Chapter Three✨

KYDAH'S POV. . .

"Hey!" Dinar greeted from the other line of the phone as soon as I answer her phone call. Lemme tell you, she's definitely bored. Don't ask I just know, that's the only reason I can come up with right now. Let's see..

"What's up babe?" I cheerfully ask my best friend. What, I'm also bored hence I'll try my best to make her come over. Yeah, there's no one at home at the moment, so she should not panic about seeing her soon to be husband which would be awkward.

Seeing your soon to be husband in his house with your mother in law will be so awkward, don't you think? Ha! I can't do that, that's if I'll even be able to look at him talkless of his mother.

"Nothing much, I'm just bored." she whined through the phone. See, I'm always right when it come to my best friends. Okay, not always but most of the time, I do. We were friends since diapers, not diapers, but not long before we stopped using it.

"Come over, I'm bored too." I happily verballed standing up from the carpeted floor where I was sitting, trying to select a movie to watch and my bowl of popcorn with so much milk inside and a can of soda at the side.

"Is my Habiby at home?" Dinar shyly asked. I know she wants to see him but it's like a bad omen or something I don't know about their culture, so she can't see him and not even in his own house.

"Aww she's already missing my brother, but its a bad omen to see your husband few days to your wedding. Have patience love, seven more days." I teased with a huge grin that almost makes my mouth to part into two.

"Whatever! I'll go get the girls," she stated squealing. I already know my destination when they're here, they'll finish my popcorn and everything, lemme even start eating my stuffs. "Wait, you're alone right?" she suddenly asked.

"Yep, see you later." I ended the call immediately, I can't wait to start eating my pop corn, I make the best pop corn in the whole universe.

As soon as I dropped the phone on the couch, just a few minutes after started munching on my pop corn amd soda, an unknown number flashed on my phone -calling- so I hesitantly picked. What? I don't pick random numbers, that's just not like me but something about this just feel different.

"Hello?" I stated hesitantly, cos who knows maybe this person is a drug dealer, mafia leader, serial killer, zombie or something. Ugh, I'm watching way too much NCIS these days.

Drug dealer? Seriously Kydah? My subconcious yet again mock me around.

"Hi Kydah, it's Anwaar." Gosh! His voice is to die for aswear, I mentally gushed, its so sweet and velvety. I'm not doing anything near exaggeration, trust me. I almost swoon.

"Oh, ina yini, Ya Anwaar (Good afternoon Ya Anwaar)." I greeted respectfully. What, I don't have any problem calling my brothers' friends Yaya. Maa said that's the most respectful way of addressing someone older than you thus, this.

"Lafiya kalau, alhamdulillah. How you doing?" he asked, blandly. Aww, he's such a wonderful person. I like him already. Ooops, he could be someone's husband, boyfriend or fiancee. I have to stop my reveries. Am I exaggerating if I say I felt an unpleasant tug in my chest?

"I'm fine Alhamdulillah." I replied with the most innocent voice I could ever muster. Yep, I don't want him to think that I have a bad voice.

Yeah, whatever!

We talked for about thirty minutes, asking questions randomly about school and stuffs before I heard thuds coming from the stairs so I said "I gotta go, they're here." I've already told him that my friends are coming over already.

"We'll talk later, yeah?" he asked hopefully. I'm not even tired of hearing his voice, so I did what any girl would say when she's in my shoe.

"Sure," I stated almost as excited as he was. C'mon don't blame me for agreeing immediately.

"Alright, take care," he said and I also replied with thesame before ending the phone call just then, my so called friends ran into the room.

Aw he's such a darling.

"Can't br..ea..the," I manage to choke out when my best friends jump on me or should I say, elephant friends. All of them are not slim, let's say I'm the only one that can be called slender.

"Ooops..My bad," they all muttered getting off of me. And lemme tell you, I know they're not sorry for anything.

"I can't seem to get used to this place," Dinar yelled twirling around, in our warm and cozy living room. I also love it with all my heart. Don't you dare call me dramatic. The living room in mine and Mehr's only.

"You will," I winked at her while she just blushed before going back to sit on the sofa next to Nasrin who couldn't keep her phone away nor stop smiling.

"I know right," Minal said giggling. So this is how nowadays brides are? They'll all be so desperate to get married or is it only my friends. Oh Allah!

We chatted, teased, laughed, and plan about the wedding since it's already next week, before they stood up to leave. The two brides accept the dinner after much persuasion. We're only having a bridal shower and dinner.

"We gotta go baby girl. Maa and the grooms will soon be back and we don't wanna meet them, you know?" Dinar said standing up while Minal and Nasrin pick their bags

"Iyyeh, wai su kunya, (they're now acting all shy)." I teased. I like teasing brides wallah. It's so much funny cause they don't like it at all.

