose. That's how girls are here at school, attention seeker," he said and looked at the uniform I was wearing, "You must be a student here too, I'm Daniel Elizalde."

I look at his hands trying to be nice so I gladly accepted it, "I am Kathryn Silvenia but you can call me Kath. I am a new student here. Can you help me try to find this section and building?"

"Sure," he said and looks at my paper, "Looks like we have the same schedule and classes. Come on, we'll go inside the campus."

I realized we were still outside the school so I went with him inside the school, "Oh, what I meant is we're classmates from section A-31. Let's go and go to our class and I'll tour you here later. "

"Really? Thank you! It's so nice of you, Daniel," I happily said and accompanied him inside.

Daniel and I entered the C.B. or what they called College Building - Main Grounds of the school.

I found the school so cool and I also saw a lot of people here. I can see by looking at their faces and clothing that they are very rich.

Our schools in Cebu used to be good, but I don't get along with people or friends at school. Other students have a circle of friends and are very snobbish.

Unlike here, it is obvious that they are rich but still socialize with everyone.

For me, my family is not that rich. We are also a simple family but om can afford all of the expenses, especially since I'm in college and Camille will be in college next year, too.

As Daniel and I walked I was a bit taken aback because I felt like all the human eyes were focused in the direction of the two of us. What is happening?

While we're walking, I can sense the people staring at a certain thing and I do know that they are staring at both of us. I also notice that some gorgeous and sexy cheerleaders gave me a deathly stare.

I didn't feel comfortable about it so I turned to Daniel to ask, "Hey, can I ask you a question? Why are the people here staring at us? Especially, those women are like mad at me or something," I asked Daniel but the only thing he could answer me was that I would get used to it, especially when I will be with him.

I was really confused about what he meant but I also immediately understood when I saw a tarpaulin that they were part of the basketball team and seems like he is also a model at this school.

"You're a basketball player and quite famous."

He scratched his neck, "Oh, yeah. Even though I'm in college I'm still involved and I'm the Team Captain."

I nodded at what was said. He is famous in this school because apart from being a handsome basketball player, he is the Team Captain, too!

"That's why the women looked so mean and it seems they will torture me. Maybe your fans will suddenly rush me, especially your girlfriend."

"I don't have a girlfriend and I've never had a girlfriend."

I turned to him and I was so impressed. I didn't think that he has no girlfriend since birth, "Why don't you have one? Don't you like some girls here? Or maybe you had a crush?"

"Nah, I have never been crushing into a girl or guy." 

"Well, what do you find or like about girls?"

"You mean my type of a girl? I'll go with a simple and decent woman and the one who isn't that showy. I love a girl being humble, alert, and an understanding woman. I also don't like the woman who is even taller than me," he said.

"You don't want a taller girl? Why is that so? Did you have a bad experience about it?" he laughed at my question but also told the story right away.

"Yeah, I do have. There was a woman who liked me back then. Of course, even women of this generation are so flirtatious. She invited me on a date, just the two of us," he said, "I'm scared because it's not a woman's job to do such things. I'm even more scared because I can't even reach her, she's tall. I think I'm just about her should! I've never seen that kind of woman so tall!"

"I am too and now, I don't know where she is. Maybe her height was about 6'2 feet while I'm only about 5'11," he looked at me, "How about you?"

"I'm only 5'4. You're so tall," I replied but he just shook his head.

"That's not it. I mean, what kind of a guy do you like?"

"Oh, I'm sorry," I apologized and thought, "Hmm, for me I'm into a guy who is gentleman, and more important to me is the one who accepts my family."

I remember my former suitors who never accept my siblings, which they are my only family.

"Accept your family? Maybe it's not hard to do that," he said.

I feel like my cheeks are heated up as of now. I don't know but I feel like he likes me but let's not assume into things.

We just met but I also watched a movie that love, at first sight, is possible. A man fell in love with a girl the moment he met her. 

I looked at him, "It doesn't mean my whole family. Let's just say I have five siblings. I always put it in my head that they are the sweetest things God gave me but sometimes they may be my worst nightmare."

When I said that, he just laughed, "You know, I wish I could get to know your siblings. I'm all alone and the only child so sometimes I get jealous of people who have siblings. They have a playmate and maybe we can get along with your siblings."

"Oh, just be careful of them. They're allergic to boys."

"Of course, I won't lose that caution!"

I was about to say something more when someone called his name, "DANIEL!"

A man suddenly approached and hugged him tightly. His skin is s brown and his hair is a bit thick that he doesn't seem to have any plans to get a haircut and it looks like his best friend but I just don't know who he is, "Your very early today. What got into you, dude? You're not that early bird because you're probably going to eat breakfast or have a coffee ... Wait, have you eaten yet?"

"Your so talkative, Rick! It's embarrassing for the transferee here. Introduce yourself first," Daniel scolded his friend and he pulled me, "She is Kathryn Silvenia and she is our classmate in all subjects. She's just new here at school so she doesn't have any friends yet."

"Oh, hello! I'm Frederick San Juan! But, please just call me Rick," he shook my hand. I felt it was funny and there was no problem with life.

"I've been looking for you everywhere et you guys are just right here. Oh! We have a new friend," a brunette woman with curly hair also appeared, "Hi! I'm Jessiah and I'm Rick's only girlfriend. Just call me Jess because I don't like my full name."

I smiled at her, "I'm Kathryn Silvenia, even if you just call me Kath. Nice to meet you, by the way."

Then, a gorgeous girl appeared right in front of us. It was obvious to her that she is rich because of his appearance and dress. Also, she's holding an iPhone and it's the latest, "I've been around the whole place, you're all here."

"Our princess is here!" Rick shouted and he even bowed like this woman is a real princess.

"Stop it, Rick! You're annoying," the woman said annoyed and she turned to me before smiling, "We have a new friend here. Hey, I'm Princess. It's nice meeting you."

I smiled and introduced myself to her. There are also a lot of them in the group but it's really fun and very fun and kind.
