Chapter 3

AGORAPHOBIA: Fear of open spaces and crowds.

LUX: God of light

The whole place was burning down.

People ran like their life depended on it. I could hear screams and wails like they came from a distance. Lifeless bodies were displayed on the ground with blood everywhere.

The air was polluted with dark smoke everywhere, it almost made it difficult to see. I heard chantings from above, it came repeatedly in the same rhythm. I looked up to see ravens in the sky. Their eyes were awkwardly red and glowing, something i'd never seen before. They were chanting incoherent words. It looked like they were under a spell or something.

The people were uncoordinated, running to nowhere in particular. It felt like they were experiencing their rapture and they were all doomed. No escape.

Soon enough, i felt something crawl up beside me. Something dead and rotten. They were exactly like zombies. Their skin looked disintegrated and disgusting. Their ribs and some other parts of their skeleton peeked out of their bodies. They had multiple sharp and slender teeth. Their teeth were bloody with meat stuck between them, meat i guessed to be human meat.

Immediately, they turned the people to their meals. They dug their hands into their bodies and pulled out vital organs, tore away their skin or bit them till their flesh came off. It sure wasn't something i was hoping to see again.

I felt something hit my arm with force. I turned and saw a lady run past me. She, unlike the rest, didn't have blood on her skin and her clothes weren't bloody. She held two baskets in hands like her life depended on it.

Trailing after her was an image i couldn't see properly. As it passed, the destruction followed. It looked like it was responsible for everything. I knew i couldn't see properly but i could see the dark smoke around her. The same dark smoke i'd seen murder my parents.

My curiosity pushed me and i found myself following them. I had no idea where they were heading to but i followed them anyways. Soon enough, i found myself in front of them. The baskets were gone and the lady i'd seen run past me was laying lifeless on the floor.

I didn't know why but i screamed over and over again. I had no idea why but i was pained. It felt like i lost what i had left and when i realized it, i stopped screaming. I didn't lose anything, i didn't even know who the lady was yet i felt pained.

I slowly knelt down beside her. She had exactly like my birthmarks with a leaf shaped one on her forehead. Her hair was as black as mine with her skin as pale as mine. Her eyes, however, were silvery grey with a little gold if you looked closer.

Her bloody palm was pressed to her stomach with blood spilling from her mouth. Her clothes were soaked with blood with a huge deep wound right in the middle. It looked like she was stabbed. The sight was unbearable, i had not seen anything like it before. She was dying in my hands and i was mourning.

I pulled out my hand and slowly placed it on her forehead. Her eyes widened immediately and i flinched. I pulled my hand away like the touch burned me. The specks in her silvery grey eyes glowed like a lamp.

"Come"

My eyes snapped open with a loud gasp.

My body shot up immediately. My body was wet with sweat and that made my clothes all damp and warm. My body temperature was incredibly high, it felt like i lived the dream. My heartbeats were fast and loud. Apparently, that was the only thing i heard.

I flinched when i noticed what was in front of me. At the other side, just in front of the glass were Mr psychologist, Red, regular men in suits, a cameraman and some people i had know idea about. They all starred at me with curiosity and surprise.

Well, apart from Mr psychologist. That's for sure.

The cameraman held his camera in place, recording every single moment like it was of so much importance. Couldn't blame him though, he had the greatest scientists around him. That's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The speakers weren't enabled so i couldn't hear a thing they said. However, it didn't take Einstein to see i was the topic of discussion. They gave me curious glances and wrote things down.

I stood up and made my way to the bathroom. I wasn't a fan of a lot of attention, i couldn't deal with having a lot of people around me and me being the center of attention wasn't helping.

I splashed water on my face and felt a lot more better as the cold water made contact with my hot skin. I splashed more water and felt my body get cooler. I went over to the bathtub and filled it with lukewarm water. I then stripped off my clothes and stepped in. I felt my body relax with the soothing temperature of the water. It felt like i'd never felt that good in a while.

*~*~*~*~*~*

When i got out of the bathroom, Mr psychologist was the only person in front of me. I felt better without them but i knew they'd be back soon.

I sat on the floor with my legs crossed and my head on the wall to avoid the same hit i experienced yesterday.

"Cae_"

"Stop" I said but my voice came out our rough and deep. I wasn't the type of person to talk much so i hadn't spoken to anyone in a while. I cleared my throat and repeated "Stop"

He raised an eyebrow as if questioning why i'd stop him. "What did you see?" He asked and i didn't reply this time. He sighed and said "If you don't reply me, i'll be forced to say the word again."

"What i saw is none of your damn business"

"What did you see?" He asked again. It didn't look like he was going to stop asking till i gave him a proper reply.

"I will tell you what i saw if you tell me what that word is"

"Caeli?" He asked. I flinched when he said it again, waiting for something to happen. I sighed when i didn't feel my head hit the wall. I wasn't the type to believe in magic but i had a feeling it was a magic spell or black magic business.

"Yeah, that"

"It's your name" he paused "You don't know that"

"My name is 1452" I corrected "Not caeli, Mr psychologist"

"Call me Lux"

"That doesn't change anything Mr psychologist. My name is 1452"

"Is that what your parents called you?"

"Mind your business"

"Well, the last time i checked, i'm your psychologist. You are my only business" He moved closer to the glass. "One more rude reply from you and you'll hate it. Don't test my capability"

I couldn't deny the fact that what he said intimidated me a bit but what's the worst he could do. No one came into my box so i was sure i wouldn't face any physical abuse. Besides that, i didn't think any other thing could hurt me.

"Is that a threat?" I asked but it was his turn to ignore so he didn't reply me. "Mary"

"What did you see?"

"Nothing that concerns you"

"I'm gonna ask you one last time" he said "What did you see?"

"Leave me alone" I muttered. He surprised me by smiling and bowing his head a little. "Anything for you my queen"
