Chapter 5

I gripped her hand tightly as I dragged her towards Ryu. “Ryu! Good morning! I want you to meet a friend. Her name is Shanelle.” I said. He turned around with a smiled before his face turned to pure shock. What’s wrong? Is Shanelle really that beautiful to make him react like that? I’m jealous even I can’t make hi-- “Y-You’re friends with the Millionare CEO Mr. Ronel Smith’s daughter!” He yelled which caught everyone’s attention. They all paused what they were doing and turned to us. Oh god the attention is uncomfortable.“It’s nice to know someone recognizes me.” Shanelle gave me a smug look and I just glared at her.

“What’s going on here?” I heard Damian’s voice. I turned my head slightly and saw him walking towards us. “Hi Ian! I was just introducing my friend here. Her na--” He cuts me off. “Shanelle Jasmine Smith, age 26, daughter of the Millionare CEO Mr. Ronel Smith and Mrs. Sharon Smith. Nice to meet you. I’m Damian Salvator, the CEO of the Salvator’s Suits.” He said and held out a hand which Shanelle happily accepted. I felt a tinsy winsy bit of jealousy but didn’t mind it. I was more shocked with how much Damian knows about her. Is he a stalker? Does he have a crush on Shanelle?

“You know a lot.” I said pouting slightly and he chuckled. “I do my research. Get back to work everyone.” He said and everyone went back to what they were doing. “I have to go. I’m touring this city. I’ll visit you later Aphira.” Shanelle said and went out.

“Are you free later? I wanna show you somewhere.” I asked Damian shocking him. This is weird. Normally the guy asks the girl out but now it’s the opposite. He blushed and coughed. “Uh yeah sure.” He mumbled but I heard him. I smiled brightly and cheered. We both went back up to his office and started doing our jobs.

It was now Lunch time and I’m excited. I really hope this helps Damian regain some of his memories. I’m taking him to a park where we would always play. That park holds a lot of memories to us…well to me. “Are you ready Ian?” I asked and he nodded. “Do you know how to drive? Or would you like me to drive while you give directions?” He asked. Hmm…”I’ll let you drive.” I said. We got to his sweet Lamborghini and I took shot gun.

He got out of the parking and I gave him the first instruction. “Turn left.” I said and he does. “Where do you plan on taking me? Is this some sort of a warehouse where you have people waiting ready to kidnap me? Just so you know I’m a black belt in Taekwondo and I don’t go down without a fight.” He said.

“What? No! Why would I even kidnap you?” I laughed and he grins taking a small glance at me. “Obviously because I’m hot as hell. Who wouldn’t want to kidnap me?” He said and I turned red. Damn you! He’s playing with me. “Well if someone did then you wouldn’t be here with me right now Mr. Salvator. Don’t be so full of yourself.” I huffed crossing my arms and he laughed.

I looked at the road and said, “Turn right and then another right here.” He did as told. He turned right and then another right. “Good now just go straight. I’ll tell you when we get there.” I said. I looked outside seeing the same houses we would pass by going here.

“This place seems familiar. It’s like I’ve been here before.” Damian said and I smiled. Yes you’ve been here before, many times. That should be a nice progress. “Stop.’ I said and he parked the car at the side of the road. We both got out and I grabbed a picnic basket. “Come on! I’m sure you’ll like this.” I said and grabbed his arm pulling him to the park.

A few children were running around playing and their guardians where somewhere chatting or on their phones. I took us to an empty spot and placed down the blanket and the picnic basket. I took out some sandwices, a wine, and two fancy glass. “Is this a date Ms. Horris?” He asked and I blushed looking away. “Of course not! I just wanted to take someone here. This place is important to me.” I said and he sat down beside me. He grabbed a sandwich and took a bite out of it.

“This is good. Did you make it?” He asked and I respond with a nod. “You’ll make a good wife someday.” He said and my eyes widened. I punched his arm lightly and he laughed. We ate our sandwiches in silence and he poured us both wine. “I wanna drink!” A small boy ran up to us and tried to grab my wine. “Oh! No. This is bad for children and are only for adults. Here what about an orange juice.” I said raising my glass up so he wouldn’t reach. I grabbed a small carton of orange juice and gave it to him. “Thank you.” He said and ran away.

I heard a laugh next to me and found Damian laughing. “See you’re even good with children.” He said and I blushed again. Stop making me blush for goodness’ sake! I drank my wine and looked at the swings. “You wanna ride? I’ll push you.” He offered and I nodded. I sat on the swing and Damian stood behind me pushing the swing. This feels like the good old days when we would play here. I ride the swing while he pushes me softly so that I wouldn’t fall.

The swing stopped and I heard a groan behind me. I stood up and turned around seeing Damian rubbing his forehead. “Are you okay?” I asked worriedly rushing to his side. “Just a headache. It’s 1 we should head back. The 1 hour lunch also applies to us too you know.” He said smiling. We packed up the picnic and head to his car going back to the office. Is Damian finally remembering?
