CHAPTER 6

KAELYNN's POV

I called sir Darren, but he seemed to be having second thoughts of stepping out of his room.

"Come on sir Darren. We need to go now since there’s no one around yet" he doesn't want to get out but he keeps on peeking outside so I decided to just carry him and sneak our way to the backdoor where the path to the sea is located.

It’s still 3 pm so the sun is still up but it doesn't hurt the skin that much. Once we were out in the backyard already, he’s too happy to finally step into the grassy area of their backyard, he suddenly runs to the forest part of this area so I ran after him.

"Sir Darenn don’t get too far from here," I said to him. Honestly speaking, I’m a bit nervous of what I’m doing right now since Mila told me that no matter what, don’t let the sun touches their skin, I don’t know why but it looks like sir Darren’s fine besides in case that he has a skin disease, I applied some sunblock to him and he’s also wearing a long-sleeve shirt.

Once again, he ran to the grassy area while laughing, he even rolled in the ground for some time already, you can clearly see the happiness in his face and I don’t know but I feel so happy for him to the point that I’m already in tears here, tears of joy, because he looks like a bird in a birdcage whose finally set free.

"Look! Look! Luno! Green! Plowels and trees!" he said to me while pointing on the flowers and trees. I carried him and we picked some flowers. It’s all white roses here. Unlike in the front yard, that's all red roses.

"Come! Let’s go to the seashore, it’s much prettier there" He nodded then hugged me tighter.

Hoho I already got your trust! We’re friends now! Yey!

From here, we can already see the sea so I ran towards there while carrying sir Darren and when we got there, I remove our shoes and put him down on the sand.

"Waaah Luno! It's eating my pet!" I laughed at him. I carried him near the sea where the waves could reach his little feet.

"There we go. Now the sand will not eat your feet anymore" I said to him but he’s just looking on his feet soaked in the waves.

His skin was so white that’s why I could clearly see his feet under the water. I decided to sit down on the dry part of the sand and just watched him from here.

He looked at me and I was shocked when I saw him crying so I hurriedly went to his side.

"Why? Does it hurt? Where? Tell me sir Darren" I said with a worried tone. He shook his head as a no then hug me, tight. My skirt got wet already since I knelt down in front of him but it’s fine, at least I know that he’s crying because of joy.

I held his cheeks "Hush now, look at the sea, isn't it beautiful?" he nodded at me then kiss me on my cheek.

"Thank you, Luno," he said and ran around the seashore while looking at his footprints.

Awww he kissed me. I think I’m going to melt now. He’s really the cutest kid. Now I can endure whatever punishment they’ll give me later as long as I have seen sir Darren so happy, then I’m fine with it.

We walked around the seashore and collected some shells. I used the hem of my skirt as a container for our shells, and when we got back from to the mansion, I let go of my skirt’s hem which causes the shells to scatter on the ground.

"Explain yourself Kaelynn" I gulped out of fear and took a step back. Their stares made me so nervous. I felt sir Darren’s hands on my skirt and hid behind me.

I held his hand but I was taken aback when the twins took him from me and carried him. They both throw deadly glares at me and is it because of the sunset or their eyes are glowing red?

"Didn't we tell you to never take Darren outside?" Sir Daryl asked me. It looked like he just got home from work and got confused about why me.

"Are you alright Darenn? Nothing hurts?" the twins checked every part of sir Darren’s body then Damrious approached me with a furious look.

"You! You got the nerve to break our law! Come here and I’ll teach you a lesson!" he grabbed my wrist and pulled me inside the mansion but I didn't let myself get belittle again and pulled my hand back.

"Sir wait, I can explain. I have no intention of putting sir Darren’s life in danger, he wants to go out! Can’t you see his happy!” I looked at each of the siblings and to Mila but she just looked away, so I looked at sir Daryl again and he’s just looking at me with no emotions at all.

"What do you think you’ll gain from disobeying our rules?" sir Daryl asked me. I just lowered down my head.

