Creeper 3: The Monsters

"WOW! Where these people came from?" Mark said with amazement. The number of attendees were tripled compare to regular mass attendees. Today is the first night of Misa de gallo and their troops went to church to complete the nine day series of masses before the christmas eve. The mass has not yet started.

"You left the house so late and we still need to wait for you..." said Viva to Mark.

"It's worth the wait because I looked stunning tonight." Mark laughed jokingly, so he tasted the pinch of Viva.

"Enough! Let's go inside so we can still find seats." said Yam. They went inside and took the second to the last pew.

She sat first followed by Arix and then Richie, Viva and Mark. She surprised when someone tapped her shoulder and was greeted by Aya.

"Can I talk to you, ate?" Aya asked, she quickly nodded. "Our seat was in the middle area but Mom and Dad were with their high school batchmates, so they're having a mini-get together, for sure I can't concentrate on praying." she joked, which she just nodded and smiled. Aya whispers something to her ear. "I've been looking and searching around for a while," she said. She guessed it was about zombies again.

How can she tell Aya that it is not possible to have zombies in today's generation without hurting her feelings?

"Aya, you know--" she interrupted her when the girl covered her mouth, she confusedly stared at Aya's face and as if she was paranoid.

"I-I feel like I'm hearing something strange again. Look! I got goosebumps!" she exclaimed.

She removed her hand from her mouth. "It's just the choir, Aya. Relax!"

"Zombie thing again, Aya?" shaking and laughing question of Arix.

"Zombie? Where? Can I take a selfie?" Mark joked, hearing the conversation.

"Stop joking, crazy monkey," Viva yelled at him, then turned to Aya. "Have you seen a Zombie? Seriously?" she whispered.

"Oh, c'mon guys, they're just fictional characters, they're not existing in real world." said Richie.

Aya ignored the men. "Yes ate Viva, I saw one, remember the dead woman in the vacant lot on the side of your school? It was a zombie who did it."

Viva's eyes widened. "Seriously?" Aya nodded seriously. "I told you, Zombies are real." she said to them before turning to Aya. "Did the woman become a zombie? Where is the zombie you saw at the vaccant lot?"

"Stop it, guys, it makes no sense at all." said Arix.

Aya ignored Arix again. "The male zombies I saw was missing, so, I prepared myself to avoid the possible attack of the zombies who are just somewhere." at the same time, she showed the contents of her large backpack she was carrying. She have two sharp sticks and a sharp-looking bolo, she covered those things with a large junkfoods and sweets, so that it would not be noticeable.

They were surprised at what they saw. "Didn't your parents wonder why you're carrying a large backpack on a misa de gallo?" Mark asked laughing.

Aya shook her head. "They thought i put the stuffs that I would donate to the church's gift giving project."

"Aya, what if someone see the scary weapon inside your bag and report you?" she asked.

"This is a special weapon to fight against those creepers..."

She did not finish whatever she was going to say because the bell rang, signaling that the mass is about to begin.

They were in the middle of the homily when someone screamed outside the small church. Everyone quickly turned around and Aya immediately stood up.

She felt nervous that she couldn't explain and all of a sudden she seemed to believe what Aya was saying.

"Close all the doors!" Aya shouted.

The creepy screams outside continues, so, she stood up to follow what Aya said, her friends were stunned by what was happening and the people inside of the church starts to panic.

"Guys, move!" she shouted at her friends to help Aya and her close the all the four railing doors that were open.

"What's going on outside?"

"Why are you closing the doors?" the people inside the church asked one after another, as the frightening screams outside got louder and louder.

"Open the door ! Open it--" a man didn't continue what he wanted to say when a scary man with full of blood on his face and clothes suddenly grabbed him, and everyone was shocked when the man bit him.

"Damn! It can't be real." Arix said.

"T-The door on the right side is not yet close." shouted by a woman.

Her eyes widened and she was about to run to close it quickly when a female zombie smuggled in and quickly attacked an old man.

The panic, shouting and fear inside the church have tripled, no one knows where to hide, run or what.

"Lolo!" he heard a boy shout, as he approached to the old man but she quickly stopped him.

Aya also responded quickly and immediately released the bolo and chopped off the head of the female zombie. Everyone was startled and screamed on the top of their lungs.

More and more zombies are knocking on closed doors. Arix quickly pushed the creeper who bit the old man and killed by Aya then quickly closed the door.

"Kuya Arix, we need to let go of Lolo before he transforms into a zombie." said Aya.

"No, please, he's the only one left in my family. I no longer have parents." cried by the little boy.

It's heartbreaking to see such scene, she used to think that this kind of scene only happen in movies and TV dramas. Until at that very moment she still could not believe that Zombies are real.

"Aya! Let go of what you are holding, gracious God!" Aling Senia said hysterically, but Aya shook her head, so Arix came to the rescue and he took the bolo from the girl.

"Yam, what are we going to do with lolo?" Viva asked.

She think for a moment until she looked for a strong rope that they could use to tie the old man before he ransforms into a zombie.

As time went on, the rattle of the zombies outside was getting louder and louder.

There are women who have lost consciousness, there are children who are crying loudly, the priest and all the church people were busy praying for the safety of everyone.

"I can't believe it!" Mark says.

"What are we going to do now?"

"Damn! Do zombies eat birds? They might see Tweety in the cage and eat." Mark refers to his pet bird.

Viva stared at Mark. "You care more about your birds than your life, crazy monkey." she said shaking her head while Mark sighed out of frustrations.

