Part 4

"That's it, Bea. You're really a fast learner. Nice," Mother Susan gladly praised to Bea after Bea had done what she had been taught, on how to properly open wine bottles. Mother Susan has decided that she will be the one to teach Bea because all the bar staff were busy with their work, even though she should not.

Bea smiled sweetly. In all that she went through, it's already easy for her to learn fast. "Just got lucky, Mother S," but then she still said humbly.

Mother Susan nodded and gently tapped her on the shoulder.

Maria Susan Valdez or simply Mother S is like the Dining Room Manager of the bar. And she's in her late fifties now, but not as noticeable because of her still sexy figure. Someone said that she is one of the right-hand person in the bar because she was close to the mother and father of Lucy Raihana, one of the owners of the bar holding the largest share. However, Mother Susan was still kind, that's why all the staff at the bar respect her so much.

What Rose had said, that the staff here were kind was true, because they are smiling pleasantly at her. The barmaids were immediately welcomed her into the group. Except the entertainers, because they say that here in the bar, the entertainers are the stars, so their group is different, their place is separate.

And Rose is one of the stars here at the bar, Bea thought. No need to ask for that. In Rose's attire, which was over daring, it's so obvious already.

Bea doesn't want to fight her true presumption about Rose because she would look like a fool if she will insist that Rose do nothing nasty here at the bar. Everything has been already clear to her about where Rose's money came from. Rose had obviously deceived everyone in the province.

Bea couldn't help but look at her friend again. Rose is currently busy entertaining a customer who is clearly wealthy.

Earlier, Rose had just brought and introduced her to Mother Susan just as Rexon had ordered, then she left as if nothing happened. Even though she had openly showed that she wanted to talk to her.

Again, Rose made her feel that she was no longer a friend of her.

"I noticed that you always look at Rose. Do you know her?" Mother Susan suddenly asked her.

Bea immediately revoked her gaze at Rose and shook her head widely at Mother Susan. "N-No, Mother S. I didn't know her," and she lied sternly.

"Is that so?" Mother Susan simply stated. But she doesn't seem to believe it.

Bea bit her lower lip to suppress a gasp. She's not really good at lying though. "I just admire her because she's like an actress. She's quite pretty," however, she added to uphold her first statement.

Rose hates her. And she didn't want that anger to escalate before she left this place. At least she did her part as an old friend despite Rose repudiating her.

"Um.. Yeah. Rose is indeed beautiful. Of all the entertainers here at the bar, she is my favorite. Because that kid didn't change a bit, even though she was making a lot of money already. She's still kind," Mother Susan said after a moment, which made Bea confused.

Bea's brows winged up in two perfect slants as she glanced at Rose once again.

Rose is still kind?

Rose didn't change a bit?

Really?

She couldn't believe what Mother Susan said. If Rose hasn't changed a bit, then why is Rose treats her this way?

She watched Rose in silence with a total of perplexity.

What she didn't expect was when Rose suddenly cast her a glance too. Her gaze met hers. And for a moment, they gave each other a steady and blank stare.

Actually, Bea felt weird. Because the way Rose looked at her, it was as if Rose wanted to say something. She just doesn't get what it was.

"Bea, right?" Suddenly, someone blocked her, causing her to lose her gaze on Rose.

A bit annoyed, Bea looked at the woman who had grabbed her attention But when she saw that it's her co-waitress Aireen and she's holding a tray with white wine glasses, her annoyance lost immediately.

"Um.. Y-Yes," she responded. She tried to catch Rose's gaze again, but her friend was already busy.

And she was bewildered when her co-waitress handed her the tray of wines. "Please, serve that for table five. I just need to pee. Thanks."

Before she could speak or agree, Aireen had been already in front of Mother Susan to excuse herself. "I have to go to the rest room, Mother S."

When Mother Susan nodded her head, a permission to let her go, Aireen went on.

Bea winced a few times while following a look to the waitress. Didn't she know she was just a trainee?

And then she gave Mother Susan a beseeching stares.

"Go ahead. Serve that drink at table five, Bea. Always remember, customers are your priority. Don't make them wait, don't make them rush," Mother Susan ordered her instead of saying she wouldn't do it because she wasn't ready to assist customers yet.

Bea's lips puckered, and swallowed the sudden lump in her throat nervously. What if she made a mistake?

"Bea, relax. Just always wear your smile and confidence and everything will gonna be all right," Mother Susan said, cheering her up.

It took Bea a while to nod. She agreed because she thought that why she was afraid to make a mistake? After all, she has gone through a lot in her past works. Actually, serving wine is just a piece of cake.

Mother Susan actioned a dismiss hand. Thereon, Bea gently served the wines to the men who were sitting at table five. There are four men and obviously the middle aged man with a big belly is the boss.

Bea thought they were scary but fortunately they were kind, maybe. She even surprise when one of the guys gave her a thousand pesos, at the behest of their boss.

"Take it or else Boss will be sulking with you," said the man when she hesitate to take the tip.

"But that's too much, sir," she reasoned out.

That made for the gangsters laugh in sync, including the boss.

"It's okay. Boss is really gallant when it comes to new staff here at his favorite bar," the other guy told her. "C'mon, take it."

