08: He's Not A Beggar

I quickly and quietly get up on my knees, leaned in, cupped her face and crashed my lips on her. It caught her off guard, but once my lips tasted her, I’m not gonna be able to pull away. Her lips tasted like my favourite liquor that I’ll never be able to get rid off.

I kiss her eagerly just before I know she will push me away. I panted, looking down in between us.

“What is it, Dave?” She put a hand on my chest, making space between us. I never like a space, even just by an inch. It makes me unconscious about myself. I sit back on the pillow, still not look up to see her. My eyes roamed everywhere but her.

“I love you, Zhizn moya. Always.” I said lowly, under my breath, I’m not sure if she heard me. My heart feel so heavy right now, because there’s a part in me that felt guilty keeping her under the dark. What she doesn’t know just yet, until Sergei open his mouth. “I just wanted you to know that I put this house under Demyan’s name. I need your signature to complete the legal paper.

“Okay.” She said without any burden. Can she agree on something else without thinking twice?

“I’ll call my lawyer tomorrow. She will bring the paper and legalize them immediately.” I look at her, holding back to ask more. But she sees it, she can easily read me.

“What do you want me to do, Dave?” She asked.

“I want you to stay here for tomorrow and tell your father not to worry about the both of you.” I look at her with a hopeful look.

“Can he? Not worry about us for a day, especially about his grandson?” Good question. You had to have a perfect, flawless reasons to give to Sergei.

“He won’t questioned you. I’ll have the jet ready for you to fly back to Rome when you’re ready to leave.” I grabbed her hand and squeeze it firmly to let her know that she have is covered. Everything she need will be provided within her eyes. “Please, Al. Stay.

“I’ll see what I can do.” I smiled softly at her in thankful. I want her to know that just by staying here for the night means a lot to me. I really will use this time wisely. My time is not much and I have to use it carefully. I can’t messed around.

Ring. Ring.

“That must be Viene. She’s watching Demyan. Do you want to go see him? He’s probably looking for you.” As a cue to end our awkward moment as I would like to put it that way. She nodded her head and start to get up from the floor. I followed after her and we walk out from the meditation room. I walk behind her like a lost puppy, but I’m not really lost. She’s my guide and with her I‘ll never be lost.

We get in to the elevator and pressed the button to the top floor. Standing side by side is not helping. All I want to do is just to kiss her away to rekindle our life. As much as I want to kiss her until we lost our breath, Demyan’s the attention seeker just really wants attention. Before the elevator doors opened, we can hear Demyan’s scream. What’s wrong with this little man?

We hurriedly run to my room and just to see him screaming and throwing a tantrum to Viene. Viene visibly sigh in relief when she saw us walking in to the room. I dismissed her and if she can walk faster than she already is, she probably will.

“What’s wrong, Dem?” I ruffled his hair as Alyona pick him up from his crib. As soon as he is in her arms, he calm down. I wonder where this attitude develop from.

“I’m going to breastfeed him.” She inform me, making her way to the bed. She settled on the bed with Demyan beside her. I couldn’t look away from my Russian beauty. I never get tired of looking at her in silence. As Demyan gets his need fulfilled, I’m still standing nearby his crib that he finally use for the first time. The crib are already been here for longer than him.

“Your lawyer is a she now? You dumped Kyle?” My attention was brought back to the reality. I shake my head to clear my mind before I turned to her.

“Kyle? No, he’s still with me. But I hired the attorney just to do the takeover of the estate. He said he is too busy serving a real client." I emphasis the word, because Kyle really annoyed the hell out of me. I don't give a damn about his real client, but what pisses me off is I paid him good money than his real clients. Still, he chose another client to be served.

"So he will be here tomorrow?" She said but that came out in a questioning way.

"He always come here in the morning." She raised her eyebrow in questioned. "I give him food and water." I shrugged my shoulders like it was nothing, it really was nothing.

"He's not a beggar." She defended him. That lucky bastard.

"I never say that, baby. You say the word, not me." Suddenly we are like having a normal conversation. It feels like there's no gap year, it feels normal. Like we never left the room, but have another creature between us.

The next moment, silence fell upon us. The thick air makes the room feel awkward. I nervously looked away and fisted out my phone from my pocket. "I'm going to call the attorney. I'll be right back." I awkwardly show her my phone, letting her know. But before I get out of the room, I approach the bed to Demyan's side. I crawl up to get closer to him and I see him still taking his milk, so I won't bother him that much.

"Don't be nasty okay, little man?" I kissed his forehead and was about to get back up, before he let go of his mother's nipple and grabbed my shirt. Oh no, here we go again.

"What is it, son?" I ask him like he can understand what I'm saying.

"Dada." He called me up. When I'm waiting for him to continue, he just stopped and go back to continue sucking on his mother's nipple. I look up to Alyona for help, but she doesn't give me much other than a smile.

"He doesn't want to let you go."

"Is that a good thing?" I ask then. If Demyan doesn't want to let go of me. Does that mean she will stay here? Even just for Demyan's sake. "I don't want him to leave, neither do you." I said and mean it with every fiber in my body.
