Chapter Two✨

KYDAH'S POV. . .

"Mehr." I called when I came out of the bathroom after a long relaxing shower. I know I wasn't supposed to take a long shower since our guest should be here by now but I just couldn't help it.

"Hmm?" she hmm-ed typing away in her iPhone 6s. God, this girl and phone is like chewing gum and mouth. Am I even right with my english? What does chewing gum like most? Whatever.

"What should we wear?" I ask obliquely sitting down on the bringing out the chair in front of our vanity table. She's my fashion guru. I always ask for her opinion before dressing up and when I was in college, I will just wear jilbaabs or shailahs, it's just so simple and comfortable.

"Jallabiya or Natives?" she asked back, walking into our walk in closet which was by the end of the room. Its so huge and it contains- mostly Mehr's rubbish inside. Okay I have my own huge part there but its still not like hers.

"Nah, I'm going for jallabiya" I said sitting on the chair near the vanity table- which I brought out, where our make up stuffs are well arranged, mostly Victoria Secret- perfumes and creams. I like Victoria secret, like so so much. Who doesn't?

"Same." She said bringing out a red jallabiya- red with golden embroidery just alittle above her chest, from the rack where many of her jallabiyas were hanged in a very neat way. I'm sure she didn't do it alone, maybe Nadiya helped.

"Bring mine please; any black," I plead combing my long, silky, black hair after finishing my light makeup; kohl, powder and lip gloss. I'm not a fan of makeup, no offense makeup lovers, I'm also not against it. I like it when people do it.

"Here," she said keeping it on my bed and I murmured a thanks. It's long black jilbaab with a little silver embroidery at the back and wrists.

"I broke up with Khaliq at school when he came," she stated when she wore her jallabiya. Why is she talking nonchalantly again, as if she's talking about the weather whilst she's talking about heart break.

"He wanted to marry me because of Paa's money and status." Ooops, so all these things that are happening in the movies and novels are happening to my sister. Where are you taking us dunya? I ask myself.

"What!" I shrieked, sometimes I act like a teenage girl and I myself knew it but I can't help it, its horrifying. "How?" she got the hint that I'm asking her how did she know.

"I heard him talking to someone on the phone when he came to school. I was having a bad feeling about him these last few weeks," she vocalised with a shrug and me gaping at her like a fish.

"Inaa Lillahi Wa'inna Ilaihi Alraji'un, (From Allah we are and unto him we shall return)." I murmured closing my mouth with my hand. I feel nauseous all of a sudden, "So people like this still exist?" I asked more to myself.

"Wallah, I never thought so. I didn't even feel like crying when I heard him. It's like I've never loved him wallah. No heartbreak, no tears, no tissues and no watching Netflix the whole night. I don't love him Didi, I'm just fooling myself just like the rest." Mehr said boisterously.

"Thank God you found out earlier, only Allah knows what were his plans when he succeed," I shake my head in disapproval.

"We broke up right away. I can't even look at his face. Thank God he's going to Sudan. He's going to be there for like six years I think. And he was telling me that we could go together by then we're happily married," she laughed, "Can you imagine?"

"Wow!" I said relieved but still, I'm feeling a little bit uneasy with the new information. My sister is one hell of a woman sometimes.

"We look like twins!" she twirled around in front of the mirror. She likes saying that whenever we're getting ready together but we don't look much alike even though people can point out that we're sisters immediately- if we're seen together.

"You and who?" I sarcastically asked knowing fully well that she's referring to me. Mehr is a beautiful young lady, I admit. She's fair whilst I'm tan, we don't have a lot of differences but we still don't look alike.

"Me and you duh," she retouched her powder with a brush which she said its used to apply powder. Its so big with fur everywhere. She has those things in a black bag that looks like my old school bag. There are so many, ugh.

"Keep dreaming," I rolled my eyes at the mirror so she can be able to see me clearly since she's also using the mirror doing only Allah knows. It's not like she likes makeup but she still have everything needed. For future reference, her words.

"I'm even finer than you," she mumbled running out of the room to the living, standing at the door with a sheepish grin.

"Take it back!" I shout at her retreating figure that's nearing the door- which will take her to the foyer and down the stairs. She left again, leaving me alone to greet our or-so-niceguy-guest. Ugh..

"Never!" I heard her shout back with the door a little bit opened so she can pop her head through it.

I heard my iPhone 7+ ringing inside the bag I went to the coffee shop with, this afternoon. Who could it be? I'm not expecting any phone call right now, not that I have time for calls.