When she looked at the boss, he flashed her a charming smile and at the same time gesturing the glass of wine in his hand towards her, saying that she should accept the tip.

Bea nibbled her lips while thinking. Well, he looked really rich, so maybe a thousand pesos have been just a penny to him. It wouldn't be bad if she will take the tip.

But before all that, she looked at Mother Susan to make sure it is okay to accept the tip. When Mother Susan bobbed her head, she accepted the one thousand bill.

"That's yours. Keep it," and Mother Susan told her when she tried to surrender the tip with her.

"Really, Mother S?" Bea's eyes widened. Because in her previous jobs, she had to work a few days before she could get a thousand pesos. While in here, she just served alcohol for just a minute and she already has a thousand pesos. Wow! She couldn't believe it!

"This is a high profile bar, Bea, so expect your customers to be galore. The one who gave that to you is a politician. Money is nothing to him just like other billionaires who come here often. So just be nice to him when he's here and you'll definitely be lucky because he obviously likes you," arms folded across her chest, Mother Susan stated seriously.

Bea nodded reluctantly. She felt a bit awkward. She was also terrified. Because how could she deal with men that has lots of money in their bank accounts, whom could no longer be counted using the ordinary calculator?

She remembered the rich people she had watched on TV dramas. It was easy for them to kill. Yay!

It's scary!

Until one of the bar bouncers approached Mother Susan. The bouncer whispered something to Mother Susan after pointing at a guy sitting on the open upper floor of the bar.

Bea's heart suddenly was filled with excitement when she also looked up there and recognized who the guy was. Because he was the guy that she first met outside and he was looking at her again intently. By that, her cheeks started to heat up again. And she doesn't know, but she almost smiled at the guy.

"Bea, come. Let's go to the kitchen," but all of a sudden, Mother Susan grabbed her hand and pulled her. She was shocked, but then she realized it was fine that Mother Susan did it because she prevented herself from flirting with the guy. She's a shame! Geez!

In the kitchen, Mother Susan taught her a lot about her work. Somehow she enjoyed that she barely noticed the time. For a moment she forgot the guy, especially Rose.

Time ticked fast, it was about two o'clock in the morning when Bea got out of the kitchen. The staff became more busy as more customers arrived at dawn. She voluntarily helped by serving drinks and cleaning tables. And she was overjoyed when someone gave her a tip again and this time it was five hundred pesos. It is true that money is easy for this job.

When she thought no one was looking at her, she slipped the bill over her bra. She imitated what her fellow waitresses were doing. Actually, she was also wearing a waitress' uniform already. Mother Susan made her wear the uniform a while ago to see if it would fit her, but she couldn't change anymore when Mother Susan suddenly left her because someone called her on the phone, and had not yet returned.

"Huh!" Bea was startled when suddenly the light went off. She thought something was going to go wrong, but she felt relief knowing it was just part of the show.

In the next instant, an adorable dancer in a very sexy attire appeared when the stage has been lit. She's only wearing a short skirt, bikini tops, and mid calf high heel boots. And as the sexy music began and the dancer dances flirtily, the customers became wild. They are overjoyed of watching.

Actually, even Bea enjoyed watching because the dancer was really good. But after a couple of moments, she lost her admiration for the dancer when she finally recognized who it was. Because it was Rose! Yeah, the sexy dancer was no other than Rose, her friend!

Bea felt as if the bar suddenly became silent. She felt like she has been poured by a cold water. She was stunned, as if there was a pin-drop silence in the bar all of a sudden. She can't blink, and she can't breath. She couldn't really believe what she was seeing.

Yes, she already figured out this was what Rose was doing here at the bar, but it felt strange now that she seen it with her own eyes.

"Rose..." Bea muttered, tears started to rush down, falling on both of her soft pinkish cheeks. Suddenly, everything she hated about Rose was replaced by compassion. God! What happened to her friend? Why did she chose this life?

And when she couldn't longer bear what she was watching, she turned away. Unfortunately, she collided with a drunk customer and the rest of the wine she was holding has been thrown into the customer's expensive shirt.

"Shit!" violently cursed of the customer.

"I'm so sorry, sir. I didn't mean it." Bea immediately felt frightened. She tried to wipe the customer's clothes.

"Fuck off!" But the arrogant customer rudely swatted her hands.

Bea closed her eyes tightly, by the thought that he was going to slap her because of her stupidity. Her whole body's trembling. But thank goodness and no palm had hit her cheeks.

"Don't you dare lay a hand on her!"

Wondering, Bea opened her eyes when she heard a familiar voice.

And she was even more surprised when she saw the customer's hand, pausing in the air. The customer really should have slap her in the face but because someone stopped him, it didn't happen.

"Don't interfere here!" warned the customer to the guy holding his hand.

Bea glanced at the guy next to her, to the guy who owns the familiar voice, to the guy who bothered to save her from the arrogant customer. And she felt safe when she saw that it was the guy that she first met outside the bar.

"She doesn't intend to mess up with you. I saw it, dude," the guy said seriously to the arrogant customer. His chest tightened and his fist curled up, as if he was ready to fight if the customer will not calm down.

"Stay out of this shit!" But the arrogant customer's voice growled louder and he even tried to punch.

"Eiiihhh!" Bea shrieked horrifyingly that caught everyone's attention.

And then everything got even worse...
