Chapter 4: She's Not Your Enemy

As promised, Ryan picked me up and took me to this cool restaurant, we had a great time, after that we went for dessert and then he dropped me home. He said he was spending Sunday and Monday with Gabi at her lake house, ugh that bother me so much.

Well they're still together. What was I expecting. For him to leave her? Well actually yes, which makes me a bad friend. And now they're spending two days at a romantic place.

"You okay?" I look up to see my moms.

"I don't know." I told them what happened today with Ryan.

"Sounds like he likes you, I mean if I were studying away and I had to visit my best friend or my girlfriend, I would go to my girlfriend cause she's the most important person. Of course this is an example of me being young and childless."

"You and our daughters always come first, there's not second or third here." Mom said as we smiled.

"She's right, princess. But there's just one little problem, he's dating your best friend. And you can't go behind her back with him." Ma said.

"I know, but I can't help the way I feel about him, I met him before she met him. We've been friends since kids, so she has no room to get angry." I huffed.

"Calm down, she's not your enemy, she's just a girl who's not aware of your feelings for him and she's your best friend, Never forget that." Mom said as Ma nodded.

"You two are no help, you should say go ahead take a chance, kiss him away blow his mind." I sighed as I plopped on my bed. They just chuckled.

"Love is not easy, confusing sometimes." Mom said while looking at Ma.

"If it's meant to be, it will happen, but for now, just friends you and Ryan." Mom said.

"You're both right."

"We're always right." They said making me laugh. I swear they're something else.

We said goodnight and I went to put a movie till I fall asleep. My phone flashed a text and it was, Ryan.

Ryan-

I had a great day with you, shorty.

Me-

Me too, thank you for today.

Ryan-

Welcome, although I didn't want the day to be over, we should repeat it.

Me-

That would be great, just no throwing me in the sea again.

Ryan-

Make no promises, shorty.

Me-

One can only dream, goodnight Ryan.

Ryan-

Goodnight, Shorty.

I was smiling like crazy, even a good night text makes me smile. Ryan what are you doing to me. Why is it so hard to move on from you. With those thoughts I fell asleep.

..........

Tuesday came, I did my daily routine, grabbed breakfast with my family then went to school. I walked to my locker and there stood Gabi. Looking a little sad.

"Hey Gabi, what's up?"

"The two days we spent it together, he was acting strange, he wasn't like always, it's like his mind was somewhere else." She said as her voice was starting to break.

"I'm sure it's just stress, I mean he's in college, life there is harder cause they leave project after project, I'm sure there's nothing else." I said as I pulled her into a hug.

"You don't think he's cheating?" She asked.

"He's not that type of guy, talk to him maybe it will clear things."

"I will today after school, thanks, Aria." She smiled.

"Welcome." I said as we both walked to class.

Lunch came, and we sat at our table.

"So, there's this guy that's in this class with me, and he said he likes you, he's a little shy, but he asked if you would go out with him."

I did say about dating and stop rejecting, and what do I got to lose, Ryan and Gabi will probably make up and continue.

"Alright, I'll go out with him, what's his name?"

"Great, tomorrow after school he said he will wait for you by the fountain, and his name is Mario." She said as I gave her a look.

"He gave me details in advanced in case you said yes." She said as I shook my head.

Finally it was the end of the day, Gabi made a run to her car and went straight to Ryan's house. I went home and took a nap, I hope this date tomorrow goes well, and maybe he will help me get over Ryan.
