Emily’s heart almost dropped to the floor as soon as she got out of the elevator. It’s her first day at the branch office of EC Brokerage, and she’s excited to meet the man who broke her BFF's heart. The ticking sound of her high-heeled shoes echoed around the hallway, and every step she took towards the glass door caused her blood pressure to rise a little bit.

She took a deep breath before she pushed the door open, and she prepared her best smile for everyone when she entered. It had been six months since Jasmine passed away but for Emily, it felt like yesterday. How could she even forget about it? Jasmine stretched her hands as she was falling to the ground and Emily knew that the heartbroken woman heard her screams. Since then, she had nightmares every night! In her dreams, Jasmine tried to talk to her but the message has always been vague.

“Hi,” she greeted the receptionist at the counter who’s occupied with a phone call. The young woman motioned her to sit down and wait. She obeyed, and while waiting, Emily studied the office that’s going to become her battleground! As soon as the receptionist finished talking on the phone, she stood up and approached the counter. “I’m Emily Gosum, and I have an appointment with Mr. Levi Ching.” She withheld the information about her new position at the EC Brokerage.

“Ah yes! Miss Sheryl from the main office already called about you. Please follow me,” she walked ahead towards Levi’s office and introduced the new sales trainee to Levi’s secretary. “Mr. Ching won’t be here until the afternoon, but Camilla can orient you about your responsibilities.” She added.

Emily smiled at the woman before she turned to Camilla for guidance. Levi’s secretary eyed her from head to toe, and Emily remained calm at being scrutinized for her appearance. “Is my outfit inappropriate for the position?” She asked while referring to her pink mini-skirt and white hanging blouse. The blazer she paired with the blouse failed to hide her plump mounds. Camilla was flat-chested so she understood why the woman’s eyes lingered at her boobs.

“Oh, not really, Miss Emily. It suits you.” Camilla said before she retrieved a folder that contained their company profile. “You still have thirty minutes before our office hours, so if you haven’t eaten your breakfast yet, now is the time to grab it.” She advised.

Emily shook her head because she already ate. “I’m fine. Let’s just begin if you’re ready,” she said.

Camilla arched her brows when she heard the recent remark of their new sales trainee. In her mind, she could already imagine Levi’s reaction upon meeting Emily. “Sure, if you say so. Coffee or tea?” She offered.

“Hmmm coffee will be fine,” Emily answered.

Camilla excused herself and went to the pantry. When she returned, she brought a tray with coffee and cake. “I’ve read from your resume that you have experience with sales but in a different industry,” she stated.

“Yes, that’s right.” Emily nodded.

“Your degree in Customs Administration will be a big help, Miss Emily. It won’t be long before you’ll become an ace, just like the previous sales trainee. Well, everyone under my boss becomes great!” Camilla stated proudly.

Emily smiled to camouflage her true emotions. When she learned that Levi went straight to his client, she was slightly disappointed. She prepared for this day! “Your boss must be great, too.” She had to clear a lump in her throat when she complimented Levi Ching.

“He’s great at everything!” Camilla added, and then she paused and stared at Emily. “Just be careful around him,” she warned Emily.

Emily blinked her eyes before she narrowed it towards Camilla. “What do you mean?”

“Levi is a heartbreaker, and she broke every woman’s heart who’s involved with him.” Being Levi’s secretary, she shouldn’t be discussing his flaws with the newly hired trainee, but Camilla was positive that Levi would want Emily to become his woman!

“Wow? He must be handsome, then.” Emily jested, but her heartfelt like being shredded into tiny pieces for the sake of her best friend.

Camilla pouted her lips because it was true that Levi was the most handsome guy in their office, however, he wasn’t her type! For her, Levi lacked some substance for being a husband material, and she has no plans to cry for a man. “He is. So, this is our company profile, you study it while you have your coffee.” She handed a customized folder to Emily before she stood up to chat with their receptionist for a few minutes. “I’ll be back later,” she said to Emily.

“Sure,” Emily agreed, and as she sipped her coffee, she began to flip the pages of EC’s company profile. On the first page, she saw a whole-body picture of Eliakem Chaves, and Emily smiled at the possibility of seeing him again. Eliakem’s father managed their main office in Pasay, and it was the older man whom she has to thank for being instantly hired. Although she graduated with a degree in customs administration, she lacked the experience of being in the forwarding industry! She had been working in the hospitality industry for five years!

Fifteen minutes later, Camilla returned, and behind him was a tall man in his finest clothing. Emily stared at the newcomer, and she offered him a smile when he glanced at her direction. The man could be holding a high position at EC and she could tell it from the way his body moved confidently.

“You said you’d go straight to your VIP client,” Camilla complained before the man.

“He has an emergency,” he replied. No further explanation, while his eyes darted at the alluring woman. He used his eyes to communicate with Camilla to know who the woman was.

“The new trainee. Hmmm Emily, are you done? Come here please,” Camilla called for Emily to join her and Levi. “Please introduce yourself to Levi,” she announced.

WHAT? Camilla’s sudden announcement made her glanced at the man for a few seconds before she lowered her eyes! She expected Levi Ching to be pleasant in the eye, given his womanizing activities, but the man who appeared in front of her eyes was more than handsome! Levi Ching was someone every woman dreamed of taking their virginity! “I’m Emily Gosum, sir, the new trainee.” She almost stammered as she introduced herself, but then, Camilla and Levi burst out laughing. Emily was slightly offended at their reaction, but she managed to hide it with a beautiful smile.

“Sorry. I can’t help myself when you called him sir. It’s just Levi, Emily.” Camilla corrected the woman.

“Yes. Just call me Levi, Emily.” Levi said, and he could tell from the way she fidgeted that she’s attracted to him. “When you’re done with the company profile, please come to my office.” He ordered, and the woman nodded.

As she watched Levi walked to his office, Emily thought that she should be careful around Levi because the man was an expert in seducing young women! He must have assumed she was attracted to him and gritted her teeth in silence. Emily smirked as she imagined how to make him pay for breaking Jasmine's heart!
