The secretary knocks on the door.

“Sir, a call from the hospital. The patient is awake.”

Seth’s hand froze from turning the files.

He looks at the secretary who looks down unable to look directly at him.

“Give it to me.”

He said.

The secretary walks to him and gave her phone then she steps aside not to intrude but also to easily be able to attend to the boss.

“Is she awake?”

He waited and hear a repetitive stuttering voice.

“What did she say?”

Another wasted seconds.

“Then did you gave her water?”

Seth frowns.

“She asked foe water and the first thing you do is call me? Am I going to come there and bring the water?”

HE paused again.

“There’s water in the fridge but don’ give it to her. There are not cold water in the cupboard.”

HE waited.

“What did the doctor said?Are you kidding me right now?”

He pressed the end button and looks at his secretary who doesn’t have any facial expression as if she doesn’t hear his conversation.

“Call the doctor.”

He said and put the cellphone down.

The secretary picked it up immediately and dial another number. Then she step aside to give some space between them.

“Seth Vastian.”

Seth Vastian said with a deep tone.

The secretary shivers but pretend she is still calm.

“Your patient is awake but you are still unaware of it? Should I closed your hospital for you to understand what I am capable of doing?”

There is a long paused.

“You go there before I got even more pissed.” He said and pressed the end button.

The secretary takes the phone in the desk and wait for instructions.

But after a while there is nothing so she thinks of turning around but Seth looks up.

She freezes and stay where she was.

“Send some fruits and flowers.”

He said.

“Yes Sir.” She said and turns around.

Seth taps his finger on the desk.

The pet is awake.

Jessica was taken care of like she is a person made out of glass.

She hasn’t ask it yet and the nurse gave it to her.

She feels so comfortable but also restless.

She still hasn’t heard Seth’s decision.

What if he still refused to take her in?

If so…This all doesn’t matter.

She will still be captured once Seth stop sheltering her and she will gone through more miserable life than her past life.

“Ma’am, Sir Vastian send another basket of flowers today too.” The nurse happily said.

It’s been a week but she hasn’t seen Seth for the past few days.

He never come even once.

She fears that he is just being a good Samaritan and still leave her after she became better.

She wants to call him but they all refuse saying she can’t call without his permission.

“The doctor said you are already okay. Maybe you will be discharge tomorrow.”

Jessica paled.

“And Seth? He hasn’t contact yet? What is his arrangement?”

The nurse shakes her head.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know.”

Jessica takes a deep breath.

Run.

She thinks of running away.

But where to?

She doesn’t have much money in her name.

And the organization that wants to capture her is not a small scale syndicate.

She will be captured the moment she steps out of this hospital.

The nurse looks at her with pity.

It seems this person has so many things going through her mind.

There’s no longer an IV in her hand.

A guard opens the door and Seth walks inside.

The nurse saw him and she bows not meeting his eyes.

Though he is a handsome man. He is scary and he is not human in the eyes of people.

They rather makes sure not to trigger this person.

Jessica looks up and see Seth.

“Seth!”

She jumps out of the bed and hurriedly hugs him.

“Seth! Seth!”

“Calm down.”

Seth touches her head. And not knowing what to do with her.

Once again, he looks at his guards.

“How incompetent are you all?” he asks.

This woman is so weak and tiny but she has crushed on him twice now.

The guards move to remove Jessica who is clinging tightly at Seth’s body but Seth slaps the guards hand.

“Get out. All of you.” He said and they all leave without a second thought.

Now it is only Seth and Jessica.

“Miss Jessica, calm down and let me go for a second.”

“No!”

Jessica said still gripping on him tightly.

“Don’t send me away! I will be loyal. I can bark. Arf! I can meow! Nya! Don’t send me away. I promise to be loyal.”

Seth lips twitch.

“I will take you then.”

Jessica looks up with a startled expression.

“Do you mean it? Is it true?”

Seth looks at Jessica.

‘This is ridiculous.’ Even he thinks so too.

But he thinks that the moment he says no, this woman will not hesitate to jump in the window.

If she does that, he won’t be able to do anything to save her.

He sighs.

‘Why should I save her?’

But he slowly nods.

“Yes. I will tale you in as a pet.”

Jessica starts crying.

“I am so scared you will not take me in. I am ready to jump in the window if you say you won’t.” She said sobbing.

“Let go of me.” He said coldly.

But the girl shakes her head.

And keeps hugging him.

“Aren’t you a loyal pet? Why are you not listening to me?”

Seth feels his nerves are pulsing due to this woman.

“Nyaaa~”

She refused to talk.

A cat doesn’t talk.

“Listen to me when I am talking.” Seth said.

“Nyaa, nyaa…,” she said rubbing her head to his stomach.

Seth pursed his lips.

“So you are a cat huh. Cat doesn’t talk…is that what you want to say?” Seth glares at her.

“Nyaa~” She nods refused to listen to Seth.

She is still trembling and scared.

She won’t let Seth go.

She is so stressed she fell asleep still strongly clinging to Seth.

“What a troublesome cat person.”

Seth smiles but nobody is around to witness the rarest phenomenon.
