I woke up feeling excited for the day. Today was day 1 of attempting to get Damian’s memories back. I did my usual morning routine and got to work earlier than intended.”Good morning Ms. Horris. You’re early today.” The guard said opening the door for me. :Good morning to you too Mister,” I smiled before walking in. Some co-workers greeted me which made me smile. Wow it’s only my second day and almost everyone knows me.

“Popular already I see.” I turned around and saw Ryu grinning. He wore a suit with a red tie. He looks so handsome in his get up. “I know and it’s only my second day. What rumors have been going around? What’s with your get up today? Do you have a business meeting?” I bombed him with many questions.

“No rumors just ‘There’s a new girl named Aphira Horris in the building’ and indeed I do have a business meeting to get to. So if you excuse me.” He walked past me patting my head before going in the meeting behind me. I whispered a small good luck before getting on the elevator with a few people. I got off it once I reached the top most floor.

No one was here yet. I suppose that’s not bad. I put my things on my desk and looked around. This place is quite spacious if you ask me. The only stuff I see here is my working place, Damian’s desk and a few cabinets. The middle part is so empty and unattractive. I searched for a clock and found none. I looked at my watch and smiled. I have 3 hours till 8. I can do this! “Hello this is Aphira Horris I would like to……”

3 hours passed and I was satisfied with what I’ve done to the office. I organized Damian’s desk and files since it was a total mess and unorganized. I also ordered and bought a few furniture to add around the place. I changed Damian’s spinning chair into something better and more comfortable since his old one was squeaking and kinda rusty. I put a couch and a few potted plants here and there as well as a wall clock to make this place more homy and lively.

The door opened and I gasped turning around. “Good mor-” Damian stopped once he saw everything. Lany being the curious cat she is decided to take a peak and gasped. “Woah! You did a great job here Aphi!” Lany said as she skipped in and twirled around. Damian walked to his desk and sat on his new chair. I bit my lower lip nervously wondering what he’ll say. Oh no what if he liked the way it was before.

“This is nice. I’m proud and glad for what you’ve done Ash.” He said with a smile. I’m happy he likes it. This doesn’t have anything to do with getting his memories back though. “Thanks and I’m sorry for not telling you.” I said.

“It’s fine. That reminds me.” He took out a piece of paper and wrote something down. He gave it to me and I took it. “Here’s my number. I’m you’ll need it.” He said and I nodded. I took out my phone and quickly saved his contact. I secretly took a pic of him looking out the window and used it as the picture for his contact.

“Tsk. Stop flirting you two.” Lany said. Oh my I completely forgot that she was here! “We’re not flirting. Now go back to your work.” Damian said and made a shooing motion with his hand. Lany pouts and went out of the office. I laughed a little and sat on my chair.

“What’s for today Ash?” Damian asked while spinning his chair. He’s like a child. I smiled remembering the times where we would go with our parents during business meetings and play in their office completely trashing it. Then when they get back they’d give us a 1 hour lecture and I’ll cry while Damian comforts me.

“Ash? Are you okay?” I snapped out of my thoughts seeing Damian in front of me. My cheeks turned pink realizing his face was so close to mine. “Y-Yes! Umm for today…Ah here. 9am-10:30am you have a meeting with Mr. Nyager then right after that you must proceed to Felis Italis for lunch with your cousins, Mr. Ivan Salvator and Ms. Tiana Salvator. The rest of your afternoon is free.” I said. He backed away and rubbed his chin letting out a small ‘hmm.’

“Thanks. You’re a natural at this job.” He said and made his way back to his place but stopped and turned to me. “How did you know that they’re my cousins?” He asked. Oh no did I say that? He must be suspicious. “Ahh I just assumed it since they both had your last names.” I said while smiling innocently. Please don’t ask more questions. Please, please, please, pl-- “Oh. Let’s go to the meeting now. “ He said and I nodded while standing up. He explained to me on the way what I’ll be doing in the meeting room. It was simple really. I’ll just be sitting in a corner and when Damian needs anything he’ll just ask me to come over and I’ll do what he asks.

The meeting was boring. I think even Damian got bored. I saw him nodding his head off then sometimes jolting awake when his name is called. I silently laughed at him in the corner. Right now we are heading to Felis Italis to have lunch with his cousins. I wonder what their reactions would be. Will they recognize me? Wait if they did Damian will be confused on how we know each other.

The car stopped and we got out and head in the restaurant. I kept my head down while Damian searched for his cousins. I saw a cat by my feet circling around. Damian grabbed my wrist and dragged me to a table. “Dammy! Oh how have you been my little baby boy.” Tiana said and hugged Damian giving him kisses on both cheeks. She looked at me and her eyes widened before smiling. I could see a hint of sadness in her eyes. “Damian.” Ivan said and they both did a bro fist. He looked at me and nodded.

After the greetings, we all sat down. “Who is this wonderful lady with you Dammy? Is she your girlfriend?” Tiana asked and smirked at me. Damn her she knows back then that I had a crush on Damian. But now I’m sure those feelings are gone. “No she isn’t. this is my personal assistant Aphira Horris. Ash, meet my cousins Tiana and Ivan.” Damian said and I smiled at them. “Nice meeting you too.” I said

“I already ordered for us. I know you’ll like what I got.” Ivan said. A cat soon hopped onto our table and went towards me. “No wonder the restaurant is named Felis Italis. I’m guessing this is some sort of Italian restaurant with cats in it.” Damian said while petting the cat. The cat purred and nuzzled its head in his hand.

“You know I once had a cat like this one but his fur was black. We-I named him Lucky but sadly he died when I was 15.” I said. Damian froze for a moment and my eyes lit up in hope. Does he remember? We found Lucky as a kitten in the streets when we were 4. We took him to my house and got him cleaned up and fed. We decided we would name him Lucky because he was lucky we found him. Damian shook his head and put the cat on his lap. I sighed in disappointment. I guess it’ll take more than that.

A waitress soon came and placed down a few plates of 4 types of pasta, 2 pans of pizza and softdrinks. My eyes widened at the amount of food. How are we gonna finish this up! “I guess we’ll take a while here.” Damian chuckled.

I’m exhausted. For the whole afternoon we actually stayed and ate at Felis Italis. I sat silently only joining in the conversation when they mention my name. I continued playing with the cats while they talked about business stuff I don't really care. I’m so full, I don’t think I’ll eat dinner anymore. I kicked my shoes off and threw my bag somewhere before heading straight to my room and falling asleep.