I brought out the phone from the bag to check the caller ID which was Minal. I didn't call any of them when I reach home. My shit is dry today, so hell me Allah, I'm in for trouble, Hmmp!

"Good K," Minal's voice boom through the speaker enormously. You see, that's the problem with Minal, don't you dare piss her off. I'm trying my best not to, especially these days that she's always tensed about the wedding.

"I'm so sorry Min, we're having a guest and you know how Maa is when she's having one, and she even said that he's a nice guy, and he's also Ya M..." I verballed afraid of what she'll say next, I'm not ready to fight with an angry Minal. She cut me off.

She sighed softening, "Alright then, I understand, you don't have to keep rambling. Ha! I know I just made you nervous," was all she vocalised with a chuckle at the end.

"Forgive me?" I ask hopefully, knowing her she can ask for something very difficult. Like- slap the guest's face for making you forget. Wickedness huh? That's Minal for you.

"Yeah," she laughed as if she knows what I was thinking and just then I heard my name called from downstairs.

"Kydah!" Maa called, she's really comfortable with this guest if not, she would've ask Mehr to come and get me but since she's yelling out my name like that, then that person must be so close to her.

"Thanks love, I gotta go, Bye! I love ya." I practically jumped when my name was called again like I committed a murder or something like that.

"OK Bye." she said ending the call, sensing my situation, she probably heard Maa yelling my name- she was so loud.

"I'm coming Maa," I yelled back checking myself once again to make sure I look presentable then exit the room. What? I don't know him but first impression matters.

"Who are you going to look presentable for? They are all family or is it the guest you want to look presentable for?" my subconscious mocks rolling her eyes.

"Will you shut up." I said glaring at her. Congratulations Kydah, you're officially crazy, fighting and glaring at yourself is the best way of showing it.

As I amble down the stairs, I felt someone's gaze on me, probably the guest. It's not like I'm feeling myself or something, but my family members' gaze will not make me feel that way. Hot I mean.

When I reach down the stairs- the dining room, I was the only one missing. Ya Muhsin,Ya Habib, Amdaad, Mehr, Maa, Paa and the guest were all there, sitting talking to the Anwaar guy whilst patiently waiting for me.

But what caught my eyes and attention was the guest, who was the guy we saw at the coffee shop. The one that Nasrin squealed for, yeah him. I know this face, I thought.

He look so handsome, clasped in his sky blue kaftan with navy blue embroidery around the neck and wrist, and matching Zannah Bukar cap. He was talking to Maa and Paa benigny and gently. So he's the nice guy, and also mysterious.

"Hello guys, I'm gonna be your waitress today." I said childishly so that their attention will be on me since they're all engrossed in talking to the Anwaar guy. I'm not kidding when I said I'm jealous of him.

They all laugh at my childish behavior including Anwaar. His laughter is the best sound in the whole universe if you ask me. I don't know why or how but its just it. You know that feeling- which i never had but read in so many books- the one that will make your stomach to be doing some weird stuffs? That's it.

And no, I'm not exaggerating.

"Hello to you too princess," Paa retorted smiling, fatherly. Yeah, I have my fatherly smile and cunning smile which Paa really knows how to use it on me that's when I know that something is fishy.

"Hey King," I said hugging him and kissing his cheeks. Our little chit chat every now and then is about a king who loves his princesses so much.

"I'm not yet Dead." Mehr said pouting. Aww, jealous much? I'm alreadu used to this size of her, she's also a mummy's girl.

"I know right." I said sticking out my tongue at her while she huffs. Childish, sorry not.

"K, take our orders I'm starving," Ya Muhsin whined like a baby, did I tell you that my family members are drama queens? I guess not, lemme tell you, they like drama so much and you'll see it for yourself.

"Same here." Ya Habib said raising up his hand, the he smiled sheepishly when he yawned.

"Same." Amdaad said raising up his hand too.

"Okay, Okay, hold your horses," I said laughing with Maa and Paa. They'll never let tume slide without torturing me.

"Let's start." I said as I start to serve the food in each and every plate that's in the dinning table.

"Hi." Anwaar greeted when I start to serve his food with a million dollar smile. Ya Allah! His voice is dangerously husky, sexy and amazingly sweet.

"Hello," I replied as my heart beat fastened, turning a bright shade of red. Thanks to my veil for covering my face cos I can't take this embarrassment.

Well he's sitting opposite to where I'm sitting, I hope I won't embarrass myself by looking at him the whole dinner.

Surprisingly, I didn't. I danced in victory mentally.
