"WHAT was that loud and creepy scream?" that made Yam shuddered. She was about to find that scary and loud screams earlier when suddenly someone blocked her path, she was startled. "Argh! Viva!" she annoyingly slapped her friend's shoulder and her crazy friend just laughed at her, she's with Mark, who also laughed at her shocked looked.

"You're overacting, Yam, and your face looked even scarier," Mark teased her and laughed again.

She reached for his arm to hit it . "Yeah, right, I'm not beautiful." she said annoyingly.

Viva shook her head and laughed again. "Mark didn't mean that literally but right now, if you could just see yourself in the mirror, you look like a zombie, your eyes are deep and swollen - which is a bit weird," she then again laughed. "You're just so haggard, are you heartbroken?" she joked.

"Don't talk to me!" she said then turned her back on them.

She didn't had enough sleep because she had planned about her confessions all night, she was also stressed and eventually failed. Yes, she is not that beautiful, though Viva often tells her that her face and body is like of a fashion model, but of course she didn't believe her because they were friends and she just said that to boost her confidence.

She had a boyfriend when she was in Senior high. She and Arix had a relationship almost at the same time, she was not able to handled it with her studies and her mom scolded her about it. Her mom is an OFW in Singapore, her father had passed away, so her mom was the bread winner in the family, she has a younger brother and a grandmother with her at home. So, every single penny is life. That's why she broke up with her first boyfriend and tried to focus on studying, she was able to passed with God's mercy and Arix's help.

"What are you doing here in this isolated place?" Mark asked.

"How about you two, what are you doing here?" she also asked doubtfully. She will not be surprised if these two would say that they love each other, even though Viva is boyish, still, half italian-half Filipino Mark can melt Viva's heart.

All the girls in the campus are jealous of them because they have three super hot boy friends. Well, they are bound together by common interest, course and characteristics.

"We saw you from the window of the room where we hung out a while ago and it looked like the sky was clouded over you, so we followed you here. What happened?" Viva asked.

She shook her head. She can't say that she was heartbroken to Arix. "I'm okay, maybe I was just tired of the sparring match Arix and I had earlier." she lied. They just nodded.

"Next week will be the start of Misa de gallo, shall we complete it again? We've been attending and completing the night mass three years in a row." said Mark.

Viva smiled and nodded. "I'm in!" she quickly agree.

"Me too!" she answered.

"Good! So, we just need to ask Arix and Richie."

"Where are those two?" Viva asked.

"At the gym." she replied.

"Okay! Let's tell them." said Mark. She did not want these two to doubt and know that she was hiding something, so she joined them.

They were close to the entrance of the gym when they heard the loud and scary shouts.

"What's that?" she asked. It was five o'clock in the afternoon and only few students were left inside the campus. They heard the screams on the left side of the school campus which was the vacant lot.

"Can we look what's going on across the fence?" said Viva.

"Let's go!" Mark exclaimed.

She just followed her two friends, their supposed to be conversation with Arix and Richie was interrupted. The three of them stepped on the hollowblocks to see the other side, they were surprised to see a woman unconsciously lying on the other side.

"Shit! Is that woman dead?" Mark asked.

"Call an ambulance!" she suggested.

"Police officers too!" Viva also suggested. Then she hurried down the blocks to go to her other two friends inside the gym. They quickly called an ambulance and police officers to respond to the incident.

According to the news, the woman was already dead when they arrived at the hospital, and no one was seen to be responsible for that shocking incident. The woman was placed in a refrigerated vessel in the mortuary for further autopsy and for the identification of her family, because she did not have an ID or anything and the woman was not familiar to anyone.

The weird thing is that the skin on the woman's face has almost been removed and one of her arms has been separated from the body, it looks like a beast wanted to eat that woman.

"But it is impossible for a wild animal to do that, there are no wild animals here." Richi said.

Yam and Viva are still nauseated because they actually saw the dead woman.

"Couldn't a cannibal have done that?" Mark spoke.

"Or maybe" Viva's eyes widened. "Zombie?"

"Cut the crap, wilab troops." Arix said. "Just let the policemen investigate it, have mercy on your little neurons." Arix joked. Richie's threw his face towel on him and laughed.

"Fine! Next week will be the start of the Misa de gallo, we'll go to church together, alright?" said Mark.

"Yeah!" they answered.

"ATE Yam, kuya Arix!" Yam and Arix's attention have diverted to the girl who called their names. It was Aya, the 15-year old daughter of Aling Senia, the lady-owner of the canteen where they eat.

The girl quickly approached them. "What is it, Aya?" she asked.

She took a deep breath first. "Ate, I hid this secret for a week now because I was so scared and another thing, no one will believe me, especially when i told mama and papa and my friends about this, but I know you are different from them.."

She frowned at the seriousness and curiosity of what the little girl has wanted to say. "About what?"

"Aya, you look terrified, are you okay?" asked by Arix.

"Ate, Kuya, please believe me, zombies are real. My eyes clearly saw that day when the zombie ate the flesh of that dead woman."

"What?" she and Arix asked in unison.

"I also found out the condition of the woman who was taken to the hospital, the one who was torn to shreds, I confirmed that the woman turned into zombie. At first they thought that the woman was alive but was eventually killed because she was shot in the head by a guard, she ate the flesh of a female nurse. "

"It's kinda hard to believe, Aya." said Arix.

"I know, you would not believe me but it's really true." said Aya.

"It's not that we don't believe, it seems impossible to have zombies these days." she said.

"It's just on TV shows, Aya." Arix added.

"You believe in Supernatural things, don't you, ate Yam?" she became close with Aya because they both love horror movies and supernatural topics.

"Yes, but--"

"Then believe me!" She almost cried when she told her the whole story, so she just nodded.

"Okay, calm down," she said. "Then do you think the zombie you're talking about is still in the vacant lot?" she asked. Arix just shook his head out of disbelief.

"Maybe it wanders at night, I think, those walking dead didn't want to be exposed from the sunlight 'cause I don't see any creeper who wanders at daylight but I know they are just around at night and maybe many have been victimized. "

It was really hard to believe what Aya was saying, but something trembled in her chest. She seemed want to believe but she was still confused.

"Aya! Come here, what kind of craziness are you telling them?" said Senia then turned to them. "Just ignore her."

"Aya, your mom is calling you.." she said.

"Believe me, ate, please ..."

She just nodded. When the girl left, she took a deep breath and heaved a sigh.

"Don't tell me, you believe in her?" Arix asked.

"I don't know." she answered. It's really hard to convince this friend of her to believe in such thing.

"Come on!" he said, then put his arm around her shoulder and started walking.

Yes, it's been a week since she confessed her true feelings for him, and by the grace of God she is also gradually moving on, she is focusing herself on other things.

"Believe me ate, please ..." she remembered what Aya said again.
