Part 7

"You're going somewhere?" Rexon asked Owell as he entered the Pegasus Men's Bar office. He holds important papers that need to be signed.

Owell turned around and cast Rexon a smug smile. "Do I look more handsome now?" then he asked as he crossed his arms over his chest and posed jokingly.

He had been busy lining himself up in front of the mirror when Rexon entered on his office. For the first time, he didn't know why he was not satisfied with his appearance.

He was wearing his usual get up: plain black shirt and ripped jeans, while on his feet were also the usual sneakers. He only added a black leather jacket to make himself more cool.

But Rexon merely shook his head. He did not seem to care.

"You're such a dork, dude," Owell blurted out with a disappointed tone.

"It's better if you just sign these papers so that Lucy will somehow be happy with you. Not like that. Doing nonsense," but Rexon pointed out seriously.

Instead of getting offended, Owell laughed.

After that, he made another look at himself in the mirror before he went to the swivel chair and sat down.

"I'm really scared of what you're doing again," Rexon trailed off before he sighed and pushed the papers in front of him.

"Chill. Stop worrying too much." Owell grinned proudly and lifted one shoulder negligently as he began to sign the important papers.

"Tss." Rexon's nose wrinkled. "If Lucy finds out what you're doing right now, you're doomed."

"Only if I get caught and if someone would denounce me," still snickering, Owell replied in a matter of fact tone as his hands were still busy signing.

Actually, he doesn't do this often. Signing documents was not part of his responsibilities. In fact, he really hates staying here at the bar office because he likes being outdoors. But because both Lucy and Damon were in Korea, his bar co-owners, he was forced to do so. He doesn't have a choice but to bore himself here in the office while Lucy and Damon were away.

"You must pray that no one would report you to Lucy because I think you were the subject of gossip last night here in the bar because of your defensive move on Bea. Remember, almost all of our staff saw what you did."

"What?!" He slapped his hand against the table. "Tell them not to make an issue because I did nothing wrong. Any member of our staff who gets an indecent treat from a rowdy customer will be defended as well," he decorated. Somehow he meant it. Although not obvious, acting crudely toward women is his weakness. Because for him, women should be loved, not to be hurt. It's his motto as a man.

Oh, well! Yeah, sometimes he sucks over his love for women because he takes them to bed even if not necessary. But at least he made them happy and satisfied with the great experience.

He grinned inwardly with the thought.

"And you would take them home, too? Like what you just did with Bea, is that it?" But Rexon quipped in a slightly critical tone that niggled Owell.

"Who said that? I didn't bring Bea home, Okay? That's a lie," Owell curtly protested.

"The guard saw you. You took Bea in a cab," Rexon told him. "Please, don't use an alibi to me as if I didn't know you."

Owell passed a hand over his jaw. And couldn't help but laugh slightly at that.

"That's nice. Laugh now while you still can. Let's see if you can still laugh when Lucy comes home," Rexon said.

"Done." Owel pushed back the papers in front of Rexon after he signed it, ignoring what Rexon just said. Like it's no big deal. He's quite unruffled. "For what is that?" and he inquired about the papers to change the subject.

For nearly three years that Rexon was the general manager of their bar, they already trusted him dearly. That even if they didn't read the paper they were signing up, it's okay, because not once did Rexon failed them.

"These are all the bills and expenses here at the bar we have to pay. I need a sign so I can settle it now," Rexon's serious response while turning the papers back in the envelope.

Owell let out a long "Aaaaahhh!" of satisfaction. He leaned back on his chair and clasped his hands behind his head. He watched Rexon. "When is Lucy coming home?" and he asked after a while.

"Maybe next month because she said she'll be taking care of more the---" Rexon's answer was interrupted when his phone rang shrilly under his jeans' pocket. "Speaking of Lucy," and he told Owell when he saw who was calling.

Owell flashed a quelling look that says, "Don't answer!"

Unfortunately, Rexon still tapped the screen. "Yes, Lucy?"

"You little rat!" Owell scoffed at an undertone, showing his curled fist at his traitor friend.

"Yeah, we're talking now," Rexon answered Lucy, ignoring him completely.

Owell's eyes widened at that. He wagged his both hands. He didn't want to talk to Lucy because he was sure she would just nag him. Lucy probably already knows the gossip.

"Dude, Lucy wants to talk to you." But Rexon handed him the phone.

"Aisst!" He knew that Rexon was trying to piss him more and he's succeeding because he could do nothing but accept the phone and put it over his ears. If not, Lucy might be even more angry with him. That's more scary, just in case.

"H-Hello?" he answered hesitantly. He stretched and lifted his hand to rub the point between his shoulder blades. A gesture when something is incredibly annoying.

And he was more annoyed when he saw Rexon laughing at him mockingly without a sound. He squinted angrily at him. How he wished Rexon wasn't his friend so that he can kick him in the ass later. Psh!

"You brainless jerk!" Lucy rough rebuked him, that snapped him back in attention to the line. "What kind of dog crap you did again?! Are you really dumb?!"

He frowned as he was almost becoming deaf with the thunderous voice of Lucy. It was like a bomb that boomed in his ears.

"What are you up to?" but of course he asked as if he's very innocent.

"For fuck's sake, Owell, I can't really rely on you! You haven't really changed! You're still acting like a kid! Thank Goodness and Rexon is there to partake in all your foolishness," but Lucy went on, ravening on him on and on.

"I was just protecting our new staff to the rude customer. What's wrong with that? You should be proud because I have now a concern with our staff," he crowed, trying to be logical. Just hoping he gets through with it.

"That's another problem of you! Who is the woman you hired without even consulting me or Damon? Is that your new girl that you want to bring to bed again?!" Lucy exclaimed. The anger in her tone did not diminish.

