Chapter 1

YANNY

“ I’ll end your suffering now “ he whispered through my ear as he strangled my neck tightly.

“ P-please don’t , I just want to go h-home “ I cried loudly as I try to free my self from his hold.

I’m slowly losing my consciousness because of insufficient supply of oxygen, I can’t breath , it hurts .

I was about to plead one more time when he stabbed me in my waist earning a painful cry from me. It hurts, mommy it hurts!

Without other choice left I raised my hand and stabbed him with my knife hitting him in his shoulder.

“ fuck” he cursed loudly because of pain and then hit me forcefully on the neck.

My eyesight blurred because of the impact and time stop as I slowly fell down on the ground .

“ M-mommy, Daddy please, please I want to go home-“ I whispered with all of the strength that I have but I couldn’t finish my statement when he hit me once again and this time darkness finally consumed me.

“ Yanny! Wake up! It’s already seven in the morning! “ a loud high pitched voice awakened me from my deep slumber.

“ O-okay “ I answered weakly while my eyes are still closed.

Why she’s so loud early in the morning? I still want to sleep.

I feel like I dreamt something? It’s such a shame that I can’t remember it , oh well I don’t think that it’s a happy dream though, so no need to think about it anymore. I’ll just go back to sleep and dream another one.

“ Yanny! Just wake up already! Didn’t you tell me that you have a transfer student that you need to guide today? You can’t make the Head Master wait for you”

My eyes flew open because of her statement. I almost forgot about it! What to do ? It’s already late, I still need to take a bath, eat , read some of my notes and iron my clothes! I’m doomed!

I stared at my roommate with teary eyes while pouting my lips . I’m doomed, the Head Master’s gonna kill me, Lance will surely will get mad and the transfer student will think that I’m such an irresponsible brat!

“ Don’t look at me like that, this isn’t the time to cry Yanny, go and take a quick bath now so you’ll be able to-“

I didn’t let her finish her statement and run quickly towards the bathroom, opened the shower and soaked my whole body with water.

“ Oh my god! My pajamas!” I shouted when I realized that I’m still wearing clothes.

I’m running, running desperately to get there in time. My hair is still wet cause I don’t have much time to blow it dry, I badly need to be there or else I’ll make a bad impression to the Head Master.

“ I’m here! I’m badly sorry for being late please don’t take my scholarship away from me-“

“ Now, now, don’t be so loud Ms Montemayor, please sit down “ the Head Master cut me off and smiled at me.

Maybe God heard my prayers, looks like the Head Master is on a good mood today , that was a first. There’s only one thing that didn’t go according to my wishes, the transfer student is already here sitting comfortably not even taking a single glance at me.

That’s mean, he didn’t even tried to say hi or good morning .

“ So Ms Montemayor I’m really thankful that you agreed to my special request, Mr Ferrer here is a relative of the university’s owner , so I want you to take care of him okay?” The Head Master stated making me gasp because of shock.

I stared at the transfer student with “so that’s the reason he gets special treatment” look.

“ tsk “ he made a sound looking annoyed with my stares, he’s really mean!

“ By the way , Abcdef she’s Yanny Montemayor, she’ll be your guide for the next three days, and both of you can leave now so that you’ll be familiarize around the place“ the Head Master added ,

So this “Abcdef” quickly stand up and once more I gasp as I look at him intently.

He’s cute and short, I think I’m taller than him by one inch or two , he has eye glasses and he’s wearing oversized shirt and sweatpants while his hair is almost covering half of his face, that’s not right , we are inside the university so therefore he needs to dress up presentable. I must explain every single rule to him. Also, his green eyes is the one who made me gasp exaggeratedly , it’s so deep and mesmerizing though it looks weirdly familiar for me.

“ Let’s go?” I smiled gently at him .

He nodded at me and did the same with the Head Master.

“ We’ll be going Head Master, thank you for your time “ I stated and slightly bowed my head and hold Abcdef’s hand and drag him out of the room.

“ So introduce yourself “ I stated excitedly as I wait patiently for him to open his mouth and tell me everything about him, he’s just like those from the novels that I read! The nerdy protagonist that turns out to be a very hot guy and will end up being the center of attention throughout the place as soon as he starts having self esteem-

“ Just do your job and show me around “ he stated coldly making me pout because of irritation.

“ You’re mean “ I stated , openly letting him see that I’m disappointed about his bad behavior.

He just looked at me with displease and crossed his arms in his chest.

“ You should say sorry, “ I stated and cross my arms too.

He raised one of his eyebrows making me frown .

“ If you did something that displeases a person , whatever the reason may be, you still need to say sorry “ I explained and look at him seriously.

“ Then say sorry first “ he stated making me puzzled.

“ W-why would I? I didn’t do anything wrong “ I said as I try to recall if I ever did something to him.

“ You did something very bad, kitty but you don’t remember it, so as long as you can’t remember what you did to me then I won’t say sorry” he said leaving me dumbfounded and turned his back on me as he started to walk away.

W-what? But I didn’t do anything wrong!

I pouted my lips and bit my lower lip as I give him glares from the back.

He’s really mean, the meanest guy I ever met !

“ Wait for me Mr Ferrer!” I stated and quickly walk towards him.

“ That’s not the right direction! It leads towards the girl’s dormitory!” I said , slightly raising my voice for him to hear me.

I bursted out laughing when he suddenly stopped from his track and took a step back towards me.