"Oh shut up, will you?" Minal glared and start ambling to the door not waiting for the girls as if the grooms will pop out of no where.

"Lemme see you off." I carried my scarf to accompany them out to the front door before saying our adieu.

I went back to our room and pray Maghrib before mama ,Ya Muhsin, Ya Habib and Mehr get back from the mall. They're taking so long already, hmm, lemme just talk to Ya Anwaar.

"Kyda!" Maa called massaging my head. How I like my mother's massage. It's just one in a billion if I'm not underestimating.

"Yes Maa," I said looking up from my phone- and guess who I'm chatting with? Yeah Anwaar, not Ya Anwaar again, to look at her.

"You said you're going to collect your t-shirts for the bridal shower by no," Maa reminded me looking at the wall clock that read ten past three pm.

"Woah! I've forgotten, I'm here talking to Nasrin about our gown for the dinner The tailor said that we should go and collect it now," I kept on talking grandiloquently. Maa asked me to take a deep breath before saying.

"Go and carry your veil then. Are you going yourself or is Nas coming to pick you?" Maa asked pushing my head from her thighs 'cause I wasn't ready to stand up.

"I'm going to pick her up," I stood up and moseyed upstairs to get my veil and car keys. Which was a hard task since I'm getting out of shape without my morning yoga.

"Bye Maa," I waved standing at the front door saying my du'a. She replied with a simple.

"Drive safe darling." In her sweetest voice that will make you drive safe even if you don't want to.

"Insha Allah," I muttered before walking out of the house and sauntered into my car.

•••

"Where's my shoe?" Mehr asked no one in particular. She's been asking the same question for the last ten minutes. Yep, like a mad woman looking for the dirts she hid.

"Whose phone is this? Its ringing." Nasrin said raising up my phone. Her mind wasn't even on my phone, she was just raising it like a paper. By Allah if something happen to my phone eh.

"Mine. Pass it please." I yelled at her since she was busy adding blush to her already blushed cheekbones.

The caller ID is Anwaar. Aw... my sweet new friend. He has been sending flowers, roses, teddies, perfumes and all. Isn't he acting romantic? But hey, I'm not complaining at all.

At first I didn't accept it, you know, but he wjen said...

"I'll stop talking to you then." he feigned hurt, I know he can do that for a day but I don't want him to stop talking to me even if it's for a day.

"Haba nah. It's just too much that's why fah." I pouted.

"Nop, it's not. Just accept it then we're good." he rested his arms under his chest.

"Hmm.. Alright then." I collect the roses and smelled it, Gosh! It's heaven. "Thank you." I said blowing a kiss to him. He just caught it and stood there smiling at me like a maniac. Cliché, I know.

He said something about liking me but I told him that I'll think about it. Yep, I won't lie I'm starting to like him. First I thought it was just a mere crush, who wouldn't? He got this handsome face but it's not. I think I'm falling hard for him what I've never done or felt before.

We're really close now, since I'm very comfortable talking to him like a friend not like a brother. But they said if you fall you'll end up breaking and hurting. I'm afraid though, I've never been in love. It's all new to me. But I'm willing to take the risk. That's what love is all about huh?

He said he'll give me time till after the wedding stuff since I'm stressed. Your best friends marrying your brothers is not easy at all, I mean at ALL.

"Hey, you!" I greeted whilst grinning from ear to ear. Just talking to him can do that to me talkless of seeing him.

"Hi you!" he replied with a chuckle, maybe he could already see me grinning in his head. That would've been so embarrassing.

"How you doing?" I ask benevolently but trying to hide my excitement this time around.

"I'm doing good, alhamdulillah. What about you?" he asked back hmm, let's be honest.

"I'm fine too, but tired." I said sighing, dramatically. But not so dramatical, I'm really tired.

"Go and sleep."

"Come again." I tried to suppress my laughter. Maybe he's forgotten about the Bridal Shower.

"I said go and sleep." he repeated stressing all the words.

"Seems like your memory isn't working well these days." I teased.

"Really? How's that?" He asked, clearly interested in what I'm about to tell him. He likes giving me his undivided attention all the time.

"Cause you always forget about stuff recently." I whispered, wanting to tease him a little.

"Uhmm... What is it now?" Again, he sounds so interested, gosh Anwaar.

"BRIDAL SHOWER." I yelled. Thank God they've all left the room. I'm the only one or they'd think I'm mad. Because I am if they'll know the story behind it.

"Oh. I've forgotten." he repeat the words he has been saying recently.

"I gotta go then."

"Okay! Sleep as soon as you come back, Ok?" he said balmy as I chortled.

"OK sir. As you wish!" I ended the call.