"Tsk!" He clicked his tongue. He scratched his head as if suddenly he had lice.

"When I get home, get yourself ready! You'll see, I will make that girl's life miserable as hell!" said Lucy with a threatening tone.

He never spoke again. Instead, he pressed the end button on Rexon's cell phone with extreme annoyance. He has a lot of patience when it comes to Lucy, but at times he felt sick and tired for always understanding her.

"Find out who rat me out, dude! I wanna skin her alive!" and he angrily commanded to Rexon as he roughly returned the phone to him.

Rexon took it and pocketed it. "What if it was Mother S?" and he said, causing Owell to be transfixed.

"Tss!" Owell was even more upset by what he heard. He drummed his fingers on the desk while pondering. But because he knew for himself that when it came to Mother Susan, she had nothing against it, "Okay, forget it," so he said hopelessly.

And then he stood up and grabbed his car key. He had just decided to leave. Time to fetch up Bea. It's already 9 o'clock in the evening and it's only two hours before the bar opens. The Pegasus Men's Bar opens at 11:00 PM until 5:00 AM.

Rexon also stood up and stared after him. "Where are you going?"

"I just have to fetch someone up," he casually replied, and he headed out the door. But he stopped suddenly when he remembered something. He glanced back at Rexon. "Where's Rose? Is she going to work today?"

"Rose Marie? One of the entertainers?" Rexon asked, brows drawing into a solid line in wonder.

He gave a brief nod. "Yeah."

"No. She is Mr. Valdez's escort girl at the casino today," replied Rexon even though he was a little bit puzzled.

"Oh, damn!" It looks like there was a cement bag that collapsed on Owell's nape. All of a sudden he felt that everything seem to go upside down. His plan was totally ruined. "What would happen now? How can Bea talk to Rose?"

"Wait. I don't understand." Rexon lifted up a big hand. "Why would Bea have to talk to Rose? Do they know each other?"

He sighed dramatically then rubbed her forehead. And for a moment, he explained why and how Bea landed in their bar. That they made a mistake when he mistook her as an applicant.

"I see," Rexon just said simply.

"Yeah. And Bea wouldn't want to come back to the bar if Rose wasn't friends with her anymore," he added, as if the bar will be bankrupt if Bea will never return.

Without a word, Rexon shook his head. "Poor Bea, it looks like Owell really has plans of making her a toy," and he secretly thought.

"Can't you just replace Rose even for now?"

"You know I can't do that."

"Just try it. Come on."

Rexon shook his head many times. "Mr Valdez always schedules Rose every Thursday. We can't just break it down."

"Then tell him that Rose is badly needed right here at the bar. It's an emergency," he insisted.

"It's not possible," but Rexon also said sternly. "Rose is Mr. Valdez's favorite escort. So let's not try that out because we will surely deal with the massive mess. I don't want to lose my job, dude."

"Aissst!" Owell ruffled his own hair in defeat.

"Wait. What's the matter anyway?"

"I've told you, I need to reconcile Bea and Rose otherwise Bea will not work here at the bar."

Rexon shrugged. "But Bea has been already here at the bar," and he said nonchalantly.

All of a sudden, Owell's face lit with an instantly engaging smile. "What did you say?"

"I said Bea was already here. She came in early."

"Really? You're not fuckin' kidding me?"

"I kid you not. Actually, I was really surprised that she came in early. Then she apologized again for the uproar last night."

Owell's smile widened. He was about to feel the excitement but gradually his handsome face crumpled. "That girl! I said I was going to fetch her up! Why didn't she wait for me?!"

"What the?! You mean you should be going to Bea?"

Instead of reacting, he turned away and marched out. He headed to the barmaids quarter.

When he got there, he crashed open the door. He paused in the doorway and scanned her eyes to everyone, everyone who was stunned speechless.

Staff's eyes are open widely and they don't know what to do, especially those who are still dressing up. They were surprised to find that Owell Esmeria, one of their bosses, had come to their quarters. That never happened, only now.

"Boss O, do... do you need anything?" asked one of them bravely, but sounded muffled, scared.

But Owell ignored it. His eyes just kept searching. Until he finally found Bea. He took a step towards her.

Bea also looked surprised as she looked at Owell going near her. Fortunately, she hasn't taken her clothes off yet. She was supposed to change her clothes to uniforms.

"Why are you here already?" asked Owell as he stood before Bea.

"Umm..." Bea didn't know how to answer because she was worried. Owell's expression was bitter. It was as if she had committed a great sin.

"Why didn't you wait for me?! I told you I will fetch you, right?!" Owell pressed on. His voice rose up as if he was a boyfriend nagging to his girl.

"Dude!" Good thing that before anyone could think anything negative, Rexon suddenly swept in. "You don't have to pick her up to accompany her to apologize to the customer last night. I was the one who fetched her earlier. And we finished talking with the customer and everything has been already settled. Eventually, the customer stated that he would not sue us."

At any rate, Rexon's remarks reduced everyone's wonder.

Owell turned to see Rexon. His eyes narrowed. 'What the hell he's talking about?' he thought.

"Guys, come on. Hurry up and get dressed. This is nothing." Rexon clapped his hands to dismiss everyone.

It was then that Owell realized he had done wrong, as if he just actually noticed that there are many people. Because of his frustration with Bea, he forgot that in the barmaid's quarter, almost of their staff were here. Surely this would be an issue again if Rexon didn't interfere.

Owell scratched his head. He wanted to kick his own ass. How can he be so foolish?! Darn it!

"Umm... Bea, next time be careful what you do here at the bar. Don't repeat what happened last night or else you'll be kicked out," he just said before he stomped out the quarter...