“ Quit grinning “ he stated , irritation is evident in his voice and because of that I wasn’t able to erase the goofy smile on my face.

“ What could possibly can happen to you without me?” I teased him and bow down slightly to see his face.

I’m wearing a three inches heels today , that’s why I needed to bow down slightly to see his face. How can be a mean guy be this cute? Oh I want to pinch his cheeks!

He rolled his eyes at me and adjusted his eyeglasses earning another heart full laugh from me but I automatically stopped when my stomach growled loudly.

Abcdef looked at me with amusement in his eyes and I just smiled at him awkwardly.

“ Ahhm, do you want to see the cafeteria? I’ll show you to the cafeteria first “ I shyly suggested and dragged him towards the cafeteria’s direction.

I’m starving, what should I eat?

“ So are you somewhat half?” I asked as I chew my pizza.

He frowned at me and look at me with disgust.

“ don’t talk when your mouth is full” he stated seriously making me grin.

I nodded at him and quickly finished my food.

“ so once again I’ll ask you, are you half?” I asked after I drank my coke.

“ Yes, I’m half Japanese and half French but I was raised in California” he stated making me nod my head.

“ Oh that’s why you’re handsome “ I stated and stare at him intently.

He just raised his eyebrow at me making me smile once again.

“ I like your expression , even though you make different faces your eyes remains stoic and cold. “ I said .

He just remained staring at me, okay Yanny stop being so talkative , this guy won’t speak unless you ask him an important question!

“ Ahm let’s continue touring you around the university, since tomorrow’s our first official class after the one week break “ I stated awkwardly and stands up only to be stop by him .

“ Though I don’t understand why do you have to transfer universities when the school year already started, “ I can’t help it but to talk and talk, well you can’t blame me though, there’s an awkward tension between us that I can’t even explain!

As I expected he didn’t even tried to answer me and just continued following me. I feel like I’m talking with the air, I feel like I’m doing nothing but to tour a ghost here in the university.

“ This is the Boy’s Dormitory, no girls are allowed to enter and of course I bet that you already know that this is the dorm. By the way I forgot to tell you, there are three cafeterias here in the university, the main cafeteria is the one that we have eaten from and the other two are located at the boy’s and girl’s dormitory’s ground floor “ I explained as I point out towards the buildings that I’m showing him.

He can use a map actually but it will be hard for a new student like him to get familiarize with just that map and also he has the ‘privilege’ to be toured around by me because he’s an ‘important’ ‘ special’ transfer student .

“ So this will be the last building I’ll show you, for now you can go back to your dorm and have a rest- “

I stopped from my statement when I found him already walking towards the boy’s dormitory without even listening to me.

I may be a very kind lady but his bad behavior shouldn’t be ignored!

I quickly run towards him and forcefully make him turn to face me.

He stared at me , boredom is evident on his face .

“ You are the meanest guy I ever met “ I stated seriously.

I noticed how his expression change and for the first time since I’ve been with him this morning, his eyes showed a hurtful emotion.

Automatically my heart get swayed because of that, how can I be so mean? I made him sad! What to do?

“ Let’s be friends okay?” I stated and smiled gently at him as I mess up his hair .

As if he realized what I did he quickly took a step back and hold his hair while staring at me with wide eyes.

I grinned widely, that’s what I want to see ever since I laid my eyes on him. I want to see every single sincere expression that he’ll make .

“ You’re so cute shorty “ I stated and laugh as I move forward to pat him on his head.

“ now, now, quit glaring at me shorty” I said softly as I notice him glaring at me.

I feel like I have tamed a viscous dragon right now! What a great experience .

“ I feel like I’m a wolf getting pat by a rabbit “ he stated with his cheeks reddening.

I laughed at him as I continue to caress his hair.

“ Stop laughing , it’s embarrassing , quit patting my head “ he stated seriously and shoved my hand away from his head.

“ So it’s settled then , “ I stated and crossed my arms at my chest

He raised his eyebrow giving me a “ what the fuck is settled?” look.

“ from now on, Abcdef is now my friend, “ I said.

“ Declined “ he stated with finality and entered the boy’s dormitory leaving me dumbfounded.

“ B-but you let me pat your head, isn’t that supposed to mean yes?” I stated hoping that he can hear me but sadly he’s gone already.

Hmp, Abcdef is really mean!

“ Hey, I already arrived here in Spain, I’ll be meeting your fiancé after three days “ Abcd informed me through phone call.

“ Ok “ I answered .

“ By the way, why did you use your real name? What if they find out that we switched?” Abcd asked me curiously.

“ I thought that if I tell her my real name she’ll remember who I was “ I stated and let out a sigh.

“ Geez, just hurry up and find the gem okay? I’m sacrificing my single life here for you “ Abcd said .

“ Besides, don’t go outside Italy unless it’s emergency, Merilay might found out that we’re tricking her” Abcd added and ended up the call.

I stared at my reflection on the mirror , I just finished taking a bath and I can see a lot of scars in my naked body.

I know that it’s risky to use my real identity here when Abcd and I switched places, I just thought that she’ll remember me but turns out she didn’t, well that’s actually fine with me.

I clicked my tongue as I remember her gentle caress in my hair earlier. How dare her touch me when she don’t even remember me?

I slowly traced my scar on the left shoulder, it was a deep cut from a kitchen knife.

“ tss, annoying “ I whispered as I remembered how she called me shorty earlier.

Still, I can’t deny the fact that I want to be remembered but what will be her reaction if she finally remember who I was?
