Tak tak tak

The room is well lit and spacious but there is nobody inside but Seth, working in his computer.

After a while he looks at his cellphone.

It’s unusual for him to be distracted with a phone but yesterday there are couple of sudden calls for him.

So today he expected the same trouble.

He takes the phone and tap on it. There are no mail or call.

He puts it down but the cellphone made an alert sound.

He smiles and open the mail.

Seeing it was from the butler disappoint him a bit.

He puts the cellphone down and continue working.

Jessica wakes up and rubs her eyes.

She fell asleep after playing with her new laptop.

It is so fun to use.

She has a customer who let her use his laptop once but it was only for games.

Still, when the Boss find out, the customer was banned and the laptop was confiscated.

She doesn’t even want to use it to call for help.

She knows that the boss have backer in the police station.

She already seen women like her ends up dying in a more horrible death after they tried to call for help.

She never had a laptop or a computer. She used a rental one but never owned them.

She is poor and cellphone is more than she needs.

It is already 2pm.

Her stomach is growling.

She went downstairs but seeing unfamiliar faces and strict looking maids she doesn’t dare to ask for food.

She wants to find the butler but she can’t find him.

She went to the kitchen sneaking like a real cat.

She doesn’t work here. She is not Seth’s relative.

She is not his girlfriend.

She lives a prostitute life but it is not by choice.

She still knows how to get insecure.

“What are you doing?”

Jessica let go of the glass pitcher in shock.

The glass breaks into pieces flying here and there.

“Ahhhh!” the Maid shouted in fear.

Their uniform required them to wear white pantyhose stocking and it is now cut and her legs are bleeding. It look more terrible due to the white stocking.

Jessica saw it and she trembles.

She almost fell down in fear.

There are random memories about her in pool of blood.

Being hit and punch.

“I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. I’m sorry.” She repeatedly said as she duck in the floor.

Her feet are bleeding and her legs and knee also have some cuts.

Lots of maids and servants rush to the kitchen and find out what happened.

The butler frowns.

“What are you all doing standing around? Help carry the two injured!”

They all try getting near the trembling Jessica but she panics.

“Don’t hit me. Don’t hit me! I’m sorry! I’m sorry. I won’t do it again.”

“Sir….” The servants look at the butler.

The butler frowns.

Jessica is crushing the broken glass on her feet and it looks painful.

“I am in a meeting. Call me late---” Seth stood up.

Everyone stares at him.

It was a strange angry expression.

When he walks out the door without explanation they all look at each other.

“Wha….How are we going to continue?” the team leader doing a demonstration looks at the manager.

The manager sighs.

“Let’s ask the boss secretary.”

When Seth return to the house early.

It’s just the second day and his pet is already showing her demerits.

After calming down, Jessica realized how awful she acted.

She even gave in in her fear and act like a complete lunatic.

She is ashamed of herself.

Though she apologized to the maid through the butler she refused to see her again.

No.

She will die in embarrassment.

She looks at the bandage in her two feet.

Her feet are in pain. She can’t walk like this.

She hates herself for being so useless.

Tears slowly fell her eyes after blaming herself for nth time.

The door opens

Seth and Jessica stares at each other.

Seth frowns seeing Jessica’s crying face.

He closes the door and sit next to her.

Wiping her tears.

Jessica holds Seth’s hand.

“Seth…..I am sorry.”

“Are you stupid? Why did you step on those broken glass? Do you think your cuts are not enough so you add some more?”

Jessica shakes her head.

“I am scared….I’m sorry.”

“What are you afraid of? This is my house. The moment I take you in, you belong to me. In this house, except from me, nobody has any right to harm you.”

Seth said and wipes her cheek with his thumb.

“Stupid.”

“Nyah!” Jessica hugs Seth.

This is the warmth that she wanted to experience all her past life.

Seth is the only person she needs.

“Seth…..”

Seth rubs her hair.

“Does it hurt?”

Jessica’s heart is warm.

“It hurts.” She said happily lying her head on Seth’s chest.

Seth ruffles her hair.

“Next time I will make sure you will get punish if you ever do that again.”

He said angrily.

Jessica just hum.

Seth stares at the woman sleeping in his room.

He didn’t even questioned why they bring her here instead of her room.

It must be this woman who begs them.

He doesn’t mind but it just feel awkward to easily allow someone in his bedroom like this.

HE sighs and calls his secretary.

Leaving without giving further instruction, it’s not like his usual self.

He just remember calling his driver and leaving early.

All his mind is what the butler said about what happened to Jessica.

It was a strange feeling of being in pain just by thinking of the other person’s injury.

He lightly trace the white bandage on her feet.

He is so distressed he can’t help but frown.

‘I didn’t know that having a pet is this terrible…….’

He puts the cellphone down and lay down the bed next to Jessica.
