Chapter 5

YANNY

My forehead knotted because of the dizziness I’m feeling. What happened?

I slowly opened my eyes as I hold my head and a white ceiling welcomed me. Where am I? At the infirmary?

I quickly sat up when all of the memories started to got back on my mind making me shiver because of fear. The voice, the dead body of a man, the nail that almost killed me-

“ Miss Montemayor? What’s happening? Calm down, you’re perfectly fine. I’m here, inhale, exhale please calm down “ the nurse stated trying to calm me down.

Tears started to stream down on my face , I can’t open my mouth because I’m scared that if I tell anyone I’ll be dead in instant.

“ Stop crying Miss Montemayor, if you won’t calm down I’ll be forced to put you back to sleep “ the nurse said making me look at her seriously.

I immediately wiped my tears away even though it continuous dripping out, that’s right, if I keep quiet I wao not be hurt. If I keep quiet no one would hurt me, right?

“N-nurse can you leave me for a while? I just want to t-think, please?” I pleaded at her and she looked at me understandably .

As soon as the nurse closed the door, I cried loudly as I can as I do everything I can to stop my body from shaking.

“ Calm down, calm down “ I muttered again and again.

I don’t want to close my eyes or else I’ll be seeing a lot of scary things once more, I don’t want to sleep , I don’t want to remember things that will cause me pain. I don’t want to!

I bit my lower lip so hard until it bleed as I try my best to suppress the fear and nervousness I’m feeling. I’m still alive, they didn’t hurt me, I should distance myself from dangerous things like that , I should , I should be more careful.

MINA

The loud noise echoed throughout the room that’s created by the forceful slap of Prince Abcdef in my face.

I coughed because of pain and wiped the blood in my lips because of the impact. Here I am kneeling in front of him while he’s giving me the coldest glare that will make everyone shiver in fear.

“ I already told you to keep her away from this mess!” He shouted angrily and kicked the nearest vase from him creating a loud noise .

“ I-I’m Sorry Prince, I just did that to make sure that she won’t tell anyone, I was forced to do that in order to keep our family safe “ I answered as I bow until my head’s an inch away from the ground .

“ Fucking leave my sight! Don’t show yourself to me until I say so if you do I don’t guarantee your safety even though you’re my cousin , don’t test me Mina “ he stated seriously .

“ Thank you my Prince, I’ll do as what you say “ I stated respectfully and quickly leave the room, as soon as I closed the door I immediately spit blood on the floor.

I touched my jaw and caress it gently, that was painful , the Prince really is strong .

“ Clean up “ I ordered the maid and walked straightly towards the mansion’s door.

The Prince told me to come here at the middle of the night only to slap me on the face. He’s really mad at me and I should stay away from him for a while, I’m leaving the country.

“ Zach, I’m leaving Italy. Please hurry and be a substitute for me “ I stated through phone call towards my brother.

“ Seriously? That’s unusual for you to leave Abcdef’s side easily “ he stated and chuckled.

“ I made him mad, be here within a month or else I’ll kill you. I don’t want to leave either but this is the best choice, I sill don’t want to die” I rolled my eyes and hung up the call without waiting for his response.

I stare intently at the mansion as I hold the car’s door open.

That Yanny, she’s quite amusing and dangerous at the same time. The Prince should stop his growing interest towards that bitch.

YANNY

It’s been three days since that day and since then I’m living in fear. Every night I’ll dream about the man who got killed, the incident about the nail and the conversation that I heard.

“ Yanny you okay? This days you’re not eating right , you even lost some weight! What’s wrong?” Paris asked me as we both walk in the hallway.

“ Nothing, I’m just stressed out because of the upcoming event “ I lied at her .

“ Oh, that’s right, must been hard to be a Student Council officer huh? The event will be held within a month but you should not forget to take care of yourself “ she stated and look at me worriedly.

I smiled at her sincerely .

“ Don’t be worried about me “ I stated .

I frowned when I suddenly felt someone staring at me intently, I immediately look around to find if there’s someone who keeps on looking at me but no one seems to do that, I guess I’m just feeling things.

I gasped faintly when a familiar figure caught my attention instead, it’s Abcdef who’s busy reading a book. I immediately look away and secretly got mad at myself . I should stop caring about him since I’m just a nuisance in his life.

“ I want all of you to submit a-“ I can’t focus on my professor because the strange feeling of being watched by someone , it’s not creepy or scary as weird at it may seem but it’s somehow warm that makes me want to know badly who’s secretly watching me .

I stared out at the window only to find the peaceful grass field and trees that makes the university full of life . It’s calming and a refreshing sight to see.

My eyebrow knotted in curiosity when I saw leaves of one of the trees moving differently. What’s that? Did a cat climbed up there? I looked at it intently but someone suddenly called my surname making me look at the front.

“ Yes Professor?” I asked respectfully.

“ Please give some opinion about our topic” he stated and I smiled at him sincerely as I stand up straightly to answer.

It’s almost evening and I’m about to enter the dormitory when I saw Abcdef talking with Mrs Monrae. I immediately got worried about him when I remembered that Mrs Monrae is connected with that girl.

Abcdef turned his face towards my direction and I immediately looked away when he caught me staring at him. After a few seconds I simply look back at them and saw Mrs Monrae handing Abcdef a pile of boxes .

Is she asking him for help?

Mrs Monrae’s hands are shaking and she looks nervous, what is she planning to do? She then pointed out the dormitory and guided Abcdef towards the unoccupied rooms, the same spot where I saw the girl and the corpse.

My heart started to beat faster because of fear and worry for Abcdef ,is she going to hurt him? Without thinking properly I run towards their direction .

“ Mrs Monrae! Should I help both of you with this boxes?” I asked awkwardly feeling scared but determined to save Abcdef.

I may not have enough courage to tell anyone about what I found out but I won’t let another crime happen in this university, especially if it’s the people I treasure.

“ N-no Miss Montemayor, we can h-handle this “ Mrs Monrae desperately shake her head at me and pushed me slightly to go towards the elevator.

“ But I want to help Mrs Monrae, gave me some of that “ I’m also desperate to make sure that Abcdef will be safe and forcefully snatch some boxes from him.

It’s quite heavy but it’s alright, I won’t let Abcdef be alone with this woman.

Mrs Monrae looks like she’s not happy about me going in with them , that made my conclusion correct. Maybe she’s planning something and she’s shaking because her bosses are asking her to do it and she won’t be able to hurt someone if I’ll go with them. I hope this will be enough to ruin her plan , if not then I’ll do anything to protect Abcdef even if I’m risking my life and start being an annoyance to him.

“ We’re done, Abcdef you should go out now. It’s forbidden for guys to be inside the dormitory but since the work is now done, you should hurry go back to your dorm. Leave, “ I pushed him lightly until he’s already out of the building.

He looked at me weirdly but didn’t say a thing and started walking towards the dormitory. I stared at him until he’s finally inside and that’s when I finally got to sigh with relief.

I hope that Mrs Monrae won’t try any other move to hurt him tonight . I guess I need to really tell this to the officials but I still need to gather a more concrete evidence , I don’t want to put an innocent person in jail when in the first place they are being used against their will too.

Also, the mystery about the dead man who I saw that night, how come no one reported about him missing? It’s impossible that he’s not a student or an employee of the university because even visitors need to check in and check out for the records. Why is it so complicated?

What’s happening in this university? Why all of the sudden I found out all of this? What should I do?