"Ate, please let me go, I have to go to my lolo," said the boy to Yam.

"Okay, but don't get too close, alright?" the boy just nodded.

"What are we gonna do?" Arix and Aya approached where their friends were.

She turned to the people who were terrified and panicked, she instructed them to be calmed in order for them to think straight and strategies.

"There are many zombies outside, my defense are useless." said Aya.

"Aya, just stay here next to us and be quiet--"

"Mom, I need to usemy skills here. Okay?" she said, the lady fell silent.

"We can't kill all of them, it's hard to risk life to escape from this place." she said.

"If just believe you, we would not have been trapped here." Mark said to Aya.

"Mommy I'm hungry."

"Mom, I'm thirsty."

"It's so hot in here, Mom."

The children complained and started crying again, and it seemed they could not be stopped. And the monsters outside the door kept banging.

Everyone shouted when the light went out on their left side, a man unconciously pressed the light switch. She noticed that the zombies in the area had calmed down and when the man switched on the light, the monsters starts to make a noise again.

"Let's turn off all the lights." she suggested. Some did not immediately obey, so she lead it first and her friends followed her. The zombies outside calmed down a bit but not all.

"Aya, give these children some food, they are hungry." she said. They are not aware of the time but perhaps they've been inside the church for almost three hours.

Viva and Mark helped Aya to provide the food to the children while she, Arix and Richie stayed observant to the zombies.

"Look, when the kids stopped crying, the zombies didn't make any noise." Richie commented.

"Same as when the lights were turned off earlier. So, I think they're sensitive to light and sounds." Arix concluded.

"We need to stay quiet and turn off the light." she said. They noticed that the zombies were slowly leaving the door.

"I want more!" one kid shouted, so the zombies reacted again and went back to the door.

"Sshh ..." she hushed the kid, to calm everyone down. "They have strong hearing and they are sensitive to light, so we should not make any noise or show any light." she tolf them.

A little boy tapped Arix back. "Kuya, i have an upset stomach." He said.

"Why now, kid?" Mark said shaking his head, so Viva hit him.

There was no CR inside the church, and as far as she knew it was in the back of the church.

"Just hold a little bit." whispered by Arix. Then it was silent for a moment, he seemed to be thinking of a way.

It is not just one boy who needs to go to the CR but three plus two old women who needs to urinate.

"We'll distract them first, Yam." said Arix.

"How?" she asked.

He quickly pulled his cellphone out of his pocket, plays the music on his player, so the zombies appeared again. Arix quickly threw the phone outside the door, which was also quickly followed by the zombies.

"Let's go!" said Arix carrying the little boy, he also held the arms of the two old women. Aya quickly closed the door. "Accompany them in the CR as I take the gallon of water and basin to be used inside." whispered by Arix as they ran fast but soundless towards the CR.

There are two CRs; the male and female and each has three cubicles, they occupied it all and did their own businesses. Arix has separated from them to make his plan.

"Are you done?" Arix was already there. Gladly, everyone had finished their tasks.

Slowly they walk back inside the church, Arix's phone was still playing the song, its playlist was full of classic love songs. When Viva saw them approaching, she slowly opened the door.

"Run with silence, kids." she said to the children, who did well.

The children had already entered and because there were senior citizens and they had difficulty of running in a hurry, she was surprised when an old lady stumbled, almost falling over.

"Lola, you go inside first." she whispered to the other old woman, while she was helping the other one to stand straight, Arix also quickly approached them and carry the old woman.

"I'll just go back to get the gallon of water later just take the basin." commanded by Arix.

"Faster!" Mark whispered.

"Guys, make it faster!" Richie whispered too.

They stopped walking fast when suddenly Arix's phone died.

"Damn! It's lowbat!" he said.

And to her shocked, she stepped on a plastic bottle that created noise, so the large group of zombies turned to them.

"Damn! Run faster, Yam!" Arix shouted as they ran to get inside the church.

"Shit! Run!" Mark and Richie shouted loudly, so they ran even faster, the other old woman had already entered the church.

The zombies are fast approaching, her heartbeats were doubled when an anime song grabs the Zombies attention again. Aya threw her phone outside. They breathed a sigh of relief when the zombies' attention was on the cellphone until they finally got inside and closed the door.

"Nice one, kiddo!" Mark happily messed up Aya's hair, Aya smiled proudly at them.

"I called the village, I told the guards to close the gate and no one should enter or leave, even in our own houses." said Viva.

"I need to get the water!" said Arix, he was about to walk to open the door when she stopped him.

"It's still dangerous, Arix." she said hesitantly.

"Do you want them thirst to death?" he asked.

She didn't have any choice. She let go of his arm.

Arix quickly went to the location of the gallon he had left earlier, but his eyes widened when a zombie slipped behind him.

"Behind you, Arix!" she shouted. She also grabbed the attention of the other zombies. "Damn!" she cussed.

Fortunately, Arix is a taekwondo jin, so he quickly kicked the zombie, which knocked him down, but it did not end there, now the other zombies are also approaching where Arix is and even though he is tall and strong, there are five zombies who are walking towards him.

"Lolo!"

At the same time their attention turned to the boy and his grandfather who was then transforming into a zombie, until it gradually became wild.

"Look after lolo." she told her friends.

"Yam, what are you going to do?" Viva stopped her.

"I'll help Arix!" she said, then she hurried out of the church.