But earlier, sir Darren’s too happy and now, they’re just making him cry. Do they really want this kid to grow up without trusting anybody especially that he has never been able to get out of the mansion and have fun? Are they just going to imprison their brother here?

I closed my fist because of too much anger. I faced them and look at each one of them. I made up my mind. I’m going to raise sir Darren to be a respectable and great man, unlike these brothers of him.

"I’m going to accept any punishments you’ll give me but promise me that you’ll allow me and sir Darren to get out of the mansion, even if it’s just here on the backyard," I said. I’m also on the verge of crying but I’m trying my best not to.

Slowly but surely, my bravery is starting to fade because of these people. I totally had no idea that the work here is going to be this hard.

I was shocked when Danrious grabbed my hand again and drag me inside the mansion.

"You heard him, Daryl. She made her choice" he said and Daniel walked with us with a disagreeing look.

"Okay. Wait for me in her room" sir Daryl said and then they locked me in my room. After a while, the twins came in.

"Awww I thought you're going to last longer Kaelynn. I still don’t want to say goodbye" Sir Daniel said then hug me.

Danrious also hugged me then pushed me down to the bed, is this going to be my punishment? I thought they’ll just lock me here or they won’t feed me for a day or two. Don’t tell me they’re going to take my virginity!

"Let’s do it together Rious" Daniel said then their eyes suddenly change. I was shocked when the color of their eyes change, from a light color of red to a bloody colored one.

"Sssh just keep quiet okay? This won’t take long" Danrious said then lowered his head to my neck. I was about to shout when he covered my mouth.

I felt Daniel lick my thigh then he looked at me with a smirk.

"It tastes like the ocean," he said then I almost passed out when I saw his fangs pierce through my skin.

I couldn't move. There’s a spell cast on me so that I will not be able to protest from them. In my mind, I wanted to shout and stop them but my body won’t move. It looked like they both wanted to suck all of my blood out of me.

"You started already?" My eyes looked at whose on the door and found sir Daryl approaching me.

I wanted to ask for help but I couldn't. Danrious removed his hand from my mouth.

"Help" that’s the only word that I was able to say but he just fixed his glasses and took my hand.

"Don’t worry, you’re not going to end up like them," sir Daryl said. I didn’t know what he meant by that but I was terrified of them now.

He kissed my wrist then without any warning, he sank his fangs on it. I winced at the pain but I don’t have any strength left to struggle. They’re not humans, they’re vampires whose parched of blood.

A drop of tear ran down from my eye. I looked up and saw the plain ceiling. I closed my eyes.

What did I enter? They’re not normal Kaelynn. How are you going to escape them and this hellish place? I just cried myself out since this is the only thing that I can do in this situation.

I felt a hand wiping my tears and when I open my eyes I saw Danrious staring at me just like his usual look, the bored and uninterested one.

He leans his face closer to mine and kissed me, it was just a quick kiss but I felt something strange from that kiss, that it has a lot of meaning into it and I just don’t know those yet. Pity? Love? Nah. That’s impossible.

"Your kiss tastes good but it looks like your blood tastes better,” he said then plunged his fangs on my neck, I gasped because of pain but my body did nothing to struggle. Is this the kind of sensation they have?

Three monsters are sucking my blood now and I can’t do anything but to look up to the ceiling and cry.

Is this where I’m going to die? Will, I am not able to visit the people from the orphanage anymore? How about Red, will I not be able to see him again? Is there really no hope for me to find my real parents? Am I going to die this way? No! I don’t want this! I don’t want to die in their hands!

I’m getting dizzy and I feel like I’m almost out of the blood. I opened my eyes again and look at the monster beside me, he’s just looking at me just like what he’s always doing, but his eyes are not red, unlike his twin. My head’s spinning already until everything went black

But before I totally lost my consciousness, I heard him say.

"This is not the end Runo, I’ll make it last longer before I make you one of those life-less maids" I don’t know what he means by that but whatever that is, I’m sure it’s not a good idea.

I closed my eyes and let the darkness took me, I could not take it anymore and I got tired already.
